Arabian horses have held a strong sense of mystique and intrigue throughout the ages. Although their origins are somewhat of a mystery, it’s clear that a horse with fine limbs, high, arched neck and proud tail carriage was first depicted in the art of ancient Egypt over 3,500 years ago. In fact, the nomadic, Bedouin tribes of ancient Egypt cherished their horses as more than just possessions. They were a means of courageous defence, their speed and stamina were their strength in battle, and thus their source of security. These treasures were raised lovingly by the Bedouins as family, and their bloodlines were cautiously guarded. Sought after and held in high esteem by the nobility of ancient Egypt, these horses were valued for their beauty as well as their endurance and intelligence. The mighty Pharaohs of Egypt enjoyed fame and honour, conquering vast empires with their gallant steeds.
