The GEOfoodEDU project led by Magma Geopark including Katla Geopark (Iceland) and Jardfeingi (Faroes) is designed to strengthen the North Atlantic NORA Region inhabitants’ awareness about the fragility of the ecosystem they are living in and what are the practices they can adopt do to reduce their environmental impact.
The project wishes to Increase or establishing the local network of stakeholders working to promote local food and sustainable practices, collecting local stories related with food, culture and innovative practice integrated within a tailored storytelling for promoting NORA Region within GEOfood brand in the two UNESCO Global Geoparks participating.
The present book is one of the main project outcomes, is focusing on sharing stories strictly linked with the remote areas involved in the project characterized by hard climate and where mythology, culture and knowledge about the landscape and nature has been always fundamental for surviving.
