The Brite Star little kids were excited.

Today, they would visit the Brite Star Ranch and learn about farm animals!

Mr. G, Amy, and Missy welcomed the kids and were ready to show them how to care for the animals.

First, they saw chickens. Iris asked, "What do chickens eat?" "Grains and insects!" answered Amy.

Next, they met the soft, woolly sheep. "Why do sheep have wool?" Ivy wondered. "Wool keeps them warm!" Mr. G explained.

Pigs were playing in the mud. Joey asked, "Why do pigs love mud?" "It helps them cool down," said Missy.

Horses were eating apples from the kids' hands. "Why do horses eat apples?" Lily asked. "They're a sweet treat for them," Amy shared.

The class laughed, imagining a horse in Duke's house. The farm visit was full of fun and surprises.

At the cow barn, Stella asked, "What do cows give us?" "Milk, butter, and cheese!" answered Mr. G.

Before they left, the kids were surprised by a big barbecue organized by Mr. G, Amy, Missy, and the animals. "This is the best day ever!" said Duke, enjoying his meal. "It’s our way of saying thank you for visiting," Mr. G smiled.

The visit and barbecue was over too soon. The kids waved goodbye to the animals, promising to return.

Think About:

1. What do chickens eat?

2. Why do sheep have wool?

3. Why do pigs love mud?

4. What do horses love to eat?

5. What do cows give us?
