Vida Hall Student Nurse I can't thank Vida Court enough after the sudden passing of my father, we had the hardest decision to place my mother into a care home.

From my first initial contact with Vida Court I knew this was where I wanted my mum to stay. My mother moved into Vida Court in April and the staff have been absolutely amazing settling my mum in so quickly. I can honestly say my mum is flourishing now, it’s actually the happiest we have seen her in quite a few years. I cannot recommend Vida Court and the staff enough they work so hard to give them such a good life.

As a wellbeing facilitator everyday is different. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the effects that my work has on our residents, being able to make someone smile and laugh is such a precious feeling. For me, wellbeing isn’t always about doing, being active in a resident’s space and allowing them to have someone to speak to, hold and bring comfort to them, is just as important. Encountering breakthrough moments with residents who may struggle to engage or may present with challenging behaviours is an incredible feeling, knowing you have had an impact, even if it is just for a few moments, is very special.

The patience and care shown by the staff is exemplary. They manage to diffuse difficult situations and still keep cheerful. There are activities for the residents most days and Team Talk, which provides family and friends with information and keeps us updated. If your loved one is very sadly unfortunate enough to require dementia and other care, this is the place for them.

I would like to highly recommend Vida Grange as an excellent specialist dementia care home. My husband has been at this facility since May of this year to the present day and I have found all of the staff from reception, maintenance, kitchen, laundry, cleaners, well-being, carers, nurses and administration staff, of a very high standard of caring and professionalism. My husband has only been at Vida Grange Care Home since October but the care he is receiving is excellent. The staff are so understanding, kind and gentle. I live in New York, so my opportunity to see my Mum is limited, and I appreciated your care during my visit today. It meant the world to see Mum being cared for with compassion and patience. Both carers had such apparent commitment that my visit be as successful as the dementia would allow. They made me feel so welcome, and they were very kind. Pre-dementia, my Mum supported my Dad’s work as a vicar they were a double act; I witnessed her dispensing cuddles and kind words weekly to many people wherever they went as part of my Dad’s job. It’s fitting that she is somewhere that treats her the same way she treated others before her illness. It was so lovely to see where she is living and be able to picture her with enormous gratitude. .

Thank you so much for the care plan for my husband. I have to say that it is excellent and I am hugely impressed with the personal approach throughout the whole plan, the clear individual approach coupled with the detailed knowledge and preferences is simply outstanding. I feel that I know him really well having read it, so the whole wider team should feel the same way and be fully informed about his needs which are complex and very unpredictable. Finally, I feel you and your team have achieved your mission of providing personal and individualised care and appropriate ways of dealing with my husband’s unpredictable behaviour. My husband is now back home after a scare in hospital. I want to thank Sajana and Hannah for taking care of him when he wasn’t responsive in the morning and for Sams . help and reassurance too. Fiona has been very supportive this week and the night nurses have been good also when I have stayed late. I want to thank everyone.
