RallySafe Info for Targa 2022 South Island VCC 2 Day Time Trial

RallySafe GPS: ‘RallySafe’ tracking and timing technology will be used for this event.

Your vehicle must be fitted with an operational RallySafe unit which must also be switched on from Scrutineering through until the end of the event. Failure to comply will incur a penalty as set out in the 2022 Targa NZ Seria Campione Series Regulations 15.2.18. RallySafe NZ will hire to VCC entrants and install in their car, all necessary fittings including display unit, suction cup, connector and 3 in 1 antenna (which sits on top of the unit), for NZ$30 per car (including GST), for this 2 day VCC time trial event.

In addition, a power cable costing $32 for a 3 mtr lead or $40 for a 5 mtr lead must be purchased

and fitted (with an in-line 3 or max 5 amp fuse), to all vehicles prior to the event.

2 Day VCC Time Trial: Total fittings hire + power cable fee (including GST), is either NZ$62 for fittings hire + 3 mtr power cable or NZ$70 for fittings hire + 5 mtr cable. (Any VCC entrants from 2018, 2019 or May 2022 who already have a power cable fitted to their car need only pay the NZ$30 fittings hire fee).

Please note that the above costs are in addition to the RallySafe on-event access fee of $190+GST for the 2 day VCC time trial event paid with your entry fee.

NOTE: Please make sure that you have paid your fittings hire fee or fittings hire fee plus power cable (and received it), at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

RallySafe NZ will install all necessary fittings (excluding power cable already fitted), following Scrutineering at the Annesbrook Event Centre, 40 Saxton Rd, Stoke, Nelson, 8.30am on Friday 14th October 2022.

All units must be returned to Buck before leaving the event.

(Some Itinerary details may change slightly, but hopefully this outline helps with your planning). Accommodation within walking distance of central Nelson will be very sought after for this event. I suggest that you make bookings online asap to take advantage of the discounts we’ve negotiated. (Kingsgate Motel is now fully booked, so has been deleted. Details of two other good alternatives are noted below).

Saturday 15th October: Day 1/Leg 1:

Starts from Nelson to finish with a car display in Motueka. Overnight: As for Thursday, back in Nelson above.

Sunday 16th October: Day 2/Leg 2:

Starts from Motueka to finish back in Nelson. Awards Dinner: Venue in Nelson and time tbc. Overnight: As for Thursday, in Nelson above.
