It’s hard to imagine St Ives Village without Plenty Kitchen & Tableware – and indeed, this year marks its 10th anniversary. We speak to owner Saul Cohen and store manager Tiffany Herbert about cooking, community, and the brands on their radar.

YOU’RE CELEBRATING A MILESTONE BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR. HOW HAS PLENTY CHANGED OVER THE YEARS?

Saul Cohen: “We were the new store 10 years ago and now we’re a staple in the St Ives community. Like our customers, we are foodies at heart, passionate about food and cooking, which is reflected in our huge range of quality products. We enjoy looking for products that are a little bit unique and get excited when we can share these with our customers.”

Tiffany Herbert: “People come by and say hello – we’re more of a destination now. Our customers have fun in our store and say things such as ‘this is my kitchen store’, when showing their friends around. It’s a community.”

WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER KITCHEN STORES?

SC: “We’re food savvy, we’re invested, and we’re involved. We’ve got a huge range too – there are more than 4500 products in our store.”

TH: “I love cooking, and a lot of our customers are in the same boat as us –looking for products that are practical, useful, and high quality at a good price. They ask for our advice and they return frequently to buy from us and chat.”

SC: “A lot of the team has also been here since the store opened – everyone knows everyone by their first names.”

TH: “We may not be all sitting together at the dinner table, but we feel like we are there with them as they plan, cook and entertain. We love seeing pictures of the dishes they’ve made with our products.”
