Jacob Peloquin shadowed with the VHCC IT Department and earned a Work Study position, Ashley Johnson shadowed at Glade Pharmacy and received a job offer, and Shay Cannon shadowed at Stormbrew Farm and also received a job offer! Smyth County Students:

UB Events: UPWARD BOUND FALL COLLEGE VISIT If you plan to take the SAT, please take advantage of this amazing opportunity for a FREE SAT PREP CLASS! this month!!

Sophomores & Juniors:

The PSAT will be offered at your school this month (see dates on page 2). Please visit your school counselor to sign up! This is also an October stipend requirement for Juniors. Here are some reasons we think it is important: 1. It will familiarize you with the format of the SAT and is a great way to see how the test is administered. 2. Your results can help with your test prep for the SAT. Khan Academy will personalize your test prep based on your PSAT results! 3. Colleges will not see your scores, but after you take the test they might try to recruit you! This could help you learn about different schools and/or scholarships that you might not have considered.
