During the June 13, 2023, Regular Council meeting, the Village of Ruidoso entered into a contract with DATAMARK. The scope of work will be completed in 3 phases within 36 months. DATAMARK understands the community’s needs and plans to provide property owners with all the tools necessary to make the address update successful. They will work with stakeholders to overcome obstacles affecting local businesses which may be impacted by the re-addressing project and, in turn, impact their licensure, permits, and daily operations. DATAMARK will work with local businesses and stakeholders from the Village to identify companies requiring updated address information and local, county, state, and federal agencies that provide licenses or permits for local businesses to operate. They will research the contacts for each agency along with processes and deadlines for submitting and verifying address changes.

The goal of this project is to enhance and improve the current E911 database and GIS system to further the public interest and protect the safety, health, and welfare of the people of Ruidoso by identifying areas of concern and confusion that can cause critical delays in first responder response times by updating and improving address and location data. DATAMARK will identify local address infrastructure issues and determine how to best understand the complexity of changes needed to move forward.

The team will capture public, private, and local data to build a technology roadmap aligning the needs for a more resilient E911 system to serve the community in critical situations better.
