TRADITION

2

At LESKO, we have made our way down untrodden paths since the very beginning. We are making steps in what we believe to be the right direction, despite the fact that nobody has made them before us. We always welcome new bold ideas and innovative solutions. We believe this is the only way to create bigger and better. We approach the clients’ commissions with the same rigor: with innovativeness and with the goal to find better and unique solutions.

BE UNIQUE The rich joinery knowledge, which has passed on through three generations in the ErznoĹžnik family, got its entrepreneurial framework with the establishment of the LESKO company in 1990. The manufacturing programme was first based on the intricate entrance doors, but over time it became obvious that the clients were more drawn towards high-quality windows of irregular shapes and special orders. An LESKO, we made our first big technological step forward in 1998, when we enriched our manufacturing programme with the state-of-the-art technology for the manufacturing of round windows and windows of irregular shapes. As the first and, for a long time, the only company in Slovenia, we were allowed to take pride in the mechanical equipment for the manufacturing of circular window frames. Recognizing that the true value of the tools lies in their correct usage, we invested a significant portion of funds in the machinery, hardware equipment and the expertise of our employees.

With our work, we strive towards the best possible combination of the traditional jointer’s knowledge of working with the most demanding timber windows and the advanced mechanical and programme solutions. We believe in the fusion of tradition and modernity; in the collaboration between older and younger generations; in the concordance between the richness of experiences gained through years of work and the eagerness of spirit, one that only the youth can provide. Today you can encounter a great array of windows in our manufacturing programme: from the most intricate shapes and modern solutions to the replicas of vintage windows with contemporary features of window sealing and soundproofing. We do not yield under even the most challenging commissions, which is evident from one of our most imminent references: the LESKO windows adorn Constantine Palace in St. Petersburg, the most important presidential residence in Russia.

We have been dissuaded from our first idea to assemble circular window frames for other bigger manufacturers by the unfavourable reality of the business. However, it turned out that the first disappointment led to something beyond our wildest dreams: we became the leading specialised manufacturer of complete window solutions.

LESKO WINDOWS THE ANSWER TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS Creating your own home is a feat that the majority of us undertake only once or twice in our lifetime. Such an important investment requires a number of sensible decisions, a considerable amount of our time and last but not least, financial resources. Therefore, choosing the right contractor essentially means giving them the permission to enter our private lives and entrusting them with our most precious possessions: our well-being and that of our family.

At LESKO we are well aware of the responsibility we are taking on with every commission. Quality production, high-level aesthetics and precision of installation are the qualities we strive for with every product. Every LESKO window, panoramic wall or external door is the answer to the most demanding of your requests, a product you will continue to use for many years to come.

ENJOY THE COMFORT OF LIVING AND DURABILITY LESKO windows are a combination of modern technology and the best wood, which ensures the client’s safety and makes it possible for them to enjoy a natural atmosphere. At LESKO, we have gained our rich experience and vast knowledge through more than 20 years of working with wooden fixture’s manufacturing. To satisfy our client’s most demanding needs, we use the best materials for our products and the reliable furniture framework of the highest quality. Consistency at manufacturing and accuracy at installation guarantee our clients the highest comfort of living and durability of our products.

FOR YOUR COMFORT AND THE COMFORT OF YOUR LOVES ONES 5

MODERN TECHONOLOGY

THE EQUIPMENT At LESKO, we are proud to be using the youngest generation of innovative CNC devices and the new generation of blades for the high-quality kerf wood processing while manufacturing our window frames. That is how we manage to complete even the most demanding orders; we achieve extreme precision with our products while providing easy and fast procurement.

CORNER JOINTS LESKO windows are long-lasting, because they are generally made with classic corner joints, with which we use open or closed tenons. With these joints we achieve greater stability and minimize the bending.

6

ADHESIVE BONDING OF GLASS LESKO windows generally have insulation glass installed with the technique of the adhesive glass bonding. In other words, the glass and the casement are tightly bound, which provides a better casement stability, better thermal insulation and better air tightness. It also prevents the emergence of condensation in the chamber between the timber and the glass.

THE ADVANTAGES OF TIMBER WINDOWS At LESKO we have been especially dedicated to timber during the last decade. Timber is one of the materials that accompany a person from their crib to their grave. Nature is kindly giving it to us in enormous quantities and with optimal features for living and woodworking. We are connected to timber, because it’s nice to the eye and warm to touch, and it gives us the opportunity to carry out extensive woodworking, while being safer than the artificial materials, much kinder towards nature and ultimately, a renewable source. Timber windows do not just provide a better sight to look at, but also better functionality, since the timber breathes and

provides a better microclimate in the living areas, because it absorbs the excess moisture and only emits it back into the area when necessary. LESKO windows are also appropriate for energy efficient and passive houses, because we achieve the highest functionality of timber windows with extremely low factors of thermal and acoustic conductivity with the newest construction and glazing solutions. Irregular shapes of the windows are almost impossible to get from any other material but timber. Ultimate adaptability, offered by a material as universal as timber means that the client could envision windows in almost any shape and form.

TIME TO REPLACE YOUR WINDOWS

Anyone with a couple of decades old house, sooner or later faces the question of window replacement. The first thought about replacing the windows usually crosses our minds when we notice the heating bill becoming bigger and bigger as the years pass or when we feel the uncomfortable draft at our feet, although all the windows and doors are firmly shut. Perhaps we notice the living room shake when a truck drives past our house, or the screams of playful children that invade the room all the way from the backyard. To add closing difficulties, bent frames and the natural wear and tear to that and there is no more space for passing thoughts but only firm, concrete actions.

