Boarding at Vinehall is an integral part of our school community, welcoming children from across the UK and around the world. Our aim is for boarders to have fun, make lasting memories, and flourish in our idyllic rural surroundings—a place where children can embrace the joy of childhood for longer.
Located at the heart of the school, our boarding house is a warm and welcoming extended family. It serves as a home away from home, offering a relaxed and comfortable space where pupils can unwind and enjoy a sense of balance, distinct from the rigours of academic life.

Boarding Options

Full Boarding
Our full boarding provision allows pupils to stay with us throughout the week, giving them the chance to fully immerse themselves in the dynamic and enriching culture of Vinehall’s boarding community. From engaging activities to meaningful friendships, full boarding enables children to participate fully in every aspect of school life, making the most of the opportunities available.
One-Term Boarding
For families seeking a shorter-term option, Vinehall also offers one, two, or three-term boarding placements. This provides an excellent opportunity for pupils to experience the benefits of a boarding prep school education, including academic support, extracurricular enrichment, and a close-knit community. Many of our one-term boarders achieve remarkable progress during their time with us, forming friendships and connections that often inspire them to extend their stay or return in future years.

Full Boarding
We offer flexible exeat weekends, giving boarders the choice to remain on campus or spend time with their guardians.
Our vibrant after-school and weekend activity schedule ensures a perfect balance of fun and relaxation, while also providing opportunities to immerse in the rich experiences of British culture. Whether outdoors, indoors, playing sports, or exploring music, boarders are supported in pursuing their interests and passions.

Activities and Trips
Boarding fosters a sense of independence, organisation and responsibility, whilst maximising pupils’ opportunities to participate in all the co-curricular activities we have to offer.
Boarders have numerous opportunities to explore the local area, immerse themselves in British culture, and develop new skills. We provide a diverse range of activities, including cultural excursions, leisure trips, and engaging on-site events. Every weekend, a special trip or major activity is planned to ensure boarders make the most of their experience with us.

Excursions
Boarders enjoy visits to iconic locations such as London, theatre performances, and museums. A highlight of the year is the annual trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
Leisure Trips
Our leisure activities include ice skating, Go Ape tree-top adventures, off-road BMX trailing, climbing, swimming, and water obstacle courses. Additionally, we organise outings to theme parks, the local bowling alley, and Brighton for shopping.
On-Site Activities
With access to excellent on-site facilities, boarders can participate in sports like badminton, basketball, and swimming. Evening activities include movie nights with popcorn, board games, and karaoke. On weekends, students can join a variety of clubs such as art and carpentry, or even playing golf on the on-site 9-hole golf course - ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.



Boarding Facilities
At Vinehall, our boarding houses provide a warm, friendly, and laughter-filled environment where students feel at home.
Located at the heart of the school within the charming Victorian Manor House, the boarding facilities are divided into a Girls’ House and a Boys’ House, offering a comfortable and secure space for all boarders.
Boarding is overseen by experienced and caring staff, including our Head of Boarding, dedicated house parents, and gap students who live onsite and are fully integrated into boarding life.




Location
Located in 50 acres of beautiful countryside in the South East of England, we are 60 minutes from Gatwick Airport and just 90 minutes from Heathrow Airport and central London.
Vinehall School is within easy reach of the historic towns of Battle, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Rye and the coast, only 11 miles away, is a popular destination for weekend activities.


Admission Process
We know that choosing the right school for you child is one the most important decisions you can make. Our Admissions team are here to help you at every step of the process.
1.Apply
Begin by completing the application form and submitting it along with a £150 registration fee. Please also provide a school report and a copy of your child’s passport.
4.Offer
Following the assessment and interview, we will issue a formal offer of a place.
2.Assessment
Applicants will take a computer-based GL Cat 4 assessment. This helps us evaluate their English proficiency and ensure appropriate support is in place.
3.Interview
Each applicant will participate in an online interview with a senior member of staff. During the interview, they will present their passport, discuss their interests, and have the chance to ask any questions.
5.Accept
To secure your child’s place, please return the completed acceptance form along with the required deposit.
VISA
If your child requires a VISA to study at Vinehall, we use Sable International, a trusted global immigration company, who will handle the process.
Guardians
All boarders will require a guardian over the age of 25 and within 90 minutes travel time of Vinehall.
New Joiner Forms
Before your child starts, our Admissions team will reach out with a set of forms to complete, including a medical questionnaire.
