TYPES OF PILES (HEMORRHOIDS) 1.1.Internal InternalPiles Piles

 Internal hemorrhoids are much more common that external hemorrhoids. Internal piles occur 2 to 4cm above the opening of the anus.  They are usually painless because there are few pain-sensing nerves in the rectum. Bleeding may be the only sign of internal piles.

Internal hemorrhoids are again divided into 4 degrees or grades. Those are:

Those are: Grade 1 or First degree Piles

Grade I piles cannot be seen or felt from outside. Small swelling is seen on inner lining of anus.

Grade 2 or Second degree Piles The piles are protruding out of the anus whenever there is an effort to defecate. After passing the stool, the piles go back inside. They are larger in size than the 1st grade piles.

Grade 3 or Third degree

This is almost similar to 2nd grade piles but in this case one has to push the pile mass inside with finger. The piles come out with defecation effort but go back only if they are pushed back manually.

Grade 4 or Fourth degree

In this stage, the piles are permanently hanging out of the anus. They cannot be pushed back inside.

 External piles occur on the outside edge of the anus.  They are often painful.  They can be very distressing and painful when the blood clots in between them and there is swelling and the inflammation is irritating the nearby sensitive skin.

CAUSES OF PILES (HEMORRHOIDS)  Low fiber diet.  Pregnancy.  Prolonged sitting on the toilet may increase pressure within the hemorrhoid blood vessels.  Constipation.  Obesity.  Diarrhea, both acute and chronic.  Colon cancer.  Previous rectal surgery.  Lifting heavy weights regularly.  Coughing.  Sitting on the toilet for too long.  Straining when passing a stool.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF PILES  Itchiness in the anus area.  Mucus discharge when emptying the bowels.  Pain while defecating.  The anus area may be red and sore.  Bright red blood when doing a bowel movement.  When passing a stool the person may strain excessively.

 The external ones exist as painful inflammation or swelling.  After going to the toilet, a feeling that the bowels are still full.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO  Avoid Constipation.  Sitting in warm water several times a day can bring relief.  Wash the area gently and dab on petroleum jelly to protect the skin.  Wear loose underwear and clothing.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO  Use soft toilet paper and dab rather than wipe.  Do not strain on the toilet as this can make piles worse.  No lifting heavy weights.  Avoid constipation by eating a fiber-rich diet and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

HOME REMEDIES FOR PILES ( HEMORRHOIDS )  Drinking radish juice.  To reduce pain due to piles, mix one ripe mashed banana in a cup of milk. Have this mixture three to four times a day.  Increase your intake of fluids.  Increase your intake of fiber foods.

Strain and drink this water twice a day.  To reduce the pain felt due to piles, drink buttermilk to which rock salt, ginger and peppercorns has been added. Have this twice a day.  Powder dried mango seeds. Mix two teaspoons of this powder with a little honey and eat this twice a day.

Have this two to three times a day.  Turmeric has antiseptic and healing properties. Therefore, eat a teaspoon of ground, fresh turmeric root.  Wash 3-4 figs. Soak in a glass of water over night. Eat them first thing in the morning. Again repeat in the night.
