Blackhawk Academic, Citizenship Awards
Eighth grade students graduating from Blackhawk Middle School were honored for their academics and citizenship with the following annual awards: Blackhawk Faculty Memorial Award – Criteria: shows respect for adults, peers, and property, excels in academics, participates in school activities and athletics, attends school and school-related activities on a regular basis. Honorees: Carlos Lozada, Agnieszka Gasior, Marisa Santore. Bensenville Education Association Award – Criteria: High academic achievement, citizenship, and responsibility, and attendance in District 2 schools for at least three years. Honoree: Rigoberto Marin-Luna. Fenton Award – Sponsored by the Bensenville Lions Club, criteria is: leadership, citizenship, scholarship, dependability and cooperation. Honorees: Jacob Hortsman and Julie DeGuia. Principal’s Award – Criteria is positive role model, flexible, respectful, hardworking and persistent. Honorees: Gerardo Garcia and Anne Gonzales. Americanism Award -- Sponsored by the VFW, the criteria is: leadership, citizenship, scholarship, dependability, and cooperation. Honorees: Bryan Larsen and Leslie Aguirre. Church Hosts Summer Carnival The First United Methodist Church of Bensenville is hosting a summer carnival July 17-21. The carnival, presented by All Around Amusements, will offer food, games, and rides for all ages on the church grounds, 328 S. Church Road, Bensenville. Mega passes are on sale for $45.
