A Bittersweet Farewell LIZZY CLYDE Twenty-six years ago Mrs. Peggy Devitt began her career at Harrisburg High School, and as she approaches her retirement, we applaud her years of hard work and dedication to our district.

Peggy began as a braillist, working with one visually impaired student for thirteen years from kindergarten until the student’s graduation in 2000. During the years she worked with this student, she found it most rewarding seeing the girl grow, learn, and develop.

Then Peggy worked for two years with an endodontist, a dentist who works on root canals, before she returned to Harrisburg High School. Peggy finds it hard to believe that there were only fortyfive students in the See ‘Farewell’ on Page 7

Snow Alert Policy

Animal Ordinance

The City of Harrisburg will declare a “Snow Alert” when an accumulation of 2” is either forecast for the city or should the city have no prior forecast warning, when the snow plows are dispatched. This could also include blowing or drifting snow that would require plowing.

All on-street parking shall be prohibited on both sides of the street, regardless of the directional run of that street until it has been plowed curb to curb. Section 14: Obstructing snow removal and street cleaning.

No vehicle shall be parked in such a manner or for such a period of time as to unreasonably interfere with or obstruct the removal of snow from, or the cleaning of, the streets in the city. Parking may resume when streets have been cleared of snow completely from curb to curb.

Ticketing will begin when plows are dispatched which could be anytime after the snow alert is issued. Towing of vehicles, trailers and other appurtenances will begin approximately 24 hours after the ticket has been issued.

It is each resident’s responsibility to keep your sidewalks clear of snow and ice. Blowing, pushing, shoveling or placing snow onto the roadways is not permitted. These policies will be enforced on a per-call basis.

Please exercise common sense during the winter plowing season and respect the plows.

The City of Harrisburg is contracted with the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society in Sioux Falls. Any lost animals or animals in violation of city ordinances will be brought to SFAHS, (605) 338-4441.

Owners of any dog, cat, or other animal held as a domestic pet shall license their animals annually and keep their shots up to date the cost of a license is $5.00 per pet per year. Licenses and tags may be obtained at City Hall.

Owners of any dog, cat, or other animal held as a domestic pet shall not permit such animal to run at large at any time. A leash is required at all times. If found, these animals are impounded and expenses and fines are paid by the owner.

The City and Sheriff’s Department receive many complaints of barking dogs. These cases may be considered a disturbance of the peace by animals. Please take necessary steps to prevent this to avoid being fined.

When walking your pet, please carry a bag with you to clean up after your pet and dispose of properly.

Joan Beaner was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in 2013.

On February 23, 2015 she started her first round of chemotherapy and will continue until August. City Of Harrisburg 2014 Drinking Water Report Water Quality Last year, the City of Harrisburg monitored your drinking water for possible contaminants. This brochure is a snapshot of the quality of the water that we provided last year. Included are details about where your water comes from, what it contains, and how it compares to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state standards.

We are committed to providing you with information because informed customers are our best allies.

Water Source We serve more than 4,300 customers an average of 290,000 gallons of water per day. Our water is groundwater that we purchase from another water system. The state has performed an assessment of our source water and they have determined that the relative susceptibility rating for the Harrisburg public water supply system is medium.

Additional Information The sources of drinking water (both tap water and bottled water) include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. As water travels over the surface of the land or through the ground, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals, and can pick up substances resulting from the presence of animals or from human activity.

Contaminants that may be present in source water include: Microbial contaminants, such as viruses and bacteria, which may come from sewage treatment plants, septic systems, agricultural livestock operations, and wildlife.

Inorganic contaminants, such as salts and

metals, which can be naturally-occurring or result from urban stormwater runoff, industrial or domestic wastewater discharges, oil and gas production, mining, or farming.

Pesticides and herbicides, which may come from a variety of sources such as agriculture, urban stormwater runoff, and residential uses.

Organic chemical contaminants, including synthetic and volatile organic chemicals, which are by-products of industrial processes and petroleum production, and can also come from gas stations, urban stormwater runoff, and septic systems.

Radioactive contaminants, which can be naturally-occurring or be the result of oil and gas production and mining activities.

In order to ensure that tap water is safe to drink, EPA prescribes regulations which limit the amount of certain contaminants in water provided by public water systems. FDA regulations establish limits for contaminants in bottled water which must provide the same protection for public health.

Drinking water, including bottled water, may reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some contaminants. The presence of contaminants does not necessarily indicate that water poses a health risk. More information about contaminants and potential health effects can be obtained by calling the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Hotline (800-426-4791).

Some people may be more vulnerable to contaminants in drinking water than the general population. Immuno-compromised persons such as persons with cancer undergoing chemotherapy, persons who have undergone organ transplants, people with HIV/AIDS or other immune system disorders, some elderly, and infants can be particularly at risk from infections.

These people should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers. EPA/ CDC guidelines on appropriate means to lessen the risk of infection by Cryptosporidium and other microbial contaminants can be obtained by calling the Environment Protection Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Hotline (800-426-4791).

If present, elevated levels of lead can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant women and young children. Lead in drinking water is primarily from materials and components associated with service lines and home plumbing.

The City of Harrisburg public water supply system is responsible for providing high quality drinking water, but cannot control the variety of materials used in plumbing components. When your water has been sitting for several hours, you can minimize the potential for lead exposure by flushing your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. If you are concerned about lead in your water, you may wish to have your water tested. Information on lead in drinking water, testing methods, and steps you can take to minimize exposure is available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline or at http://www.epa.gov/safewater/lead.

