Eat After a Tooth Extraction

Have you recently had a tooth taken or are you soon to have one extracted? Whatever the cause, one thing you'll have to consider after your treatment is what you can and cannot eat. Don't worry, they aren't permanent dietary limitations and restrictions. They are only in place throughout your recovery time to ensure that you recuperate swiftly and without any setbacks. Here are some foods that are okay to consume following a tooth extraction to make things a little simpler for you. Also, during at least the first 24 hours, avoid drinking with a straw.

Soup

Soup is a terrific post-tooth extraction go-to since liquids and soft meals are your buddies. There are several types, so you won't grow weary of eating the same old thing. The most essential thing to remember is that it should not be hot soup. Foods that are excessively hot may irritate your treatment site, so bring your soup to room temperature or choose a cool soup, such as gazpacho.

Scrambled eggs

Scrambled eggs are another popular choice for folks healing after tooth extraction since they are soft and simple to chew. It's even better that they're a protein-rich, healthful option. Just make sure the eggs aren't too hot when you decide to eat them.

Mashed potatoes

Mashed potatoes are a great comfort meal, and their creamy texture makes them ideal for tooth extraction recuperation. If you're tired of typical mashed potatoes, try making some mashed sweet potatoes instead.

Yogurt

Smooth, creamy yoghurt is delicious and nutritious. In fact, yoghurt is abundant in calcium, making it very beneficial for tooth strengthening. If you regularly incorporate granola into your yoghurt, try to avoid it until your extraction site has healed so that the crunchy particles don't interfere with your healing. Smoothies and puddings are very simple to consume. And if you're feeling really terrible for yourself, indulge in some ice cream. Just avoid something lumpy like rocky road.
