Dear Sisters,

I've been seeing many wonderful Danish festivities returning this year and have enjoyed the photos, videos and stories I've heard from each of them. And there are many more to come throughout the summer and across the country. Some festivities continue to be offered online-only, but they are no less fun or creative! I hope that all of you are able to partake in some fun, celebrating our shared heritage no matter if it is an online seminar, a parade, a luncheon or some other fun activity. I recently had a lovely cookout with some friends and we ended up talking about each of our family's heritage. I was able to share some things about my family history and Danish traditions, while they shared their own histories and traditions. It is wonderful to hear stories of other people's heritage and to note the differences that make them unique as well as the commonalities that can help us all relate to one another. I highly encourage getting to know more about your friends' history, heritage, culture and interests as talking with others and learning from them is the best way to build a community. Remember, in between having fun this summer, to send along some lodge updates, stories, recipes, photos and more to share with you DSS sisters!

In the summertime, you can find Danes enjoying the many beaches along the coast. Danes enjoy visiting beaches to surf, paddleboard, swim or just enjoy basking in the sun on the sandy beaches.
