When your mineral supplier becomes a close business partner...
At Vestjyllands Andel we do our utmost to ensure that you get the best results at your farm. Our feed solutions for sows, piglets, weaners and finishers do not stand alone - the package includes a competent sparring and business partner that you can consult with as needed.
As to home-mixed feed, we have built up our extensive expertise that has led to the launch of unique products developed by skilled and dedicated mineral consultants. By acquiring DanVit and updating our specialised mineral factory in Denmark, we have strengthened our position in this market.
The goal of our quality products, management and feed advice is to improve production results at any farm - including YOURS.
In many cases, a ”fresh pair of eyes” can change the perspective. That is why we hope to get to know your daily routines. In that connection, we offer to assess routines such as serving technique, litter equalisation, nursing sows, optimal use of milk cup systems, feed strategy, feed optimisation and much more.
All in combination with competent management and feed advice. Did you know that... …DanVit has an independent branch in Serbia? This is how we stay close to customers in Southern Europe. Contact DanVit Serbia via Dragan Prokić - Director of DanVit Serbia Tel.: +381 64 4879468 | Email: dp@danvit.com
When providing feed advice, we often focus on the overall finances. Here it makes sense to take a closer look at the feed costs of a produced pig.
For weaners, we recommend analysing the cost of getting the pig to 30 kg. A strong and reliable production mix might be the factor that ultimately means that the pig reaches selling as cheaply as possible and thus contributes to the best possible bottom line.
A feed review can include:
• An assessment of current feeding
• Evaluation of current health status based on information provided by you
• Feed suggestions
• Feed curves
• Advising on grinding profile
Factors we pay attention to during a feed review:
• The needs of your animals
• The herd’s size
• Treatment strategy
• Your raw materials
• Housing conditions (e.g. milk cup system)
Our most valuable product is our knowledge and advising in relation to your possibilities. The advising service is included in the cost which means that you are welcome to contact us at any time if you need advice. The service is free of charge, so any changes in your mix will only be made if you request it or if we see a need for it.
”From
With the ”From 0-100” concept we focus on feed intake already in the farrowing house. What type of feed works best? Is it possible to distribute milk through a milk cup system? When is the individual pig ready for weaning, etc. We also focus on feed intake as early as possible with our popular product VA PlayFeed.
What extra efforts should be made for the smallest piglets in the first crucial days to get everyone off to a good start? Here we will talk about the feed, climate conditions, feeding sites, feeding, availability of fresh and clean water and the ratio between feeding and resting time.
Focus points:
• Growth from day 1
• Pampering the smallest pigs
• Feed selection and composition
• Concentrates, EasySoy, DanProtein, DanVit minerals
We will analyse your feeding strategy in detail. We will compare your production results and the health status. Antibiotic usage and the tools you have available will play a crucial role in creating an individual mineral mix for your animals.
Focus points:
• Performance feeding
• DanVit minerals, available raw materials, grinding adjustments, feed costs
We offer to give an opinion on your feeding system to ensure that symptoms in the production are not caused by incorrectly mixed feed and raw materials of poor quality. Feed computer inputs can often be faulty, making it an easy and inexpensive place to change processes and reduce errors.
The order in which the raw materials enter the mixer can also affect how homogeneously the feed is mixed. Homogeneity ensures that all animals get what they need every time they are fed. If there are any corners where dirt and old feed can hide - we will find it.
The foundation of the herds is built by the young females. If the age, weight and back fat at the time of service are in place, the foundation for good results is made. We help you create mixes for young females that produce calm animals with moderate growth.
Fine-tuning the feeding strategy in the farrowing house can improve the sow’s ability to care for the piglets. Performance can be optimised based on the lysine content of the sow feed prior to farrowing. Controlling feed density and adjusting the feed curve are also some of the focus areas. If there are several hoof injuries in the herd, we can perform a ’hoof score’ based on pictures delivered by you. This provides information on whether extra minerals are needed, or if the fibre composition in the gestation unit needs to be changed.