Detected Contaminants The attached table lists all the drinking water contaminants that we detected during the 2014 calendar year. The presence of these contaminants in the water does not necessarily indicate that the water poses a health risk. Unless otherwise noted, the data presented in this table is from testing done January 1 – December 31, 2014 The state requires us to monitor for certain contaminants less than once per year because the concentrations of these contaminants are not expected to vary significantly from year to year. Some of the data, though representative of the water quality, is more than one year old.

Lewis & Clark Regional Water System 2014 Water Quality Summary In 2014 we delivered over 3.6 billion gallons of water to 11 of our connected members.

Lewis & Clark water originates from wells that tap into an underground source adjacent to the Missouri River. This source is called the Missouri: Elk Point Aquifer. After treatment the water quality is very good. Lewis & Clark does extensive testing for contaminants in our water and only the few items listed below on the Table of Detected Contaminants were found to be present in reportable quantities. The level of these contaminants is below what would be considered to be harmful.

A Message From The City Of Harrisburg: This winter and spring many Harrisburg residents are asking, ‘What is the City doing about the sewer lagoons and smell?’

As the weather warms the solid waste sitting at the bottom of the sewer lagoons building up all winter starts to rise to the surface bringing all sorts of smells with it. This process, while regretful, is necessary. As the solids start to move the bugs that eat the solids also begin to reactivate after going dormant all winter. As the bugs wake and do their job the smell goes away. To aid this process the city puts aerators into the lagoons.

Additionally we are recirculating water within the lagoons to raise oxygen levels to aid the bugs. Lastly, excess water in our lagoons is pumped to the city of Sioux Falls and so far this spring we have pumped over 17.5 million gallons. This process every spring of solids coming to the surface is called ‘turn over.’ Turn over should take two weeks if temperatures stay consistently high, which they have not. The thing that can cause turn over to take longer is ‘over loading,’ or when too many solids are in the lagoons for the bugs to keep up and do their thing. Our lagoons do have over loading, which brings us to what we are doing long term.

Last year Sioux Falls gave Harrisburg a new long term contract that would have cost Harrisburg between $25-30 million over the next 20 years. As a result of the unexpectedly high cost to contract with Sioux Falls the city contracted with Stockwell Engineers to study other more affordable options to treat our waste water. The results of that study came back to the City last December. The City Council held two meetings where the results were presented to the public and we advertised that meeting as we always do by posting our agenda on our website and with additional outreach methods on Facebook. Stockwell presented two options that would cost between $15-20 million over 20 years. The city is now working with Stockwell to identify possible locations south of Harrisburg to relocate our sewer treatment, after the sites are identified soil testing must take place to firmly determine viability of possible sites. We are pushing ahead on several other fronts as well. We continue to negotiate with Sioux Falls more preferable and affordable terms for a long term contract.

Additionally we have joined with Tea and Worthing to study the possibility of treating our waste water together as all three communities face limited capacity in the very near future.

In conclusion, those of us in City Hall, on City Council, and in the maintenance department are trying our best to be good stewards of Harrisburg’s limited resources and tax dollars. It will be some time before we know exactly which direction we will go for a long term solution.

That solution, regardless of what it is will be expensive and take time to implement. We need our next waste water treatment option to be as cost effective as possible and work for Harrisburg far into the future.

A few weeks ago Mr. Swensen’s time with us was cut short when his wife suffered a serious medical issue. Kristen Swensen, a former pre-kindergarten teacher and a receptionist at Luxury Auto Mall, is also a member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce dance team. Before the Skyforce game on February 24, 2015, Kristen suffered a grand mal seizure, which lasted for about 15 minutes. EMT's arrived and believed Kristen was stable but on the way to the emergency room Kristen started seizing again. Once in intensive care, doctors noticed that Kristen was in a constant state of seizure activity known as status. Kristen was given many different sedatives and anti-seizure medications but nothing seemed to calm her seizure activity. Doctors tried many different methods to reduce Kristen's seizure activity ranging from putting Kristen in a controlled state of hypothermia to plasmapheresis. After just over a week in intensive care things seemed to be getting better for Kristen until the early morning of March 5 where she suffered another setback. Kristen’s recovery process will be a long one, incurring many medical expenses. District Meet The Members GARRETT TIEHEN AND TANNER BROWN The Harrisburg School Board consists of five individuals who discuss our district’s needs. The board president calls the meetings to order twice a month on Mondays, with parliamentary procedure as the format. During these meetings, the members listen to various reports and make educated decisions as needed. Our Harrisburg School Board Members consist of Amber Ellingsen, Linda Heerde, Mike Knudson, Michelle Schirado, and Juanita Schmunk.

Amber Ellingsen has been a part of the Harrisburg School Board for one and a half years.

Along with being a school board member, she is a real estate agent with Keller Williams. To fulfill her duties, Amber oversees polices and decisions of the district. One of the reasons she joined the school board was a means of taking part in forming such crucial decisions for an ever-changing, growing, and prospering district. We asked Amber to comment on the MOD/CL program, and she responded with, “I think it offers accountability for the students and provides great learning opportunity.” Through her commitment to the school district, she will continue to serve to the best of her abilities.

Linda Heerde is a school board member in the Harrisburg School District who works for Sanford Health as an Enterprise Learning Management System Operations Manager. Linda feels the decision to allow students to choose between

the traditional or MOD approach is a helpful choice to allow each student to select what style is best for him or her. She has helped make many decisions including the following: brought a $25 million bond issue to a public vote, approved the building of a new elementary school, and supported the addition to the high school and improvements to athletic facilities. She faces many challenges as a school board member; one of her greatest difficulties is making decisions that not everyone will be happy with. Our district appreciates her efforts put forth to make our school district even better.

