FROM THE EDITOR How are you going with the great plastic bag change?

Since the beginning of July, both Woolworths and Coles locally have stopped offering free single use plastic bags (by the way, how many of us really only used them once? We used them for all sorts secondary uses in our home).

I myself have now bought approximately 20 plastic bags at the checkout which has clearly done nothing for the environment, but has added to the bottom line of both stores. I understand that I could have taken my own bags, and I now have them in the boot of the car, however when you drop in just to grab a few items, it is easy to forget the bags.

My suggestion is to maybe look at the issue of environmental impact a bit harder Coles and Woolies. Both of these stores would be disposing of significant numbers of cardboard boxes every single day. I would be more than happy to take a single box home with my groceries in it that could then be easily recycled and is far more biodegradable than a plastic bag.

If the aim is environmental, then this request should be a forgone conclusion. However, call me cynical, but I doubt I will see boxes at the counter any time soon. Need an idea how to do that, just look at Bunnings. Their box bin at the front of the store is the perfect way to give customers access to boxes.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR Dear Editor I read with interest your letter, regarding the staggeringly beautiful scenery in the Wolgan Capertee Valley, and from Hassans Walls Lookout. Amazing.

Having a family history that goes back nearly 200 years in the little Hartley area, I would just like to correct those who refer to our area as ‘Hartley Valley’, a new term for our Valley, which has always been called ‘Kanimbla Valley’ - an Aboriginal name.

‘Hartley Valley’ has been adopted by newcomers to the district, i.e. ‘Hartley Valley Farm’, ‘Hartley Tea House’, ‘Hartley Veterinary Services’ etc. - all these establishemnts are in Little Hartley, not Hartley.

All three Hartleys are situated in Kanimbla Valley, the largest natural sunken Valley in the Southern Hemisphere, and nowhere is there a sign to say Kanimbla Valley, as this sign was removed some years ago by invested interests.

‘Why?’ I don’t know.

I wrote to Duncan Gay when he erected the sign saying ‘Hartley Valley Road works, etc’ at the bottom of the Victoria Pass. He took some time veryfying what I was saying as the truth, but finally concluded it to be Kanimbla Valley.

Marcia McEwan, a noted Barister of our area was reared and lived at the bottom of the Pass, and always, as she attests, lived in Kanimbla Valley and she will, at anyone’s request, verify this.

The Kanimbla Valley has many “hamlets’ . On the Great Western Highway travelling West, is Little Hartley then Hartley Vale north and then Hartley near the bottom of

the Forty Bends, westward.

Travelling down Coxs River Road at Little Hartley south west we have Cullen Ben Bong and Marsdens Swamp.

Along the same road travelling down towards the south east we have Gangbenang, Redfern and Glenshea.

So you see the Kanimbla Valley is home to all these locations. As I said before, the largest natural sunken Valley in the Southern Hemisphere, and who at Lithgow Council would know or care? No one!

The sign post at the end of Mort Streeet says ‘Hartley Valley Road’. Heaven help me, does anyone in authority know anything? I’m beginning to wonder.

One more thing - there is a sign part way along the Coxs River Road, pointing down the South East to Gangbenang saying ‘Jenolan Caves’, when Jenolan Caves is entirely in the opposite direction South West up the Hampton Road via the Lowther Siding.

Somebody please listen to what we are saying. Duncan Gay said he would have the ‘offending signs’ pulled down, wherever they were, but you guessed it, they are still there.

Kanimbla Valley, the largest natural sunken valley in the South Hemisphere, I feel that is a bragging right, just not for the District, but Australia as well.

I agree with you entirely - tourists should be informed and made aware of the magnificent scenery and our Historical factuated prominence we have in New South Wales and Australia, especially this area.

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held 28 May 2018, Council resolved to engage with the whole Portland Community and invite submissions as to an appropriate way to acknowledge the Late Ron Bidwell OAM with a report to be brought back to Council for final determination.

At its meeting of 28th May 2018, Council resolved to place on public exhibition the Developer Servicing Plans for Water and Waste Water for exhibition and comment for 30 working days.

Ron Bidwell OAM, who passed away on 31 March 2018, was shortly before named the Portland Citizen of the Year at the 2018 Portland Australia Day ceremony.

