Company History and Values
1974
John P. Wogan begins retailing furniture in Dunleer, Co. Louth, Ireland.
1983
Furniture Link International established. John could see a gap in the market for lower cost furniture than what was being produced locally in Ireland and took his first flight to Taipei in Taiwan in 1983. John then bought the premises at Market Street in Ardee in 1983 which had substantial warehousing and allowed him the space & capacity to start importing containers directly.
1981
John P. Wogan imports his first containers from Holland.
1989
To accommodate the growth of the business, Furniture Link move to 100,000 sq ft. premises in Dundalk, Co. Louth.
1990s
This was a period of sustained growth for Furniture Link International.
There was a sustained move from a sourcing model that was dominated by Malaysian produced dining products into a more rounded product range which began to include sofa. By the mid 1990’s China had become the dominant source of supply.
Then in 1998 Furniture Link was one of the earliest companies to enter Vietnam and sourcing of Vietnamese produced goods began.
2006
Begin working with product designers to develop collections.
2005
Opening of largest furniture facility in UK and Ireland of the time at 200,000 sq. ft.
2018
Appointment of Alan Wogan as Managing Director.
2013
Acquisition of Wilkinson Furniture business in the UK.
2020
Company organisational restructure which included formal appointment of VIDA’s executive team, directors and senior leadership team to better position the company for future growth.
2023
UK move to a new upgraded facility in Manchester.
2012
Exhibit for the first time at Chinese International Furniture Fair to sell Furniture Link designs to retailers from across the world.
2015
Rebranded as VIDA Living. Opened office and showroom in Vietnam with expanded production team in Asia.
2022
Welcome return to international travel and buying after a 2 year gap due to the pandemic.

Generally speaking, bespoke product journey can take up to 9 months from design to receiving stock to UK or Ireland. The timeline below highlights the key points in that journey.
1 MONTH
Concept, Design and approval of drawings
1-3MONTHS
Sampling and review of samples by video call (Physical review of samples if sent by container will add significant time to this deadline. Airfreight of samples is expensive)
2 MONTHS
3 MONTHS
Production on approval of sample (75-100 days)
Shipping/Delivery Asia to UK / Ireland
SERVICE AND DELIVERY PROCESS
Ordering Options
Orders below £500 are accepted but will incur a delivery fee, determined by weight, size and delivery location.
Delivery Costs
Free Delivery: Available for deliveries to customer warehouses, typically located on industrial estates, with sufficient access for our 18T trucks. Customers also have the option to collect orders directly from our depots.
Direct-to-Site Deliveries
For deliveries to residential, commercial, or locations with challenging access unsuitable for our 18T trucks, we use courier partners. These deliveries incur a fee based on weight, size, and destination.
Global Supply Chain and Direct Container Service
ENVIRONMENTAL & ETHICAL PRACTICES
We take our responsibility to future generations seriously. As such we only use sustainably sourced wood and all our products are created with EUDR Compliant Timber. We were FSC CoC certified in 2024.
Our Marine, Pacific and Adira Mattresses have been developed with both the environment and your sleep in mind using SEAQUAL® YARN. The SEAQUAL INITIATIVE is a unique collaborative community that works with ocean clean-up programs around the world to transform the marine litter they recover into Upcycled Marine Plastic; a new, fully traceable raw material with the power to raise awareness of the issue of marine pollution and highlight those helping to fight it.