In addition to serving on the Harrisburg School Board, Mike Knudson also works for the Sanford marketing department. Some of Mike’s duties on the school board include managing the budget, setting policy, and helping to give the administrators, teachers, and students the tools they need to succeed. A big change these past two years for Harrisburg is the new MOD/CL program. Mike said, “I am in favor of the MOD/CL system; it is another example of Harrisburg being on the cutting edge of technology/innovative programming. We want to continue to be the district that both students and teachers want to be a part of.” In the seven months that Mike has served on the school board, he has developed a passion for all of the extracurricular activities that Harrisburg provides.

Michelle Schirado, another Harrisburg School Board Member, is a Regional Support Center Manager with Wells Fargo outside of being a

school board member. She feels that the MOD/ CL program is a great way for our students to become more organized and independent learners; she also feels that it isn’t a one-size fit all program. Because Michelle’s kids are wrestlers, she is most passionate about the wrestling program. Michelle thinks that the most difficult part of serving on the school board is the many long hours spent away from her family. Lastly, she mentions the she loves being a Tiger; she also grew up and graduated as a Tiger. Michelle raises her family here and says Harrisburg is an amazing district with only more great opportunities to come.

Our fifth school board member, Juanita Schmunk, works for Capital One. She has been on the school board for 5 years. Juanita joined the school board to become involved in the process, ensure the school is fiscally responsible, and provide a great education for our students.

Since she believes in the Mod/CL program, she expressed her support by saying, “I believe this is truly an amazing program. We often hear of the struggles in education. Here at Harrisburg we have taken this problem head on. This is one program that does not limit the capabilities of any student. As a parent, we often can set limits on our kids. Mod/CL allows the student to demonstrate how far they can go. This also allows students to take the time to really understand what they are learning at the individual’s level.”

Juanita is incredibly proud of our district. She says, “There is such great passion for learning and caring in this community.”

Peggy’s job as administrative assistant keeps her extremely busy. Some of her daily tasks include monitoring attendance, tracking students’ appointments, and keeping us all in line. The busiest time of the year for her is when school is getting ready to start, orientation, and helping the lost, new freshmen come to a big school for the first time.

During her retirement, Peggy hopes to spend more time with her family, meet up with old friends, visit her kids in Minnesota, and share time with her husband, who has been retired for four years. There is a lot that Peggy will miss after she retires, especially seeing all the people, watching the students grow, and meeting new parents. Most of all, she will miss working with Roxie. Peggy does not think it is her time to leave this place, saying she is not old enough and that the years passed too quickly, but she loved every minute of it. She promises to visit and hopes she can sub if needed. We will certainly miss her kind, welcoming smile as we enter and exit the doors every day!

PRINCIPLES OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES In the introductory course of the PLTW Biomedical Science program, students explore concepts of biology and medicine to determine factors that led to the death of a fictional person. While investigating the case, students examine autopsy reports, investigate medical history, and explore medical treatments that might have prolonged the person’s life. The activities and projects introduce students to human physiology, basic biology, medicine, and research processes while allowing them to design their own experiments to solve problems. This course is an elective, and does not take the place of a student’s required science course.

HOSA Happenings ROSS LANIER, HHS HOSA VICE PRESIDENT March madness is hitting Harrisburg HOSA! Competitors have taken their round one test for their state competitive events March 16th. These test scores either determine a student’s ranking in the state or qualify them to participate in round two of their event at state.

The second round of an event often includes the main proceeding of the event, like a debate or procedure. In preparation for State HOSA, parents and family are invited to the HOSA showcase April 7th at 6 p.m. in the high school commons with refreshments provided. Students will be able to practice presenting their projects, like health career display and health education, and receive feedback from parents in preparation for the state conference the same week.

Over the past month, HOSA Happenings have been abuzz in preparation for state. At the workday Wednesdays, students have worked laboriously to perfect their presentations and sharply tune their skills for their procedures.

A group of members had the opportunity to tour the Sanford Pentagon and field house alongside professionals in sports medicine. They also enjoyed a Q-and-A session with the professionals followed by the chance to enjoy a local Skyforce game in the VIP section. Also, members have prepared their experiments for the upcoming Science Saturdays on March 21st, April 18th, and May 2nd. Good luck to all competitors in their preparation for state!

The Finest Of The Arts RACHEL SCHROEDER The Fine Arts programs at Harrisburg High continue to wow their audiences.

In debate 23 kids participate, and of those, four plan to attend the national speech and debate tournament in Dallas, Texas. These include Sydney Tuttle, Lucas Davis, Ann Marie Anderson and Alex Cain. Dr. McKee, the advisor of the debate program, informs us that the team also won more rounds this year than any other year in the program’s eight year history. He wraps up by saying, “Our seniors ended their careers on a high note and the underclassmen showed great progress throughout the year. I can’t hope for anything more!”

Our band program, which is run by Mr. Groon, doubled this year. The band program grew so much in the past year that it has been hard to keep up with it all. Mr. Groon commented that its first season of competitive field marching was a success. The Spring Concert is coming up on April 23, and they have a lot of great music in store for us. He sums up by saying it has been a great year.

Mrs. Gould, the choir teacher, also experienced many high points this year.

While two hundred students participate, there is only one instructor. The highest point was Prairie Christmas, completed with, two shows raising about $7000.00 for Tiger Nation. They performed at Regional Large Group contest on March 22nd, and their Spring Concert is April 28th. Some students that stood out were Dan Mastick and Allison Meyer for making SD Honor Choir.

