Riverview Veterans & Armed Forces Association
is Focused on Veterans and Outreach
T
he Riverview Veterans & Armed Forces Association, says President David Bayerle, is dedicated to veterans; “we are all about finding information that benefits Vets and that Vets are interested in. “Most of that relates to family, health, wellbeing, the things we can sometimes take for granted. Sometimes when we struggle in life, we can lose sight of getting help for ourselves. We look for opportunities to give that outreach to help Veterans and their families make those connections to each other and to resources. “We have also developed a program which is geared to helping veterans and their families
when veterans are in the hospital. Sometimes even something simple, like the fact that parking at a hospital can be expensive, can be difficult for veterans, so we try to offset the cost of that. We help transport our veterans to appointments. We have a good group of people that are within arms reach to provide that support.” Bayerle says the association helps connects Vets with a range of resources for support. “Guitars for Vets is a great program. I have used it myself. It is geared to help with PTSD. There is so much value. As the saying goes, music soothes the Continued on page 3
