Harrisburg Is Home

CHRIS HILMER

First Day of School

Growing up in Harrisburg has provided a great foundation in many vital categories of life. Many appreciate this much greater, only after they have “escaped” the small town environment. After military experience and other travels, I’m convinced Harrisburg is one of the best places to grow, work and raise a famIly. The common goal of maintaining a sense of community, is thriving more and more each day. It is a blessing to be back and it’s my desire to give back as much as possible.

One way of giving back is to facilitate ZUMBATHON fund raisers for a variety of groups in the community throughout the year. If there is one thing I have recently learned, it is that this community LOVES ZUMBA. If you think it would benefit your organization, we welcome anyone who is needing funds raised for their group to reach out to us and schedule a ZUMBATHON. 100% of the proceeds will go to the organization like; Church youth groups, special Ed department, FFA,FHA, Basketball, Cheer, Cross Country, Choir, Band.......

other grassroots club) Then although it is almost fall, NOW is the time to start thinking about collaborating. The Harrisburg Community Foundation has been working for years to make a central park and a pool a reality. Contact them and offer to help! Do you want more youth activities in our town? An Optimist Club just started in Harrisburg and they would LOVE to have you join them and help make those things a reality. Bottom line is that while we have come so far, we also know that the sky is the limit for our community… if you don’t get involved, you can’t help make the change you are looking for. Don’t be part of the problem. Be part of the solution!

You can contact us on Facebook at Dance Fitness with Chris Hilmer. We also will be holding ZUMBA classes on Saturday mornings starting August 5th at the Academy (10am-11am) and Wednesdays (starting Aug 16th) from 6 - 7pm. Just remember to bring a water bottle and be prepared to melt away your stress with music and fun. There are limited spots due to space so please register to hold a spot. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give back and express my gratitude. Thank you also to all those who get involved and contribute in the community events.
