Today was special for the Brite Star little kids. They were off to the Brite Star Fire Station to learn about fire safety!
Mr. Emerson, the bus driver, and teacher Ms. Susan were leading the trip. The kids could hardly wait to meet Fire Chief Mike.
At the fire station, they met Fire Chief Mike. Iris asked, "What does a firefighter do?" Mike answered, "We help put out fires and keep everyone safe."
They saw firefighting gear: hoses, helmets, and more! Ivy curiously asked, "What
is
all this equipment for?" Mike explained, "This helps us fight fires and stay safe."
Then, they saw the big, red fire truck. Joey asked, "Why is the fire truck so big?" "To carry water, equipment and firefighters," Mike replied.
Mike invited them into the fire truck. Excitedly, they climbed in.
Lily asked, "Can we go for a ride?"
With a smile, Mike agreed, and they took a short ride around the station. "Hold tight!" Mike called as the kids cheered with joy.
Liam got to hit the siren. The loud sound echoed, and the kids cheered louder!
After the ride, Mike spoke about fire safety. "Never play with fire," he cautioned. The kids listened carefully.
As they left, the kids waved goodbye to their new firefighter friends. They had learned a lot and had so much fun!
On the ride home, they couldn't stop talking about the fire station adventure. It was a day they'd never forget!
Think About:
1. What does a firefighter do?
2. What is the firefighting equipment used for?
3. Why is the fire truck so big?
4. What did you learn about fire safety?
5. How did it feel to ride in the fire truck?
Let's Work Together: Let's practice fire safety at school and at home, just like Fire Chief Mike taught us!
I will: I will remember not to play with fire and to follow safety rules to keep everyone safe.
The Importance of Knowing: Understanding fire safety is crucial to protect ourselves and others. By following fire safety rules, we can prevent accidents and help keep everyone safe!
