LuAnn Nigara: Business Leader in the Design Industry

How does a business achieve excellence and continued growth? LuAnn Nigara, an owner of Window Works, a premier custom window and awning design company, in Livingston, has effective business solutions.

Not only is she a celebrated business owner, keynote speaker, an author of 3 best-selling business books, she is also a significant contributor to the design industry through her internationally acclaimed podcast, A WellDesigned Business®, and authorship of best-selling business books.

Every week LuAnn presents hour-long interviews on topics relevant to how to run a profitable design firm. To date, there are more than 700 episodes, over 4.3 million downloads and it can be found on iTunes, Stitcher, iHeart Radio, and other major podcast platforms. The series podcast, A Well-Designed Business®, covers successful business principles for its design audiences.

With an international audience from more than 100 countries, her Tuesday show focuses with on discussions with designers to determine what makes their businesses succeed. “I look for the secret sauce, that special ingredient(s) that make their firms run successfully,” she says. “A successful interior design business is 20% design talent and 80% business skills.”

In contrast, Friday’s podcast features guests from other business fields who share their knowledge with the design firms to help them run their businesses smoothly. These podcasts fill in the business knowledge gaps designers may have and provide valuable and understandable insights.

An accomplished author, LuAnn has written three books. Her first book, “The Making of a Well-Designed Business®,” an international Amazon best-seller, is the story of the growth of Window Works from inception. This book is a straightforward framework for any entrepreneur launching a new business. The additional two books are collaborative books featuring chapters written by the expert guests from the podcast— topics ranging from branding to finances to team building and leadership.

Along with her husband Vince Nigara and their cousin, Bill Campesi, they own and operate Window Works.