The art program, run by Mrs. Bird, put on an art show at the Sanford Premiere Center March 20th and 21st. Some students that participated include Gabe May, Brittan Murphy, Jerica Warwick, and Alexis Tjaden.

The toughest challenge the visual art department faced is keeping kids on track to continue wanting to participate in art and to improve their skills. Mrs. Bird also runs improv, and the group performed The Night at the Improv on March 20th.

Mr. Smith keeps busy in the theater department. As head of the drama club, he mentioned some high points this past year. They preformed A Christmas Carol that brought in their biggest audiences ever, conducted a One Act Play, Miss Beth, and participated in the Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Guthrie and Comedy Sportz. Lettering in Drama is based on participation as an actor or technician in productions and drama courses; students that lettered are Ashton Auch, Jordan Brock, Calvin Brower, Connor Engberg, Libby Ernst, Anthony Flores, Traci Heiberger, Matt Hudson, Brady Jones, Cody Kraft, Morgan Lanier, Adam Larsen, Gabe May, Morgan Novak, Rachael Oppenhowski, Rachel PEnniston, Maria Potratz, Kendal Wahlgren, Brooklyn Boyles, Nathan Harmer, Allsion Meyer, Camen Moir, Ireland Nichols, Emma Olson, Paige Schnetter, and Sarah Westerman.

HHS Band Preparing For Spring Performances JASON GROON On Thursday, April 23rd, the Harrisburg High School Band will present their Spring Concert at 7:00 PM in the Harrisburg High School Performing Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature the concert band performing a selection of classic wind band pieces to include movements from Robert Russell Bennett’s Suite of Old American Dances, R. Vaughn Williams’ Flourish for Wind Band, David Holsinger’s On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss, and Henry Fillmore’s The Footlifter.

The concert will also feature the HHS Jazz Ensemble performing a collection of modern jazz arrangements that vary in style from funk-rock to big band swing.

In addition to the Spring Concert, the HHS bands will be traveling to Dallas April 16-19 to participate in a musical festival hosted by Worldstrides. Along with performing, the band members will also get a chance to do some sight-seeing and spend some time at Six Flags over Texas while in Dallas.

The HHS Band will also be participating in the Region II large group contest on April 22nd. Adjudicators from around the region will have a chance to listen to the bands perform and offer critiques and comments.

Nicole Pierson Selected To 2015 SD All-State Band JASON GROON Harrisburg High School Junior, Nicole Pierson, has been selected as one of 40 clarinet players named to the 2015 South Dakota All-State Band.

The 65th Annual South Dakota All-State Band was held at the Sioux Falls O’Gorman Lorang Theater in Sioux Falls, SD on March 26-28, 2015. The All-State Band musicians were divided into two separate bands (Clark Band, Lewis Band) with each All-State Band having its own guest conductor.

The Lewis Band was conducted by Dr. Mark Heidel, University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA) and the Clark Band was conducted

by Dr. Mike Bankhead, Utah State University (Logan, UT).

The members of the 2015 South Dakota All-State Band were selected through statewide competitive auditions.

The auditions were held at six audition centers throughout the state during the month of January. The four All-State adjudicators traveled around the state to each center to select the top high school musicians in the state for the AllState Band.

The high school track season recently began with its first practice on Monday, March 1st. Of 140 participants, 94 are boys and 46 are girls. The track coaching staff at Harrisburg is well rounded and experienced. Kevin Kroger, head of the track team, possess twenty-nine years of experience, coaches relays, and trains. While Coach Yale coaches throwers and has thirty years of experience, Coach Langerock coaches hurdles and has thirteen years of experience. In addition, Coach Hoffer is the coach of the distance runners with six years of experience, and Coach Hirt coaches throwers with three years of experience. To round out the staff, Coach Vlastuin coaches jumps, and Coach Pohlmann coaches pole vaults, both with two years of experience. They are excited to have so many kids participating in track this year. Because the team has added depth, this will help them to be more competitive in all events. It should be an exciting year for the team. The first track meet occurred Monday, March 23rd, in Vermillion; Harrisburg will host a home track meet on Tuesday, April 7th at 3:45. To finish the season, state track will occur May 29th-30th.

Harrisburg High School is proud to recognize eight athletes as state wrestlers; the state wrestling tournament took place February 27th and 28th. Our state wrestlers included Freshmen: Jacob Hanssen, Michael Kumlien, Nolan Hoback, Nick Shirado, Cade Bruggeman, Logan Warzecha, and Seniors: Lane Warzecha and Matt Schirado.

If you are interested in participating in Tennis next year, there will be a meeting April 16 at the high school at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will introduce our new head coach and we welcome anyone who wants to participate in HS tennis who will be in grades 7-12 in the 2015-16 school year. We also welcome anyone who is interested in meeting the coach and who would like to hear more about youth programs.

While wrestling at state, Matt Schirado, who wrestled at 220 pounds, defeated Andrew Sorenson, retaining his State Champion title. Matt finished his season with a record of 43 wins and 4 losses. Lane Warzecha wrestled at 182 pounds and placed fourth, losing by fall to Sarringer of Pierce. Lane finished his season with a record of 36 wins and 18 losses.

Jacob Hanssen, who wrestled at 106 pounds, placed fifth in state and defeated Stoebner of Lennox in overtime. Jacob finished his season with a record of 41 wins and 13 losses. There were many highlights during this wresting season. Just to name a few, the wrestlers scored 100 points or more in seven tournaments, finished in state with 49 points (12 more than last year), and qualified eight wrestlers to state. The awards banquet was held Monday, March 16, in the high school commons to recognize the wrestlers for their successful season.

