Clarksville Rotary Club Paul Harris Luncheon

Danielle & Davis Stack Clarksville Rotary Club recently held its annual Paul Harris Luncheon at First Baptist Church. It was Kimberly Wiggins’ last meeting as President. “This past year has been a whirlwind of fun,” Wiggins said. “I’ve been figuring out how to continue to serve in the midst of a pandemic. We didn’t get to stop. There were unique challenges, like Zoom being the new normal, and figuring out how to meet people where they are.”

During Wiggins’ tenure, Rotary Club projects included repainting the Liberty Park playground, Stuffing the Bus for the CMC Education Foundation, and a variety of other endeavors that directly benefited the people of Clarksville-Montgomery County.

“I learned a lot,” Wiggins said. “For example, we can get away from the status quo, ‘used to’ doesn’t mean ‘have to’. We can be innovative and creative, and even more inclusive. We have seventy-seven members and we were named club of the year for our district.”

President Elect Chris Buerck said, “What we do, changes with the needs of the community. That’s what Rotary is here for, to meet the needs of our community. Our club has a great voice, and I plan to continue this group’s legacy of being there when our community needs us. Service above self is our motto. We’re going to keep that going. We’ll be announcing some big plans soon.”
