CAMDEN PARK STATION SUNSET TOUR Watch the sunset, with drinks and nibbles in hand, as our local station host Lynn shares stories of living and working on the land. Hear how these third-generation graziers manage their mixed herd of sheep and cattle as well as their hay production business.

STRATHMORE STATION SMOKO TOUR Relax with a homestead ‘smoko’ as our local grazier Maree dishes out lashings of Outback hospitality and stories. As we tour the station, learn about Santa Gertrudis cattle and Merino wool production. Hear how these third-generation graziers made water run uphill with their award-winning water system.

You’ll be given a tour of their historic shearing shed, see their artesian bore in action, hear stories of early Chinese water management and spot local wildlife.

Back at the homestead, you’ll have time to wander the tranquil parkland garden and enjoy a traditional homebaked morning tea.

WINTON DINOSAUR MATILDA TOUR Get ready for a day rich in Australian culture and heritage. Your Savannah Guide operator is an expert in interpreting our historic region’s stories. As we travel through dramatic and changing landscapes to Winton, passing huge Outback stations, keep an eye out for emus, eagles and kangaroos.

Step into Winton’s Waltzing Matilda Centre and you’ll discover there is so much more to our most famous song. It’s hard not to be moved by the Billabong Sound & Light show, intrigued by stories of myth and romance in the interactive Home of the Legends room and fascinated by Winton’s history in the Qantilda Pioneer Place Museum. Savour a delicious lunch at the Matilda Centre.

High up on a mesa overlooking endless Outback plains, we’re given an entertaining intepretive tour of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs – home to the world’s largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils. The state-of-the-art Collection Room and 3D Theatre brings to life dinosaurs Banjo and Matilda with amazing animated recreations.

Test your musical talents at Winton’s musical fence. Take a peek into our colonial history at the North Gregory Hotel, the site of the first performance of Waltzing Matilda. Enjoy a wander through this quirky and historical town before journeying back via the Mitchell grass plains to Longreach.

STARLIGHT’S LOOKOUT TOUR

QUEENSLAND HELICOPTERS

Follow the Thomson River floodplains, crossing drovers’ stock routes and legendary Cobb & Co tracks. Visit the tranquil Lily Lagoon bordered by the majestic Coolibah Trees and pass Springvale and Goodberry Hills. Arrive at Starlight’s Lookout once used by the notorious cattle thief Harry Redford or ‘Captain Starlight’. In 1870, it is believed he and his men gathered together 1000 stolen cattle around this lookout. See the amazing ‘Spyglass’ rock and make the climb for spectacular 360 degree views of the Longreach district and the Thomson River channels. A medium level of fitness is required for the 200 metre climb. Enjoy a home-baked ‘smoko’ before returning to Longreach via the Camoola Crossing. A great adventure retracing an epic Australian story.

Enjoy a birds-eye view of our spectacular Outback with a selection of scenic helicopter flights. All flights include expert pilot commentary of the area.