“EKO FUND” SUBVENTIONS Non-refundable subventions are available for: • old window replacement • energy efficient constructions that fit the tender

Public tenders are published by EKO FUND and are usually available for the current year. More about the current tenders on www.eko-okna.si

IRREGULARLY-SHAPED WINDOWS The irregularly-shaped windows are the flagship of LESKO manufacturing. Thanks to these products, we have become known among the most demanding clients abroad. Excellent technological equipment and profound knowledge of the programming options enable us to produce windows in almost any shape: round, ellipse-shaped, wavy, leaf-shaped, with round and winding edges, in short, misshapen in every way. To add an especially luxurious appearance to the windows, variously-shaped muntins can be adhered. They add a unique, one-of-a-kind look to the windows and thus to the building as a whole. As well as with windows, there are virtually no limitations to the shapes of the muntins; they can be like daring tendrils of irregular shapes, rich, branched tree shapes or the more sophisticated regularly-shaped crosses of classical appearance. DOUBLE CASEMENT WINDOWS The renovations of buildings listed under cultural heritage protection often include the demanding reproduction of complex windows. Numerous references confirm that LESKO handles this kind of window production very professionally and meticulously. We persistently look for the best solutions for windows to preserve their vintage appearance and still offer the full functionality of modern windows. We achieve that by using innovative approaches, putting our expert knowledge and invaluable experience to practice and using state-of-the art technology.

THE EXPERT OPINION “The original timber window reconstruction gravely affects the whole visual appearance of a cultural heritage building. When renovating old windows, it is essential to take into consideration the historical bases of window manufacturing, be it with its proportions, shapes, decorations or with profiling. If these elements are not considered and new, simplified windows are installed, ones that don’t reflect the original appearance, the protected cultural heritage building can lose in its value.

At LESKO they produce timber windows that meet all of the above criteria for renovating old windows and at the same time they abide by the current standards for glazing and installation. The woodwork experts at LESKO carry out their activity on a highly professional level. They meticulously recreate high-quality windows and doors on the most important cultural heritage buildings, such as the secession Urbanc palace in Ljubljana.” Tatjana Adamič, Conservator Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia 23

Symmetrically positioned handle on a double casement window with an additional spacer bar.

THRESHOLD

FOR THE PATIO DOOR The threshold GU MD, with 35 cm of height, offers double closing and insulation. We recommend it on every threshold where the entering and exiting frequency is high. The same threshold, only with 65 cm of height, can be used for the classic PS and PSK sliding systems (Patio S/Z/PS). In case an even lower threshold (from 20 to even 0 cm) is desired, a single insulation system is installed, which isn’t recommendable for exposed areas.

WIDE OPEN FOR RELIABILITY

28

HARDWARE The majority of today’s windows is equipped with the hardware for a combined opening, which allows us to open the windows wide or tilt them. At LESKO we generally use quality and durable hardware from ROTO manufacturer (NT E5 type), whose mechanism is mainly hidden in the crease between the frame and the casement, while only the top and bottom bearings are visible.

ROTO NT E5

ROTO NT E5 hardware is used for windows with the weight of the casement up to 150 kg. For the windows of bigger dimensions and mass (ex. large balcony doors and panoramic windows or doors with the weight of the casement up to 300 kg) we build in the ROTO NT PowerHinge hardware. We also offer the inbuilt of ROTO NT DESIGNIO II hardware, which is invisible and completely hidden in the frame. Such an assembly is possible for the windows with the weight of the casement up to 150 kg. Vintage and box frame windows are equipped with special stylistic hinges, the replicas of the vintage ones.

ROTO NT DESIGNO II

ROTO NT POWERHINGE

HANDLES FOR WINDOWS Clients have the option of choosing their own model, material and colour of the handle in concordance with the style of the windows and the building into which they are being installed. With the traditional and modern windows we usually advise the Hoppe handles, which offer the best combination of quality, design and price. In the lower price range, the Brest and Toulon models are in the lead, whereas in the medium price range the models Amsterdam and Dallas are the most popular.

We all appreciate well lit spaces, yet there are occasions when the sunlight is too bright. With new construction projects we advise the usage of exterior concealed systems of rolo blinds or exterior venetian blinds. We work with suppliers such as Roltek, Tehrol, Dekor senÄ?ila and Roletarstvo Medle.

With renovations or replacement of older windows we usually encounter built-in roller blinds. We replace the built-in roller blinds for those clients who wish to preserve such a style, but with a newer rollbox that contains a more effective insulation component, which we can also hide under the plasterboards. Wooden shutters are still a frequent choice, since they provide a unique aesthetic value to the house. We take care of the supply and the installation of the interior blinds: internal venetian blinds or the plissĂŠ blinds.

INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE At LESKO, we are very much aware that the quality of our windows is conditioned by the quality of its installation, which is why our own experts, specialised in various ways of inbuilts, carry out the installation. After installation, we can arrange maintenance and corrections in certain time frames. The installation is carried out according to RAL guidelines and can be done in multiple ways, but they all have to insure the following: the airtightness of the gap between

the window and the wall, protection from downpours and a layer of insulation that doesn’t absorb the moisture from the wall or the room. At LESKO, we recommend the installation with the closedcell insulation foam LESKO FLEX 7IN1, instead of the polyurethane foam and additional external insulation strips, typical for the Slovene market. The LESKO FELX 7IN1 system meets all the necessary requirements and enables a quality installation of new windows and a quick replacement of the old ones without any additional joinery work.
