WHAT ARE THE NYC ENERGY BENCHMARKING REPORT DEADLINES FOR 2022? In May 2017, the New York City Council passed Local Law 84, requiring building owners to benchmark their energy use and report annually to the city. This guide will outline NYC energy benchmarking report deadlines and how to comply.
All
buildings
larger
than
50,000
square feet in New York City must comply
with
the
NYC
energy
benchmarking law. The compliance deadline for 2022 is May 1.
The data is then used to create an interactive "Benchmarking Map" that
shows
how
a
building's
energy performance compares to similar facilities across the city.
The NYC energy Upgrades law is one way
