weather d emand recog nition for a share 0f the laudation, No time or effort was spa red t o convert the floor into a state fit f or dan e · ing and a s a r esult it •vas hig hly commended. The xylop hone manipul a tor was without a d o ubt the luminary of the orchestra. He a nd the bass saxophone player tilled the gymnasium with a wailing and a moaning that p erturbed even the sad-faced moon so m ajestically travelling the s ky. The annoying r e· echo that is usuall y found in the big gym was a lmost totally eliminated by locating the orches tra on the ce ntral ~aat side of the building . The pe nnants strung around the running-track and across the rafters lent a decidedly col1egiate ai r to the eve nt and d id much to relieve the monotonou s tone of the walls and the roo!. Th e unique plan of playing a spot-light across the floor Wa<3 a pronounced su ccess and will probab ly be u sed at forthcoming dances. What went far in making the d a nce successful was th e co ngeniality that emanated fro m every one. It is ct:!ticult to discover the so urce of the lVonderfully good humor that possessed the crowd but it was probably p a rtl y due to the twinkling stars and the mellow moon that fil led t he earth with intoxicating romance . Unlike the Seniors to whom the w ea t h er man w a s most unkind, the Juniors w e re blessed w ith heave nly sent weather. The editor wish es to cor rect a misrepresentation which occured in the las t is•ue of the VITORIAN concerning two contributors. The article on "The Poetry of Fra ncis Thompson'' was written by Mr. L eslie Roch, and the article on " Shak e speare'' was written by Miss E . M. Roy. In som e unexpl a inabl e manner, the lin es deoignating the a uthors of these two contributions were transposed. We hope tha t the two persons who were the victims of this mistake will accept this apology. We feel sure however, that the high literary quality of both of the articles involved is sufficient to prevent any reflection upon the relative ability of either writer.