He was an important part of the Portland community for many years. In 2008 he was recognized with an Order of Australia Medal for service to business through the establishment of the Australian Sign and Graphics Association, and to the communities of Portland and Fairfield.

He was involved in projects to help Portland’s development and volunteered at many events. A sign writer by trade, he had a vision of using traditional signwriting to help revitalize Portland and was the founder and key driver behind the “Signs of Yesteryear” project which began in 2001.

He was the sole maintainer of the Rotary Park at the entrance to Portland. For this reason, Council has received a suggestion that Rotary Park be renamed the Ron Bidwell OAM Rotary Park.

Council would like to hear the community’s views on this proposal, and any other proposals.

Youth Advisory Council members will take part in project work, plan special events and enrichment programs for the youth of Lithgow. YAC members also have the important role of advising Lithgow Council and the broader community as to the concerns and interests of young people in Lithgow. Joining the YAC is an excellent way to learn and develop leadership skills. YAC meetings are held once a month for an hour after school. The Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) Conference brought hundreds of firefighter volunteers together from across NSW to learn, share perspectives, adopt practices, and establish meaningful connections with each other.

“Fires don’t respect local boundaries, so neither do firefighting intelligence, equipment and techniques,” said RFSA President Ken Middleton.

“This conference provides tangible lessons that can be taken back home and put in place straight away by delegates, and their brigades, districts, and communities.”

“The Conference theme, Protect and Connect, was based on two ideas that are inextricably linked for NSW Rural Fire Service members.

“Our members play a vital role in protecting and connecting their communities, but also need to be ever mindful of protecting their own health and safety, and of building strong, positive connections with each other.

“This conference was the most education laden ever held by the RFSA and was about ensuring our members have the newest ideas and research whilst taking the opportunity to learn from each other.”

The Minister for Emergency Services Troy Grant addressed the conference on Saturday morning.

“NSW communities rely on the dedication and

selflessness of volunteer firefighters to protect their homes, property and most importantly, their lives,” said Mr Grant.

“The NSW Government remains committed to providing our firefighters with access to the best training, technology and research available to support their vital work.”

NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons AFSM also addressed the conference, reaffirming the efforts of the volunteers and expressing his ongoing support.

“I applaud the RFSA for their determined advocacy and ongoing support of our members across NSW. The Association is a core part of the Service and their efforts ensure members can do their job safely while protecting communities across the state,” said Mr Fitzsimmons.

Across the weekend, delegates heard from 17 speakers, with a strong focus on mental health, wellbeing, and resilience. They also discussed traditional topics expected at a firefighting c o n f e r e n c e , including a review on community preparedness and responses to the 2017 bush fires. Other

During my visit, I was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by Coordinator Norm Andrew with Portland Men’s Shed Coordinator Norm Richardson.

ACCC RELEASES REPORT INTO ELECTRICITY MARKET This week I welcomed the ACCC’s report on power prices, which recommends that the Australian Government guarantee reliable baseload power in the electricity market.

The report was much punchier and went a lot further than I thought it would. It’s also vindicated the position of The Nationals, which has been to get more baseload power into the network.

We have some major power users in Central Western New South Wales, which collectively employ thousands of people, and without the Australian Government guaranteeing baseload power there is a real risk of investors walking away from them in the longer term.

The ball is now in the government’s court to implement the ACCC’s recommendations. I’m going to find it very difficult to support the National Energy Guarantee if this doesn’t happen.

While the NEG provides emission and reliability guarantees, I’m concerned that it does not tackle the key element of power prices in a meaningful enough way.

I think the ACCC report also vindicates widespread community belief that power companies were gaming the system and gouging consumers.

The ACCC has shined a light on what the community has known for a long time: that they are being taken for a ride. The task of federal and state governments is to now fix this broken system.

CAREER TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TRIAL COMMENCES IN CALARE Mature age people will soon benefit from increased employment opportunities through the Federal Government’s Career Transition Assistance (CTA) program trial which commences this month in the Central West – the only trial site in NSW. The CTA program provides practical assistance to help older Australians gain the contemporary skills they need to move into ongoing Andrew with VERTO CEO Ron Maxwell and OCTEC Business Manager Andrew McInnes. employment.

