I

t is best known for organizing Harrisburg Days, one of the city’s most anticipated annual events. However, the Harrisburg Days Foundation and its members are hoping to leave their mark on the community for generations to come.

T

he Harrisburg Days Foundation, founded in 2008, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the city of Harrisburg, S.D. Members of the Foundation are committed to providing events that tie the city’s neighborhoods together as well as providing healthy places to gather and grow as a community.

T

he Harrisburg Days Foundation wants to assist members of the Harrisburg community in achieving their highest potential as they grow to become confident, competent, and caring individuals, by providing committed volunteers, exceptional leadership and standards of excellence. However, the basis of the Foundation is to create a sense of pride among those who live and work in Harrisburg.

Short-Term, Long-Term Goals

Our short-term goal is to create a greater sense of community,” says Harrisburg Days Foundation Vice President Collin McKenzie. “My longterm goal,” says Foundation President Jay Ugofsky, “is to empower others within the Harrisburg Community to get involved and help shape what it means to be part of this community.” Continued on Page 3