Matt Schriado was named State Chamption (All ESD Conference) while Lane Warzecha finished 4th and Jacob Hansen finished in 5th place.

Congratulations to the Lady Tigers for their accomplishments this year. After a slow start to the season the girls finished by showing a strong presence at their first AA state tournament in Brookings. Both Samantha Slaughter and Danni Honner were named ESD 1st Team All-Conference. Congratulations girls!

Harrisburg HS Debaters Finish Season Strong!

The Harrisburg High School Debate team completed their regular season with two strong showing at the national qualifying tournament and the SDHSAA State Debate tournament.

The team competed against 11 other schools for the right to represent the Rushmore District of South Dakota at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas this summer. HHS entered 4 public forum teams against 28 other entries with the hope of finishing among the top three positions, which would qualify for the national meet. The team ended up with three entries in the top six, with senior Sydney Tuttle and partner junior Lucas Davis qualifying in the third place slot. Seniors Alex Cain and Ann Marie Anderson finished in fourth place and become the first alternates.

Sophomores Grace Aasheim and Marisa Morris finished in sixth place, and are the third alternates.

Harrisburg FCCLA Members Selected As Part Of South Dakota Living Youth Council MRS. TRACY KERN, HARRISBURG FCCLA ADVISER Mya Hanisch and Alaina Ford as members of Harrisburg FCCLA Chapter, were two of fourteen teens selected across the state to be part of South Dakota Healthy Living Youth Council. This council of youth will be paired with professional mentors from across the state to lead a Healthy Living Youth Initiative in order to plan and carry out Healthy Living Youth Summits in the Fall of 2015. Congratulations Mya and Alaina!

Junior Jordann Krouse finished in fifth place in international extemporaneous speaking, and will serve as the third alternate in that event.

HHS played host to the South Dakota High School Activities Association State Debate and Individual Events March 6 & 7, with 24 schools and 300 coaches, students, and judges attending. The team fared well again, with the teams of Sydney Tuttle and Lucas Davis and Manaal Ali and Jordann Krouse finishing as quarter finalists out of a field of 32 teams in Class AA Public Forum Debate. Ali also placed second in Class AA Original Oratory.

The team now switches gears for student congress season, with the national qualifying contest for congressional debate taking place April 10 in Pierre at the Capitol Building.

North Middle School 8th Grade Field Trip To The Washington Pavilion!

TAMRA HUFFMAN North Middle School’s 8th grade class went on a field trip to the Washington Pavilion to enhance their American History classes. Mrs. Huffman’s classes went to the movie “Lewis and Clark: The Great Journey West” at the Wells Fargo Cinedome. It was a perfect supplementary fit with their manifest destiny unit. The movie, while visually appealing and well researched, explained the 8,000 mile expedition of the 31-member Corps of Discovery led by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.

Mr. Kovalenko’s Advanced American History classes attended “D-Day: Normandy 1944.” This movie introduced the classes to their World War II unit. The CGI sequences of the aerial battle, archival black and white photos, and animated maps kept the interest of the students. The film honored the soldiers that made sacrifices while at the same time informed the 8th graders about the heroes whose actions are explained in the movie.

Both groups also enjoyed the more than 100 exhibits at the Kirby Science Discovery Center. They learned everything from exploring space to learning about tornadoes, rock-climbing, making music, and movies.

The latest exhibit, which most students enjoyed, was the Rad Science: Skatepark Physics. The students played on exhibits that explored how gravity, acceleration, balance, force, momentum, and friction make action sports possible. This was one of the most popular exhibits of the entire center!

This whole field trip would not have been possible if it was not for our amazing parent chaperones who took time out of their day to assist the staff and students. Mrs. Huffman and Mr. Kovalenko would like to personally thank you for your time and talents.

NMS Dinner Theater MELISSA FIKSE

Tiger Stripes Kellie Boer Teachers riding ponies, hypnosis, students getting duck taped to a wall, and of course hungry hungry hippos are just a few of the activities the students get to enjoy during our quarterly tiger stripes celebration. At the beginning of the year parents were asked for a small donation to help fund this fantastic program. With your help we have been able to bring in a hypnotist, rent life sized blow up ponies, and of course endless prizes and candy. For the 3rd quarter celebration the students had the opportunity to participate in several games or enjoy a movie accompanied with a snack. Students must strive to meet a 3.0 grade point average or get nominated by a teacher for their outstanding character. Who knows what the next tiger stripes will entail!?

Refractions MELISSA FIKSE Most 7am mornings at North, you will hear the voices of 54 students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade rehearsing selections from “Top Gun”. Refractions is Harrisburg’s North Middle School show choir performance group. These students started their season at the end of December and are currently getting ready to conclude their season at the Mitchell Show Choir Classic on March 21st. Refractions debuted their “Top Gun” set at NMS pops concert in February and just recently competed at Washington HS’s Best of Show Competition where they took home an award for “Best Show Design”. Refractions is in their second year of existence and is under the direction of Melissa Fikse and choreographed by Mollie Jo Van Meetereen.

On April 14th, Harrisburg North Middle School will be hosting a Dinner and Dessert Theater at All Occasions located in Tea. Their performance of “Louder than Words” includes selections from ten musical theater productions over the past seventy years. The dinner show will include a pasta meal and will begin at 6:00 pm, with a ticket price of $20. The dessert show will start at 8:00 pm and will include cheesecake and coffee.