Five locations across the country will undertake the CTA trial designed to help older workers become more competitive in their local labour markets through tailored, intensive workshops, designed to build on their skills.

They will also have an opportunity to work alongside other mature age people looking for work and be led by a facilitator experienced in career coaching or professional development.

HASSANS WALLS LOOKOUT

During a recent visit to Lithgow, I made a stop at Hassans Walls Lookout.

Earlier this year I caught up with author Keith Painter at the Lithgow Show and I received a copy of his book ‘Hassans Walls Prized and Pillaged’ which details the history of Hassans Walls Reserve.

Hassans Walls Lookout is a spectacular piece of Australia right here in our own backyard!

We need to let everyone know about it!

With 15% of the population experiencing food insecurity at some point every year, Foodbank and Woolworths are appealing to Lithgow residents to support its national public appeal and help meet the rise in need for food assistance over the winter period.

The 2018 Foodbank Rumbling Tummies report found that more than one in five children in Australia have experienced food insecurity in the last 12 months, with 652,000 Australians seeking food relief via Foodbank each month. Over 1.3 million meals were provided per month to NSW residents, unfortunately however, many are still going without, with an additional one million meals required every month to meet demand.

From July 11 to July 24, Woolworths customers in Lithgow can add a $2 Foodbank token donation to their shop, with 100% of funds raised going to Foodbank to deliver more food and groceries at a time of year when families most desperately need it.

Foodbank Australia’s CEO Brianna Casey, said; “Our Winter Appeal at Woolworths is helping families at a time when it is most needed.

time as securing additional food to assist them.

Woolworths Lithgow Store Manager, Brendan Edwards added; “We encourage our customers to add a $2 Winter Meal Token to their shop, and 100% of funds raised will go directly to Foodbank which offers a vital community service, helping to feed Australians in need. Each $2 donation will help Foodbank provide four warming meals to those in need this winter.”

Woolworths has partnered with Foodbank for more than 16 years and donates on average more than 1 million kilograms of fresh, ambient and household products yearly to help the organisation fight hunger in Australia.

With help from its food and grocery partners like Woolworths, Foodbank provides 67 million meals each year to vulnerable Australians. Foodbank can provide a meal to an Australian in need for 50c - so each donation of $2 will help provide four nourishing meals.

Foodbank is Australia’s largest hunger relief organisation, acting as a pantry to the charities and community groups who feed the hungry. Last year Foodbank distributed the equivalent of 67 million meals (183,000 meals a day) to more than 2,400 charities and 1,750 schools.

SUCCESSFUL MARKETS The old boiler house at the Foundations was transformed into a warm inviting market last Sunday as over 25 stall holders setup in the recently revamped space.

A range of stall holders had everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to hand crafted artisan goods, furniture, hand made jewellery, home made jams and preserves, and of course, coffee and a BBQ run by the Portland Central School.

The market, which will now be held on the second Sunday of each month has found it’s home in the Foundations, with room to expand over the coming months.

“We wanted to create a market that people could keep coming back to each month, so there will be a range of themed markets between now and Christmas,” said markets co-ordinator, Kellie Evans.

The drawcard of the amazing painted silos continues to bring people in, and events like markets are just another thing that will over time help build a tourist economy in the small town.

“Whilst it is hard to have an official number of people that attended, we have estimated somewhere between 700 and 900 people over the day, which we are really happy with given the cold weather,” said Kellie.

The Boiler house is one of the first buildings that has

had any significant renovation with all the broken glass being replaced in the week leading up to the event by Lithgow Glass. This made for a very nice environment with the heaters on and a comfortable space for visitors to browse the large range of goods.

Residents in the Bathurst Electorate are being encouraged to highlight brilliant women in their community, with nominations now open for the 2019 NSW Women of the Year Awards.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole said the Awards recognise women who have demonstrated excellence in business and society or made outstanding contributions, both personally and professionally.

“So many local women pour their heart and soul into their careers, families and volunteer work, strengthening and enriching our community,” Mr Toole said.

FUNDING BOOST FOR NAIDOC CELEBRATIONS IN LITHGOW Bathurst MP Paul Toole has today announced that a local high school will receive funding to help celebrate NAIDOC Week in 2018.

