A MELANGE: Living Out of a Backpack
Melange is a home for a group of backpackers who has come from all over the world, unaware of each other and the exciting experience they are going to encounter. Located near a very busy beach of san Sebastian, Spain, The project focuses on creating a sub space to every main space or activities, so that the users can find their own corner as and when needed, allowing the interaction to happen only in the main spaces. The spatial composition also plays with the intersections of curves and lines, which allows to create playful and eclectic interiors within the spaces

The design intent is to create
• a space that allows the travellers to be active, cheerful.
• space which encourages interaction among the travellers and allows them to feel free and comfortable around each.
• spaces for interractive recreational activities, which allows them to mingle up as well as find their own nook as and when required

03|REIMAGINING THE VERNACULAR
CRAFTING MY THOUGHTS
‘Crafting my Thoughts’ reimagines the various vernaculars of crafts in Gujarat. It translates them into my narrative of how I perceive them. The project focuses on 2 main outputs of the studio, Game design and storybook illustrations (A Rolling Pumpkin). Reimagining the Play, is about designing a board game for Kids, contextualizing one of the crafts of Gujarat. Hence my project, Bandhan takes inspiration from the craft of Bandhani. The inspiration is flourished from the field visit to the various craft clusters in Kutch. The visit to craft clusters were documented in the form of a field diary which is put up in miscellaneous section.
RE(IMAGINING THE PLAY):
Boardgame based on Bandhan
INTENT:
Re-imagining the Play, is about designing an educational board game for Kids, contextualizing one of the crafts of Gujarat. Hence my project, Bandhan takes inspiration from the craft of Bandhani. The inspiration is flourished from the field visit to the various craft clusters in Kutch. The boardgame runs with the narrative of earning points to collect the raw materials for a perfect wedding attire for 4 cultural communities and hence getting to learn about the traditional costumes or clothing of that community.

CENTRAL BOARD
THE ROLLING PUMPKIN: A Folklore Story
in the context of Kumaon, and is inspired by the graphic style of Rohan Dahotre. The story revolves around an old lady longing to meet her daughter, who lives across the deadly jungle with her husband. The illustrations are a made with mix-media technique, where the charachters are done manually with watercolours and the backdrop is done digitally on sketchbook.

STUDIO IMPRESSIONS: A PRINTMAKERS OFFICE
This studio focuses on designing an office space and producing working drawings of all the electrical and hvac with reflected ceiling plan and flooring plan. the design is explored through just one material, GI (zinc coated MS). The office space is divided into 30% workspace and 70 % workshop. since printmaking is traditionally a manual art making process hence the office design is derived to look mechanical and slender.

DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS: CEPT FOUNDATION PROGRAMME
This section is a compilation of my works from foundation year and second year, where the studio excersises focused on developing the skills and the process to go about designing spaces. The process involves studying an architect and his style to create a spatial montage with the elements they use in their drawings. Also primaraly studying and disecting object helped to understand its working and joineries. Secondary case studies also helped in understanding the concept development and derivation of a design from it.

As a part of my winter school, I designed a conversation bench. the idea of whic is rooted in the philosophy of designed obsolescence, which by understanding is a profit making approach, where the product is designed with minimal use of resources for it to get obsolete.
