REVIEW OF 2018 If I were to use one word to sum up 2018, it would be challenging. For any distributor to experience both their best and worst trading months on record within the same year emphasizes the seismic shifts the industry has seen during the last 12 months. Thanks to VIP UKs flexible business approach and strategic positioning, supported by a great team, we have navigated through the challenges of the mining boom and the Intel shortages resulting in our best Q4 since the company started in 1990. There are still ongoing challenges with motherboards but our strong vendor relationships and versatility will again see us through.
Like any entrepreneurial business in this industry we have a lot of work to do, but we have learnt and improved, and we will continue to evolve. We have gone back to basics and we’ve got our mojo back. Currently we are the number 1 distributor for ASUS, BenQ, Cooler Master, Razer and Sapphire to name but a few, and we continue to work daily to ensure our relationships with our vendor partners and our customers are second to none. If Q4 has taught us anything, it will be that we can do more, we can work smarter and that the future for VIP UK is bright.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN
2019
What are my predictions for 2019? We are currently in the buzz of CES and taking in the latest products, gadgets and innovations from around the world whilst meeting with current and future partners to ensure our portfolio continues to meet our customers’ needs and appetite for growth. We expect smart home to continue the growth trend seen in 2018, with PWC predicting that over 10.8bn will be spent on smart home devices in 2019, and we believe it remains a space to watch. We plan to grow our connected home offering and strengthen our partnership with HomeGuard. We are expecting great things from AMD & Intel in 2019 and behind the scenes we are already working on announcing some very exciting new partnerships as well as launching new products with Trekstor & VAIO imminently.

Our annual Christmas campaign is a huge success every year and it gets harder to come up with an exciting festive concept. This year it was Christmas movie themed. Our Christmas Box Office Deals ran from 3rd to 14th of December, offering you the best deals (and puns) to top the charts in the Christmas Top 10 Box Office. GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Neil Brocklehurst A VIP UK stalwart, Neil or ‘Brock’ to his customers and colleagues, began his VIP life back in 2002. At the time he worked in the warehouse for Compaq computers who owned the building. After our Chairman Jatti bought the building he kept Brock on (along with another 12 employees) to continue working in the warehouse. He did this for a few years until the sales manager at the time encouraged him to try Sales, as he had the gift of the gab, and the rest as they say is history! A big Manchester United fan and fisherman, Brock has 4 children and 2 grandchildren and will reach the ripe old age of 50 this year. He will be celebrating in the tropical paradise of Goa in India. 14

A book worm, Patricia enjoys reading anything and everything. She loves hiking through mountains and forests and is looking forward to getting out and about in her favourite seasons; spring and summer. Polish food is her favourite, from Pierogi to anything with potatoes but she also has a soft spot for South African Biryani. 15