The price for the dessert show will be $10. Tickets may be purchased from the North Middle School office.

After School Clubs At North Middle School AMANDA OLINGER For several years North Middle School has offered after school clubs for students to join as a way for students to build social groups and have fun outside of the school setting. The clubs are offered on a Semester basis, and meet at least 10 times per semester from 3:10-4:00. Teachers at NMS offer to coach a club that they think would be interesting for kids, and then students sign up for whatever clubs they would like.

Some clubs offered this semester are Fitness club, Weightlifting club, cooking club, computer coding club, science club, and crafting club.

Other clubs that have been offered in the past are archery, cookie and cupcake decorating club, improve club, book club, Spanish club, Pintrest club, theater, astronomy club, History in film, and robotics club.

The students and the staff who coach the clubs really enjoy this time to interact with others in a safe and fun way that allows students to improve upon or interact with a hobby that they are interested in or in which they are already involved. Anybody can get involved, they just have to sign up and enjoy the experience!

Women In Science On Wednesday, March 11th, all 8th grade girls at North Middle School attended Women in Science at Southwest Technical Institute. Women In Science is a day-long program tailored to eighth grade girls; where girls are given the opportunity to join in hands-on activities related to the fields of science, math, technology and engineering. Each class or activity was lead by a woman or women that have been successful in these types of careers. Some of our groups learned about pharmacy and the duties of a pharmacist, USD medical students explained the necessary steps to get into the medical field of your choice, and a retired family practice doctor gave time for North Middle School girls to use tools of the trade.

Many local companies, colleges, and organizations were a part of the afternoon Women In Science fair. Girls could administer a shot to an orange, identify the growth of Las Vegas vs. a shrinking lake from aerial

photos, test the acidity of different liquids, and other girls discussed a future in mathematics with professors from nearby colleges and universities. Some even touched a real sheep lung!

Mackenzie Peterson, an eighth grade student at North Middle School, said, “My favorite thing about the Women in Science Convention is the fact that we were exposed to many new careers that most of us didn’t even know existed. We had heard of the health care professions but the engineering and technology jobs were a new association with the science field. This helped me to understand more about the options I have for my future. I was able to grasp the idea that science goes beyond the hospital and I can help people in more ways than I knew was possible. Each field we received hands on activities to help us relate to their daily job. The day was filled with fun and discovery; I am now more interested with courses in health and science.”

Harrisburg Wrestling 101

On March 11 the 8th grade girls participated in the Women in Science Event hosted by Southeast Technical Institute. Students learned about a variety of careers and the educational paths leading to these careers from women currently working in them. As students rotated though different career speakers they also got hands-on experience with the careers from locating changes in the land on satellite images to working with tools common to the pharmaceutical trade. At the end of the day students explored fields of their choice in the Exhibit Hall, which housed booths with information about careers, universities, and local businesses.

The HHS Wrestling coaches recently provided an opportunity for 6th – 8th grade boys to learn more about the sport of wrestling. Wrestling 101 consisted of 5 after school practices held on March 3, 4, 10, 11 and 12.

Coach Homan held practices at HNMS and had a total of 16 wrestlers.

Coach Andre held practices at HSMS and had a total of 11 wrestlers.

Both groups were a mix of individuals with varying levels of wrestling experience, with many of the participants stepping on a wrestling mat for the first time. During practices participants learned fundamental wrestling skills including: takedowns, breakdowns, escapes, and pinning combinations. Each practice ended with a skill-building game and the customary “Tigers” breakdown.

Wrestling 101 culminated with a combined practice session at HNMS. HSMS wrestlers were bussed to the North Middle School wrestling room and were greeted by the HNMS wrestlers. A total of 22 wrestlers participated in a practice similar to those held during the high school wrestling season.

Wrestlers were placed in mixed groups and worked on skills learned during the previous practice sessions, as well as live wrestling drills. The physical part of the day was wrapped up with a few rounds of a speed/ agility game.

At the end of practice, Coach Homan spoke to the boys about the HHS 7-12 wrestling program and expectations of wrestlers who are on the Tiger Wrestling Team. He highlighted the 4 priorities that they should each have in their lives: 1) Be a good person 2) Be a good family member/ teammate 3) Be a good, hard-working student 4) And finally focus on wrestling. Coach Homan explained that if the first 3 priorities are not being taken care of, then 4th priority won’t happen.

As the echo of 24 unified voices yelling “TIGERS” died down, the boys left with brand new Harrisburg High School wrestling t-shirts and the challenge of setting priorities.

7th Grade South Middle School Student To Represent Harrisburg School District At State Geography Bee Madeline Kroger 7th Grader Morgan Paulsen, daughter of Glen and Maria Paulsen of Harrisburg, will be representing the Harrisburg School District at the state level competition of the National Geographic Bee in Aberdeen at the end of March. Harrisburg South Middle School enrolled to participate in the National Geographic Bee this fall, and all 7th Grade Geography students at Harrisburg South Middle School competed in a class-wide Geography Bee in their 7th Grade Geography Class.

The class-wide Geography Bee was held as the students returned from Christmas Break and each class winner faced off in a school-wide championship to determine a final winner to represent the school district.

Rise Of The Machines CHRIS STEWART Tiger Robotics is wrapping up another year of change, growth and further success. Since its inception in 2012, Tiger Robotics has competed in the First Lego League and was one of the original 12 South Dakota teams to compete in VEX Robotics. Our students have enjoyed a lot of success in their first three years, accruing a number of awards and accolades: two state championships, the Excellence award, two invitations to the National Vex Robotics Tournament, and an invite to the world robotics tournament last season - impressive for a middle school team competing against high school teams.

