It also gives me the opportunity to see, smell, and hear the elements in which I am passing through.

My body is feeling good. Haven’t been hitting 60 miles a day, however still on schedule. Mentally 1.5 months seems long.”

“Entering an abandoned building & asking the men sitting at a table in a back room the best way through/around the tunnel. They gave me that ‘are you crazy or stupid?’ look. That moment really made me question what I was doing.”

“I really do like people & human interaction, even if I am shy & don’t talk much. Being without much human interaction has been hard. Wild camping is becoming easier the further north I get. The mountains & vast landscape are my favorite place to be.

Mentally, lonely but determined. Physically, my knees hurt but my body feels strong. 60 mi/day is easy!”

“Relaxing at my ‘wild camp’ on top of a pass near Vutudalsaetra. Tucked far off the road. Literally no one knows where I currently am. Vast barren mountains surrounding me.

Time to rest after a long climb and lots of miles.”

“Siting at Kiwis, mist/rain has been falling for the past few days. Was supposed to have a long day but really didn’t want to get back on my bike. Sat at a small table for a long time getting strange looks from locals going in to get their groceries.”

“I feel that I am starting to get things into a routine. I am really enjoying the Northern region. The people are much friendlier up here & very proud of their land. Rightfully so, the landscape is spectacular.

Mentally great! Really enjoying my time. However the monotony of cycling all day is hard. Physically good on my bike, however the hike kicked my butt.”

“Hiking the 7 sisters, it was a good break from cycling.

One of the most spectacular hikes I have done. I really enjoy getting to the top of a peaks, & I did 5. I had a great conversation with the lady at the campground about how special these mtns are. She had a true connection to this landscape and we seemed to understand each other without having to say much.”

“Things seem to always be changing. Good? Bad? I would say both. Makes things harder & unpredictable, yet fun and exciting. On a bike you are able to cover a lot of distance, landscapes, culture, weather, terrain, facilities & amenities change as you move. Physically feel great. Rainy & cold. Mentally highs & lows finding the humor in the lows!”

“The landscape! Everywhere I look huge mtns & cliffs dropping straight into the sea. Snow covered peaks. It is impossible to describe the amazing feeling I get just being apart of this landscape. Something about being outside and among natural features, just me and my self to move through the space.”

“Missed the ferry by 10 min, next one doesn’t leave for several hours. Completely drenched & soggy. Everything in town was closed (except the grocery stores). Went into the ferry landing bathroom, sat on the sink and ate two still frozen, hard in the center jelly filled pastries. No where to go,& soggy wet.”

“I thought that the Lofoton islands would be the highlight of the trip. Everyone I have talked to and all I’ve read online says that’s where to go. And it was spectacular, however the further north I travel the more amazing it gets. Landscape is just as dramatic, and the people are few and far between.

Physically, a bit wet and cold but feeling good. Mentally amazed by this spectacular and unexpected place”

Misty Road To The Solstice

“My goal, be in Nordcapp on the 21 of June to celebrate the Summer Solstice. After crossing through the Nordkapptunnelen I exited into a sea of the most dense fog I had experienced the entire trip. My final stretch to the end of the world was peddling into an empty abyss of never ending fog. Completely opposite of what I had envisioned but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way”

Not Really Done

“It was strange being done but not really. I felt like I couldn’t really celebrate because I still had to get to Kiruna Sweden, and only 5 days to do it. It was a very uneventful end to a long journey.”