Mr Toole said he was pleased to inform the La Salle Academy that it had been successful in its application for a NSW Government NAIDOC Week grant of $1000.

“NAIDOC Week is an important opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the tremendous achievements of Aboriginal people here in the Bathurst electorate and all across the state,” Mr Toole said.

“I look forward to seeing the success of NAIDOC Week celebrations at La Salle Academy.

“The school intends using the funding so that students can develop knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal communities and culture by immersing students in a variety of activities. As a result students will experience Indigenous foods, dance, music, art and storytelling.”

Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Sarah Mitchell said more than 120 grants have been awarded for NAIDOC Week 2018, which runs from 8 to 15 July.

“I am very much looking forward to NAIDOC Week and all of the celebrations across the state and I am particularly excited for this year’s theme, ‘Because of her, we can!’” Ms Mitchell said.

“The NSW Government is proud to support the recognition and celebration of Aboriginal women under the NAIDOC Week theme for 2018 and we are committed to continually recognise the contribution and achievements of Aboriginal communities right across the state.”

ADFA ENCOURAGES YOUNG AUSTRALIANS TO DISCOVER THEIR LEADERSHIP STYLE The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) is encouraging young Australians to discover their personal leadership style, with the return of the ADFA Open Day VIP competition.

The competition aims to attract young Australians interested in gaining military and leadership training while receiving an undergraduate degree in in the fields of Arts, Business, Science, Engineering and Technology from the University of New South Wales.

Now in its fourth year, the competition offers three lucky entrants the chance to win an experience of a life-time – a two-day trip to Australia’s only Tri-Service academic and military training establishment.

Open to everyone aged 16 to 22 years old, the competition requires entrants to complete a short quiz to

determine their leadership style and explain in 50 words or less, via an online form, why they would be a great future leader.

Commandant ADFA, Brigadier Cheryl Pearce said it is a privilege to be able to give prospective trainee officers, who demonstrate promising leadership potential, the opportunity to immerse themselves for two days at ADFA and consider joining the Australian Defence Force through the Academy.

“The ADFA Open Day competition allows young Australians the opportunity to discover what the Academy can offer as a pathway to a diverse range of military careers, with a world-class education. This is their first step towards a future career as a leader within the Australian Defence Force, and beyond.”

The winners will receive return flights to Canberra, two nights’ accommodation at a 4-star hotel, a merchandise pack and the chance to take part in a range of exclusive activities not on offer to the general public at the ADFA Open Day on 25 August 2018.

This may include a VIP tour of the Academy’s academic and military facilities, a chance to tackle the over-water obstacle course, and exclusive one-on-one time with trainee officers to learn more about their lives at ADFA. Ten runners up will also receive an ADFA merchandise pack.

ADFA Open Day attendees will have the opportunity to browse military displays and learn more about the Navy, Army and Air Force, watch aerial displays featuring military aircrafts, experience a helicopter simulation, witness an armoured personnel carrier section assault, and receive invaluable course information and career advice from ADF personnel and UNSW staff.

LCAP OFFICIALLY OPENS The second year of Lithgows Contemporary Art Prize, or L’CAP, was opened officially at Gang Gang Gallery last Saturday with a great crowd escaping the cold outside to attend the opening and view the artworks.

Prizes were awarded on the day with the wining entrant, Natasha Daniloff taking out the major prize with her work Treasured Layers, an installation created from books her family bought with them when escaping communist Russia.

Ms Daniloff was overcome with emotion after the announcement, retelling how her work is telling the story of generations of her family and is part of a much bigger body of work she hopes to develop over the coming years.

The prize awarded to Ms Daniloff may be the catalyst to see that work come to life, hew prize included a two week exhibition at Gang Gang Gallery in the 2019 calendar.

Two highly commended awarded were also presented to artists Kay Booker and Maryanne Bower.

The proceedings were opened officially by Councillor Steve Ring who has been a supporter of the new prize since the inaugural year last year. Curator and developer of the prize, Ana Carter gave a moving speech in relation to the assistance that owner os Gang Gang Gallery, Sharon Howard, had given her in this second year, and all agreed that the new home in Lithgow’s only dedicated contemporary art space was a much better fit that the original exhibition in Eskbank House.

