Technical Studies in Welding Associate of Applied Science
Interested in becoming a welder? This program provides comprehensive training in Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Metal Arc, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. You will also receive training in Oxyfuel and Plasma Arc Cutting, Blueprint Reading, Safety, and teambuilding. While completing this Technical Studies in Welding AAS degree, you will also complete the Welding and Advanced Welding Career Studies Certificates.
Program Length 2 years (4 semesters)
Career Opportunities With some experience, graduates could qualify for lead Welder, line foreman, or shop foreman positions.

G3 Eligible This program is G3 eligible. G3 Scholarships cover tuition and fees for Virginia residents of modest income who are pursuing high demand careers.
Tuition & Fees At only $162.11 per credit hour, you’ll save $10K to $22K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-of-state students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.
Eddie Fultz has a Certificate as well as an Associate’s Degree in Welding from Mountain Empire Community College. With decades of industry experience, he provides a comprehensive educational experience for students interested in this high demand field.
