Visual Art Career Studies Certificate
Can you see yourself pursuing a career teaching art, art history or working in a museum? If your career goals include artistic expression, this program is for you. This certificate is designed for students who plan to work or create in the visual arts field.
Program Length 1 year (2 semesters)
Transfer Objectives Gain visual art credits that will transfer to four year art programs.
Is this degree for you? A career studies certificate in visual art is appropriate for you if you want to further your own artistic abilities and knowledge of art and potentially transfer into a four-year art program.
Tuition & Fees At only $162.11 per credit hour, you’ll save $10K to $22K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-of-state students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.
Marie Porterfield is a visual artist and arts educator who is passionate about cultivating communities of artists who are collaborative, welcoming, and supportive. She teaches courses in studio art and art history. Marie earned a Master of Fine Arts in Art from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from East Tennessee State University.
