Silversmith Des Byrne (age 81) welcomes Martin Dawson (age 89) to his workshop in The Castle Yard, Kilkenny. Des and Martin worked together 67 years ago in 1956 in

Gunning & Son, Church metal workers in Fleet Street, Dublin. Martin travels to Ireland from his home in Chicago twice yearly and always pays a visit to Des to talk and reminisce of old times. Des came to Kilkenny and set up his silversmith business in 1968 and to date, remains in business at The Castle Yard, Kilkenny.