This year was no different. While Tiger Robotics missed the mark for a third consecutive state championship, our students still landed one of the competitions best awards, the design award for best overall design and documentation. This award comes with another invitation to the world robotics tournament, one of only three invitations given to South Dakota schools.

Tiger Robotics competed in the BEST Robotics league for the first time this year in Brookings. This league is a fast-paced challenge that requires great deal of creativity. Jokingly referred to by students as “Junk Yard ‘Bots,” teams construct their robots out of a kit including piano wire, PVC pipe, a

It was then sent off to the National Geographic Bee headquarters where it was determined that Morgan would indeed be a great candidate to compete at the state level.

Morgan will be representing the Harrisburg School District at the State Geographic Bee on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Northern State University.

She will compete against up to 100 of the top scoring students from across the state in grades 4-8. One winner from each state and territory will advance to the national competition to be held in May at the Nation Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C. It is truly a joy to have Morgan representing our school district and we wish her the best of luck as she continues this process. bicycle inter-tube, and other random items. This year Tiger Robotics saw its participation swell even further, growing to 30 total participants in its three teams and after school club. With this growth came some difficult decisions. Even with the addition of BEST robotics, the teams have grown too large. The students have decided to leave their slot at the world robotics tournament unfilled, but instead will use their sponsorship money to add one to two more high school teams to their roster for next year. They also hope to develop and start a summer robotics camp for area elementary school students.

The Tigers have just started their sponsorship drive with the goal of creating even more opportunities for Harrisburg students of all ages. Endeavor Elementary Camp Invention, National Summer Program Fostering Creativity And Problem-Solving Skills, Endeavor Elementary School Harrisburg, SD - March 2015 – Camp Invention, the nation’s premier summer enrichment day camp program that is supported by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF), is coming to Endeavor Elementary School the week of June 1 - 5. Hosted by Harrisburg School District, the weeklong day camp for students entering grades one through six fosters innovation and creativity while also building self-esteem, teamwork, persistence and goal-setting skills.

Selection of the right summer camp for children can be intimidating and overwhelming as the options continue to grow and become more niche.

Camp Invention not only encourages inventive young minds through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in a fun and creative atmosphere, it also incorporates outdoor activities as part of its curriculum.

Camp Invention provides a great opportunity for inventive young minds to exercise their creativity and use their imagination in ways they don’t normally get to – through real-world problem-solving challenges, they

build things, take things apart, explore different types of technology and so much more. Many times, the students are having so much fun, they don’t even realize they are learning and developing new skills.

Penguins And Police Dogs MRS. HARRIS Mr. Frederiksen and Mrs. Harris planned plenty of popular presentations in the past few weeks ranging from penguins to police dogs. Inspired by a story from their reading books, the 4th grade students Skyped with Jean Pennycook, an educator and penguin researcher currently residing in Antarctica during the penguin breeding season. With the help of their teachers the students created and shipped a penguin themed class flag to Antarctica. After several weeks of waiting, they received photo confirmation that the flag arrived and was flying near the Adelie penguin rookeries. Pennycook returned the flag along with the photo to document the amazing journey.

Next, a story about service and search-and-rescue dogs prompted a visit from SFPD Sergeant Jon Lohr and his K-9 Andor. Sergeant Lohr discussed the training program and purpose for police dogs while Andor, a big, beautiful, Belgian Malinois, contently chewed his drug-scented toy. The dynamic duo captivated the attention of the students and teachers alike.

One thing is certain, from the bottom of the world to their own backyard, 4th grade teachers at Endeavor Elementary are always up for an adventure.

Third Grade

Freedom Elementary

The third grade students at Freedom have really enjoyed the warm weather, and the opportunity to go OUTSIDE for recess! It is hard to believe we are in the 4th quarter of school.

In Math we have learned how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. We also learned how to interpret different kinds of graphs and charts, and we learned how to solve problems using many strategies.

In Reading we have been working on becoming more fluent readers, and using different strategies to help us comprehend our reading.

We are also anticipating our field trip to the Washington Pavilion on March 27th.

Last, but not least we are preparing for our Smarter Balanced test in May. What an incredible, busy year we have had. Now we will enjoy the beautiful weather.

Journey Elementary Bright Smiles In Kindergarten MRS. LISA LARSON, JOURNEY KINDERGARTEN TEACHER Kindergarteners and 1st graders at Journey Elementary had a special visit on Friday, March 13. Jean Gross, from Delta Dental, came to present on dental hygiene and, as always, made it a fun and interacting experience for everyone. Jean had some special props that she used to teach the kids about proper brushing techniques. She brought her pet alligator, Albert, and his giant tooth brush, to show the students how to brush their top and bottom teeth and tongue as well! She even asked for a few volunteers from each classroom to stand front and center while she waved her magic tooth fairy dust over them and turned them into teeth.

Then she “brushed and flossed” the new giant teeth. The students loved this! She turned the “teeth” back into children and everyone cheered!

Students were able to ask questions about taking care of their teeth, and they even got a goody bag with a new toothbrush inside to take home!

Jean Gross puts on an excellent presentation every year, and we always look forward to her visit!

Meteorologist Meets Journey 4th Grade Students JASON LARSON, JOURNEY ELEMENTARY 4TH GRADE TEACHER The 4th graders at Journey Elementary welcomed Meteorologist Shawn Cable from KSFY News. He shared a presentation on severe weather and discussed what to do in case of Watches and Warnings. The kids really enjoyed his humor and funny stories as well. Mr. Cable bragged up the kids the next morning as he showed a picture of himself with the kids on the morning news program. He was impressed by how well behaved the kids were and how much they knew about weather.