Throughout the afternoon artists mingled with guests and spoke about their artworks and as the afternoon wore

THREATENED CENTRAL WEST BUTTERFLY GETS HELP FROM SAVING OUR SPECIES PROGRAM A small threatened butterfly, found only in a limited part of the Central West of NSW, is about to receive $20,000 worth of help under the State Government’s Saving our Species program.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole said the funds will assist with the removal of weeds that smother the primary habitat and food source of the Purple Copper Butterfly (Paralucia spinifera), which shares a fascinating relationship with a particular species of ant.

“This rare and fascinating butterfly is only known from 45 sites, all found at an altitude higher than 850

metres above sea level in an area bounded by the towns of Lithgow, Bathurst and Oberon,” Mr Toole said.

“One of the primary threats facing this butterfly is the loss of habitat caused by invasive weeds such as blackberry.”

The Purple Copper Butterfly feeds exclusively on a shrub called Blackthorn (Bursaria spinosa subspecies lasiophylla) where it lays its eggs at the end of its lifespan.

The eggs are tended by a colony of ants who then guard the larvae and escort them to the ant nest and back to the plants to feed each night. The ants protect the larvae against predators and in return the ants feed on a sugary honeydew from a gland on the larvae’s backs.

When fully grown, the larvae return to the ant’s nest to pupate from January until the butterflies emerge in September. “$20,000 is being provided through the Saving our Species program to help the LithgowOberon Landcare Association undertake the removal of mostly blackberry which smothers the Bursaria that the butterfly relies upon,” Mr Toole said.

“A number of the sites where weed removal will take place are private property and travelling stock reserves.

“It’s important to ensure we preserve all native species because they all play a vital part of a natural system upon which we all depend and which helps to provide to our basic needs, clean air, clean, water and healthy soils.”

For the rest of Australia, 16 July marks the launch of the three month opt-out period for the Federal Government’s My Health Record expansion program. In the Nepean Blue Mountains region, most people already have a My Health Record that was created as part of the 2016 Opt-Out Trial.

Submitted by: Wentworth Healthcare My Health Record is an individual’s own online summary of key health information, that is controlled by them, and that is easily accessible by doctors, pharmacists, specialists and hospitals. Over 5.8 Million Australians already have one, including up to 98% of Nepean Blue Mountains residents, with less than 2% choosing to opt-out when the Nepean Blue Mountains was one of only two regions in Australia included in the My Health Record Opt-Out Trial.

Wentworth Healthcare, provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network (NBMPHN), helped lead the Trial and has continued to work closely with primary healthcare providers in the region to increase knowledge and usage of the tool over the past two years.

CEO of Wentworth Healthcare, Lizz Reay said, “I am proud that we lead Australia in digital health adoption through the My Health Record Opt-Out Trial, and that due to its success,

by the end of the year every Australian will have a My Health Record, unless they choose not to.”

“Digital technology is transforming healthcare. It has the power to improve access to services, increase collaboration and facilitate the delivery of safe, high quality and effective healthcare, which ultimately saves lives,” she said.

Having a My Health Record means important health information like allergies, medical conditions, treatments, medicine details, and test reports can all be digitally available in one place. This can help individuals keep track of their own health history and reduce the need to repeat their health story every time they see a healthcare provider, especially when managing complex or chronic conditions. In emergency situations, hospitals can view this information to help them make the most appropriate treatment choices quickly.

“In our region 75% of our general practices are registered to use My Health Record and 70% are regular users, which shows that people in our region are seeing the benefit of using the system. Yet, some people may not realise that they already have a My Health Record,” said Ms Reay.

“The Government’s national expansion program is a great opportunity to remind our residents of the benefits of using this tool, and to encourage them to explore some of the new features. For example, a recent addition is the connection to pathology and diagnostic services where blood, X-ray, CT and other test reports can now be uploaded by participating organisations. This functionality is particularly useful when monitoring changes in chronic conditions and can reduce the need for tests to be duplicated by multiple practitioners,” she said.

