MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Parents, Alumni and Friends of Villanova College,
St. Augustine wrote; “Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed for others.”

In my role as President, I have two primary responsibilities. The first is to ensure that we, the faculty, staff and parents are true to the founding mission of Villanova College - … “committed to excellence and dedicated to the education of young people, engaging them in their spiritual, intellectual, physical and social development.” It is a mission that I am proud to say has established us as one of the top academic schools in this province.
The second responsibility is to make friends and raise funds. The responsibility of maintaining true to our mission has been made easier through the generosity of many and must continue through our fundraising initiatives for our current and past families, grandparents, students, faculty, staff, friends and alumni. The words of St. Augustine resound in so many of our Villanova community.
This Registry of Donors accounts for gifts made from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2014.
On behalf of all of our students, I sincerely thank each and every donor who made a financial contribution to the School over these years and a very special thank you to those donors who consistently and generously remember Villanova College when considering their charitable donations for the year. You make us a better institution, and we are truly grateful.
As our 15th Anniversary year comes to an end, we look forward to continuing our mission with your support. Over the past year, we redesigned and launched our web site and will introduce a learning management system to improve communication between parents and students and the school. In 2015-16, we will implement the first stage of our Educational Technology Plan with students in the intermediate division and we will welcome the first group of international students from mainland China. The STEM program will enter its third year and in 2016-17, we will have the first graduates from this enriched, focused academic program. We truly have come a long way since our founding in 1999. It would not have been possible without the support and generosity of so many.
It is our goal to maintain our tuition as low as possible while maintaining small class sizes and offering the highest quality education to our students, both in and out of the classroom. It is through your support of our initiatives that we can continue to build towards the future and still maintain a tuition that is significantly lower than many other independent schools.
As these pages attest, the school is indebted to so many. While great teaching and coaching takes place every day, we also know that there is so much more that we can do to bring an even greater richness to our classrooms that will make a critical difference in the learning environment for all of our students.
We look forward to partnering with more families in the coming year as we look to build our theatre, chapel, specialty classrooms and dining hall. With your help, we will help to provide facilities and programs that will further enhance the Villanova experience for current and future generations of students.
Thank you for accompanying us on this journey - a passage to a brighter future!
With sincere thanks and appreciation,
Paul Paradiso
President

Educational Technology Takes Root at VC
The three-year long research, development, planning and implementation process will come to fruition in September 2015. The Educational Technology Plan is designed to benefit all students at Villanova College in the 2015 – 2016 school year. A school-wide wireless environment will be available to increase opportunities for creativity, collaboration and continued development of 21st century skills, all within a structured and supported teacher directed learning environment.
The plan includes:
→ A Windows based laptop program (student purchased) with phased rollout • Implementation in Grades 7 – 10 beginning September 2015 • Grades 11 – 12 beginning September 2016 and 2017 respectively • Grades 4 – 6 beginning September 2016 via mobile lab and on-site equipment

→ Emphasis on development of organizational skills and technological literacy to enhance learning
→ Migration to e-texts and e-learning resources to significantly reduce textbook costs
→ School-wide wireless access with increased bandwidth availability and infrastructure to support
an “e-learning” education program.
In addition, we are excited to provide a more “Connected Classroom” for all students and families beginning September 2015 through a unique Learning Management System (LMS) called Edsby. Edsby is a unique, integrated platform that:
observeexperimentinventanalyze
→ Helps parents stay engaged with their child’s academic success in ‘real time’;
→ Facilitates the flow and integration of lesson plans and provides a platform to support our
teacher-directed student learning;
STEM Program
The VC STEM program is an exclusive four-year academic enrichment program at Villanova College aimed at integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) into a challenging, hands-on, project-based curriculum that uses industry grade software to integrate with classroom data collection and control devices to help teach science, technology, engineering, and math concepts to students through real world applications. The objective of the program is to foster and develop this aptitude for better post-secondary achievement in these challenging fields of undergraduate study. The VC S.T.E.M. program is not just a distinguishing program set up to compete with other schools that offer similar programs - but a program that also gives our students a competitive advantage as they move on to post-secondary school.

→ Provides an interactive classroom environment where notes, lessons, support material, evaluation
and test dates are readily available to students and parents;
→ Provides an improved communication platform for extra-curricular programs and school events
(i.e. game times, practice times, schedule changes, school notices) which also allows for group collaboration (i.e. team pages);
→ Allows users to “push” updates and notifications to mobile devices.
