Village Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) recently presented the Village with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its comprehensive annual financial report over the last fiscal year, which ended April 30, 2022. This is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental and financial reporting. This award is received when a municipality has developed a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy and operations guide, financial plan, and as a way to create communication opportunities with interested stakeholders. The Budget must also demonstrate the spirit of, “full disclosure” and motivate individuals to review the report.

The Budget was presented before an impartial GFOA panel to ensure it met the program’s high standards. This award represents a significant accomplishment for River Forest and its management, and couldn’t be accomplished without the hard work and efforts of Village Finance Director Rosey McAdams and her team!
