Conference and Showcase Catch Up Allan McGowan am@vip-booking.com

There are not many editions of the News these days that don’t refer to visits by one or more of the team to one or more of the increasing number of Conference and Showcase events – sometimes these include brand new events. Over the last month we have visited the oldest, and the newest; Ronni and Peter followed the sun to MIDEM, which has been running in the South of France since the late sixties, whilst I went to an equally sunny Lisbon, Portugal, for the first ever MIL, the Lisbon International, Music Network. I also got rained on in Inverness, Scotland, for the now well-established Expo North, previously known as GoNorth. Also, just as I was finishing this section I received a press release about the East European Music Conference in Romania, which I will attend to interview Stephan Thandscheit in July….

EAST EUROPEAN MUSIC CONFERENCE’S FIRST EDITION Much has happened throughout the Eastern European music markets over the past few years. In 2015 the Eastern European markets combined to be the guest market at Eurosonic.
