V: As a new face in the industry, I would like to know a little bit more about your story when you decided to become an actor. So, when did you realise you wanted to make this job a professional career?
I have a huge love for “The Brit School” if I didn’t go to that school, I probably would've chosen a different career.
Jordan - I wanted to make this job a professional career when I was 16. I just got accepted to “The Brit School” to study theatre and it was the first time in my life that I was surrounded by people who wanted to make a career in acting. The teachers were amazing, they brought in people from the industry to talk to us about what it’s like being a professional actor and we had an opportunity to attend a workshop with them as well. I have a huge love for “The Brit School” if I didn’t go to that school, I probably would’ve chosen a different career.
ship group. The way we would insult each other’s mums, clothes or someone’s haircut, it was a way of us showing affection to each other, and that was very evident in the script. When I read about the situation these three boys got themselves into, I found it hilarious - I couldn’t stop laughing! That’s when I knew that I wanted the role. V: I love that your character is quite roguish, and at the same time, he is a bit shy. What are your favourite traits of him?
V: Gangs of London is one of my favourite series from 2020. You have an appearance in ep 5, so I was wondering, how was it like to be part of this action-packed show?
Jordan - It was so much fun when I tried to play cool, especially when I was in a scene with “Sophie” who is played by Kassius Nelson. Every time we did a scene together It gave me licence to be roguish & shy which was so much fun to play with!
Jordan - I was over the moon to be a part of Gangs of London! Working with Gareth Evans was such an amazing experience, and to be honest I was really scared because it was the first time I was working on a project on that scale! But when I got over my fear, I had so much fun! I love watching action movies / Japanese Anime, so being a part of a project like Gangs of London was so exciting.
V: What was the first thing you did to research and approach this role? Jordan - Music... I did a lot of research into garage music because I didn’t listen to it whilst growing up. It was fascinating how garage shaped so much of the London culture, e.g. the dance moves, the garments, the clubs! I spent so many hours on YouTube looking at clubs like “Club Colosseum” because I wanted to get a sense of what that experience was like. It was such a vibe! I kinda wish I was in my 20’s around that time so I can experience it myself.
V: As a girl from the 90s and a huge fan of the iconic movies from that time, I must say Pirates seemed like a nostalgic trip to those years of joy. I watched the movie this week and I liked it a lot. What was it about the script that sparked your interest in getting the role? Jordan - I loved the relationships between the three boys, it reminded me so much of my friend-

I can’t wait for people to see that I can do more than just comedy.
V: Pirates is set in the 1999s, I saw there are a lot of references from the 90s, was it hard to connect with that time? Jordan - Luckily, I had a lot of time to spend with Reggie Yates, because without him, it would’ve been very hard to connect with that time. He organised a phone call with loads of musicians & DJ’s from that era, and having that opportunity to speak to them about their experiences helped massively! Especially when it came to technology, slang and flirting with women. V: I imagine shooting this movie was a lot of fun, but I was wondering if there was any challenge involved in the process of bringing the character to life or a specific scene while filming? Jordan - 80% of the film is shot at night time, so for three weeks straight, we started work from 6pm 6am... I find it very hard to sleep during the day, so through-
out most of the film, I was sleep deprived. That was one of the most challenging part about the shoot. V: Friendship is very well portrayed in the movie, and the chemistry between your castmates is also very well achieved. How was working alongside Elliot Edusah and Reda Elazouar? How did you guys do to get to be a credible group of mates on screen? Jordan - Elliot Edusah has been like a little brother to me for 9 years! He was a year below me at “The Brit School” and “LAMDA” - the casting team for Pirates had no idea! So when we were acting opposite each other it was such an amazing experience, not only is he a hard worker and talented but also an amazing human being. Because I’ve known him for so long we weren’t afraid to be honest with each other and that built a trust that was needed in a project like this. When I first met Reda Elazouar in the audition room, we instantly clicked. His energy, charisma and comedic timing was so on point, that it allowed us to explore our characters off the page. As well as prior to the audition, Elliot and Reda had just finished filming “Outside The Wire” so they already knew each other! Also Reggie organised a weekend in Suffolk which allowed us to have time to bond and build these characters together, we created a backstory about what our school ...
life was like and took inspiration from Reggie’s friendship as well. V: You have exciting projects coming up, you are currently shooting a role in Steven Spielberg’s follow up to Band of Brothers, Master of the Air for Apple TV. You have been cast in Dolly Alderton’s Everything I Know About Love for the BBC and has been announced in Lifetime’s Flowers in the Attic: The Origin. What excites you the most about each of these new challenges? Jordan - Every single character is different, that’s what excites me! ‘Flower’s in the Attic The Origin’ my role was a mechanic in America during 1930’s who had fallen in love with man; In ‘Masters of the Air’ I played a man serving in the armed forces, and in ‘Everything I know about Love’ I was a sweet but awkward lawyer. It was so exciting how different each project was and I can’t wait for people to see that I can do more than just comedy. V: Last question, as my nationality is Argentinian, I’m curious to ask you if you have ever seen or experienced any type of art / culture from Argentina? Jordan - Unfortunately I haven’t, I’ve only seen a documentary on ‘Diego Maradona’ and I follow Argentina when they play football because I’m fan of Messi. One day, I would love to travel to Argentina and really see the art / culture there.
