Before a crowd of two thou~and frenzied basketball fans, St. Viator defe ated Illinois Wesleyan at t h e local gym nasium Thursday nigh t . Th e final score was 23 to 20. This defeat practically s ha ttere d VVe~ l eya n's hopes of winning a fourth con::;~cuti ve l:as ketball cha mpionshi p, a$ it wa s th eir se ::ond defeat in the confer ence. In th e fi nal q uarter the Iris h baske:teers s taged a great rally to pull the g ame out of t:1 .e fl !·c, after \Ves leyan had pi led up ~ commanding le·1d ln the early part of th ' second period .