“We want to encourage those who haven’t yet used their My Health Record to access it through their MyGov account and to start asking their doctors to upload information, so

Women Living with a Chronic Illness The Blue Mountains Women’s Health and Resource Centre (BMWHRC) in partnership with Lithgow Information and Neighbourhood Centre (LINC) , is running a free, seven week group for women who are living with a chronic illness. “Many women can be overwhelmed by their health condition. They may feel that they have few options, can often feel isolated, helpless and depressed. They may also feel stuck and hopeless about the future and in some cases, angry. SERRATED TUSSOCK IS THE TARGET WEED FOR THE SPRING 2018 AERIAL WEED-SPRAYING PROGRAM. Upper Macquarie County Council will start its next aerial weed spraying program in early September 2018 depending on weather conditions, and is calling on landowners to sign up and tackle Serrated Tussock weed infestations on their land.

Submitted by: David Young The County Council’s General Manager, David Young said that now there has been some rain in the area, surface soils now have enough moisture in them making it suitable for treating Serrated Tussock. We are now preparing for the Spring 2018 program.

“The County Council normally conducts two aerial spraying programs a year and the Spring program is usually the biggest of the two. The Spring 2017 aerial spraying campaign was very successful with over 1,000 hectares of Serrated Tussock sprayed - but the Autumn 2017 program had to be deferred due to drought conditions.” he said. “…. and landholders should be aware that most rural landholdings – whether large or small in size - are suitable for aerial treatment, including terrain inaccessible by ground machinery.” said Mr Young.

Mr Young said “Serrated Tussock is known to be one of the worst perennial grass weeds in Australia, and is on the national priority list for treatment - it spreads quickly and can cause significant loss of production on farmland properties. Not only does it smother out other pasture grasses but it has virtually no nutritional value for stock”….

Tussock on your land or next door you do have a problem, as if left uncontrolled it can take over your property and spreads far and wide as the wind blows it’s fine seed across the region.”

What’s the connection between this 1902 description: “... A. game, Ananias tinned duck, sucking pig a la landlord, Jacob’s potted goat, gutter snipe, Esau’s tinned hare, St. James’ curry, ...”?

The answers to this question will be revealed at a Family History Morning to be hosted by Lithgow Family History Society at the Lithgow Library and Learning Centre from 9 am on Saturday 11th August.

Keith Painter, working on a biography of James McMillan Padley, one of Lithgow’s leading citizens in the early 1900s has been invited by the Society to speak on some interesting byways he has followed in the course of his research, including the connection mentioned above.

Leonie Knapman, well known for her books on the mining towns of Glen Davis and Joadga Creek, will share her memories of growing up as a miner’s daughter in Glen Davis in the 1940s and 1950s.

The event is being conducted in conjunction with National Family History Month which focuses on family history, genealogy, heraldry and related subjects.

NEW ERA MIDWEST SEMI FINALS

A gripping finish to the New Era Midwest Cup minor semi-final at Bathurst saw CSU prevail over Kandos Waratahs 30-26 to advance to the preliminary final next week.

Submitted by: John Fitzgerald Kandos led their rivals for much of the game but the students got home on the back of a late try, putting paid to the Waratahs’ season.

CSU will take their place in the final against the loser of this weekend’s major semi-final.

Minor premiers Blackheath Blackcats will host Orange Barbarians on Saturday 14th in their semi-final at 2.30 pm following the earlier leaguetag major semi-final.

The leaguetag minor semi-final was won by CSU Yellow over Portland Fillies 18-0. This week’s major semifinal is between the competition’s top two finishing sides CSU Blue and Kandos Tiaratahs.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP AWARDED FOR LITHGOW GARDENER

Lithgow Garden Club’s Robyn Da Costa this week awarded Lithgow local Maureen Ford with a Life Membership in recognition for her gardening skills and enthusiasm.

Maureen Ford has been with the Lithgow Garden Club since it's inception in the year 2000. An outstanding gardener, Maureen has been a driving force in organising of exhibits at the Workmens Club and the Lithgow Agriculture Show for many years. Many Championships have been won.

Maureen has great skills as a gardener and floral artist.

Her garden is always a delight to see and is always available for visiting garden clubs. It is an award well deserved.

The outing for July was lunch at the Lithgow TAFE College. A delightful 3 course meal was prepared and served by hospitaliy students and many attended a movie at the Community Cinema after enjoying lunch.

If you would like to become a member of our Club we meet the 1st Monday of the month at 2pm in Hoskins Church Hall.
