PREPARE YOUR SKIN for Summer

Whether it’s a trip to the beach or a staycation at a local resort, it’s a good idea to prepare your skin for the harsh summer sun.

Exfoliation

A thorough exfoliation is a great start. Removing dead winter skin will leave you with a healthy glow. Dermaplane or Microdermabrasion are offered as part of our Village Monthly Facial Special and always includes a peel consistent with the season to complete the process. Vitamin C Serum

A vitamin C serum applied in the morning will help protect the skin from free radicals and the sun’s harmful rays. We have just introduced a new product from Yonka that is included in our Yonka Vitamin C Facial. While some Vitamin C products have a short shelf life and can neutralize when exposed to light, this serum has been created to provide a stable form of Vitamin C which is effective for any skin type.

Tinted Moisturizer

Using a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen will give you a sun-kissed look without the sun. An oil-free product like PCA Sheer tinted sunscreen is best to avoid clogged pores. As always keep plenty of moisturizer on hand to prevent flaking and dehydration. Another tip for fighting dehydration is using Hyaluronic serum under your moisturizer. A product like PCA Hyaluronic Boosting Serum will seal in moisture even in our hot, dry desert climate.

Spray Tan

For an all over glow, you may want to try a spray tan. The Village features a technician-applied organic solution from South Seas that stimulates your own melanin to provide a natural healthy look. Receiving a treatment a day or two before your vacation is recommended. It’s best to wait six to eight hours before showering for best results.

Sunscreen

The Village also carries a wide range of sunscreen including the full line of Coola mineral-based products. From lip balm to full facial and body care, Coola will protect all of your skin from UV exposure.
