Worked on architectural design and the rendering of images. This experience taught me about the representation of architecture for design competitions and publications. My stay has given me a firm grasp of Cinema 4D and Photoshop. I was able to leverage my language skills by being the liaison during a collaboration with Francois Leclercq Architectes in Paris.

Participated in an international design competition for the Busan Opera House in Korea, and produced technical drawings for a small residential project in LA. VBN China, Beijing, Keen to explore architecture in Asia, I worked for VBN in Beijing and participated in an airport design competition for the Zunyi province of China. The project took first place.

Participated in the design competition: “Land Art Generator Initiative� for a performative art installation in Abu Dhabi. The project required planning and research for extreme climate change. The project was published.

JWT France, Paris Participated in the production of printed advertisements and assisted in meetings as a translator with UK clients while working on an Axe advertising campaign.

DESIGN SKILLS

Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, Kangaroo

I have advanced knowledge in Rhino 3D and enjoy exploring the modeling capabilities of the software. My designing process is often centered on the program due to its flexibility and parametric abilities. Grasshopper allows me to bring greater integrity to my projects.

Cinema 4D

I have a strong grasp of this software; and used it for its quick modeling and rendering capabilities while working at Labtop I use the program to add details to increase the realism of my digital projects.

AutoCAD, Revit

I am greatly skilled in Auto Cad. I used it extensively for technical drawings at USC and during my work experience with Aaron Neubert Architects. I am also experienced in Revit and I used it to complete a pre fabricated housing project.

Adobe Creative Suite

I have gained proficiency in both Photoshop and Illustrator from my studio and professional experiences. While at Labtop this software was the base of my editing work.

PERSHING SQUARE MEDIATHEQUE

This project functions as multiple nodes interacting in a landscape. It brings an important media generator to Downtown while protecting its valuable green spaces as the area densifies.

The establishment of different anchors create connections and tension between the different programs. Users initiate their own progression though the landscape depending on the purpose of their visit. Large programs, such as, media distribution and the conference center create hierarchy, promoting movement between the hubs.

This allows for the placement of recreational area in the field. A network of studios is located within the area allowing for the public to create and play with media.

Pershing Square must remain an important public area of Downtown therefore the majority of the building mass is located below ground.

While remaining accessible to the public, this enables the park to remain cluster free and fluid.

DOCKWEILER BEACH WATER COLLECTION SYSTEM The location of the project along Dockweiler beach allows for a very dynamic programmatic arrangement. The site is exposed to very tough physical conditions including high winds, solar and sound exposure. The expansion of LAX has made the particular site un-developable. The project takes advantage of this issue to develop alternative programs.

The project revolves around the collection of fog and rain water. The site is subjected to fog a third of the year, and with the predictability of the fog movement (west to east with the wind) fog harvesting can be explored on the site as an alternative source of fresh water. A life guard training facility is integrated and requires a lot of water usage for equipment and training facilities, making fog collection an ideal motive to explore.

The program of the building is split between living, resting, training and emergency quarters. The station is equipped to also deal with both ďŹ re and sea rescue operations. These four groups go into designing of the building. Water collection helps deďŹ ne the physical from of the building in its constraints as it collects fog water.

Assemblage of the structure

The main structure is based on the African Namib beetle. Its shell is designed to accumulate water drops which are guided by troughs to its mouth. Its skin is combined of both water attractive and repelling strips

UNION STATION HIGH SPEED TRAIN EXPANSION The new design for Union station had to take into account potential urban development taking place around the site. The station becomes a central anchor to new development, similar to what we find other great cities like Paris or New York, where their development becomes a central theme to the urban topography. For this reason this proposal revolves around circulation of people.

The station itself becomes a platform enticing people outside the station so that they can take advantage of the surrounding developments. These new developments include a community plaza surrounded by grocery stores and retail shops, a new football stadium, new residential development and a culture plaza with a performance hall.

WILSHIRE SCHOOL OF DANCE AND PERFORMANCE HALL

This project is lodged between Wilshire Blvd. and Korea Town. This makes the project well placed to become an important urban node with a public transportation hub within a 2 minutes walk. This project became an art exhibition as well as a performance hall. As a result the emphasis became on the different communities utilizing the building. Primarily drawn as a simple peel of the urban landscape, voids within the piece become the gathering areas of the project. The southern facade is primarily made of perforated metal and wood, where it becomes habitable. The whole skin is also treated as pealing to facilitate southern natural ventilation.

AUDI LIFESTYLE CENTER This project consists of developing a car showroom for AUDI. With LA functioning predominately as a car city, the project focuses on the extension of the public street to intertwine with the extension of the road.

Program is placed during moments of interaction between the two ramp systems within the form. The double ramp systems intertwines the design center, historic archive and showroom creating visual links between the programs. The ground floor is left open to the general public to allow for movie screenings