Mary Had A Little Lamb Say Cheese!

MRS. KILEY NIELSEN, JOURNEY KINDERGARTEN TEACHER “Say Cheese!” In Kindergarten, we get our pictures taken a lot. But what is the first thing you see when you look at those pictures; pearly whites or missing teeth? During the week of February 23, Kindergartens at Journey Elementary learned a lot about dental health. The teachers spent time preparing activities that tied in the Dental Health theme across the curriculum.

We did math activities using fake teeth for counting and toothbrushes for measuring. We also read books about loosing and taking care of our teeth and did many writing activities on this topic as well. This was a theme really enjoyed by our students because it seems kindergarteners lose teeth daily or they love showing off their wiggly teeth.

To really get the importance of dental health across to our students, we invited in a dental hygienist named Jean to put on a fun and informational presentation to all the Kindergarten and 1st grade classes. Jean did an amazing job stressing the importance of brushing twice a day and flossing.

Jean also mentioned the different types of foods that make our teeth sad and the foods that make our teeth happy! The students loved having Jean and her alligator friend, Albert, in their classrooms. Albert did an awesome job at keeping his teeth clean! One of the most exciting things Jean taught us is that we are all done brushing our teeth after we sing our alphabet two times. That’s easy because we all know our ABC’s! At the end of the presentation, all the students received a baggy full of great little gifts, including a new toothbrush Remember; brush twice a day to keep the cavities away!

The first grade and kindergarten students at Journey Elementary were in for a special surprise when a former kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Mary Ellen Rounds (Manning) and her father, Mr. Tom Manning, stopped by the school with three newborn lambs on Friday March 13, 2015. Mr. Manning unloaded the lambs, placed them in a small blue holding pen, and allowed students to pet the animals while he presented valuable information about their diet, life cycle, and appropriate care practices.

The children listened excitedly as Mr. Manning discussed sheering and tail docking. He explained that sheering the mother sheep helps to keep the inside of the barn warm, and that docking the tail of lambs helps to keep them clean and healthy. He also explained that each mother sheep knows the sound and smell of its young, and that the lambs call out to find their mothers.

Students had the chance to ask questions at the end of the presentation.

Questions ranged from, “Why is this one smaller?” to “What is hanging on their bellies?” One of the lambs was a twin, so Mr. Manning explained that lambs with siblings may be different sizes.

All of the lambs were born this week, so all had umbilical cords that were still healing.

This opportunity brought science standards to life by helping students connect their reading and research about animals and habitats with a unique and engaging hands-on experience.

Mrs. Nancy Seiler, retired school teacher, came to Journey Elementary to meet with fifth grade classes. Mrs. Seiler shared a multi-cultural presentation on various countries and how elevation and latitude affects how people dress and live.

On Thursday February 26th, the Journey PTO held a Mindcore Marathon! This is a pledge type fundraiser whereby each student is given 50 questions and answers customized specifically for his or her grade level and selected by the teachers. Kindergarten students got 25 questions. They had 4 weeks to learn the information as an “academic challenge”!

Mrs. Seiler was a Peace Core Volunteer and world traveler in her earlier years and upon retirement, decided to share some of her experiences with fifth and sixth grade classrooms throughout the Sioux Falls area. “ It was wonderful having her here, said Mrs. Kirton. She had totes filled with various clothing for the students to try on over their clothes while she shared the history regarding the items.”

Mrs. Seiler, had the students “travel” from the Philippines to India, eastward into Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and into Turkey.

Students tried on sarongs, hats, dresses, jumbo pants, hijab and coats made from yak wool.

Mrs. Seiler has presentations other than dress. She doesn’t do a show and tell presentation, but rather allows students to become immersed within the cultural heritage of various countries. She is prepared for presentations on housing, foods and cooking utensils, musical instruments, and occupation.

Mrs. Seiler works with teachers to set up a time that is convenient for the classroom and prefers to present to one classroom at a time.

The students gathered pledges from family and friends.

These pledges could be used as an incentive…the better one did the more money raised, or as a gift given just for participation. The funds collected were designated for the playground and physical activity equipment.

On the day of the Mindcore Marathon, volunteers individually tested students. Many community members volunteered including parents, grandparents, Harrisburg high school football players and cheerleaders, Police officers, Storm and Stampede players and Skyforce cheerleaders! It was an encouraging and supportive group of volunteers.

It was a fun and successful event! We are proud of our students who not only learned valuable information, but also helped to raise money for the school!

Lemonade In The Library!

One book on our Prairie Bud list this year is Lemonade in Winter, written by Emily Jenkins and illustrated by G. Brian Karas. This book provided a great example of combining subject areas in one lesson, something our Principal, Dr. Highstreet, has been emphasizing and encouraging us to do this year. One area it touched on was an appreciation of literature and poetry with a story about a girl and her little brother selling lemonade and performing a chant to attract customers:

During Read Across America week, the Journey 1st graders enjoyed a few special activities celebrating author Dr. Seuss. They made, and ate, green eggs and ham while watching the cartoon Green Eggs and Ham. Some classes brought Dr. Seuss books from home to share and read during Daily 5 time. Dr. Highstreet joined them to read The Cat in the Hat to them.

All that is will cost you, 50 cents a cup! (Jenkins, 2012) It also provided a perfect opportunity for our students to count change while buying and selling pretend lemonade. Then, with a cardboard lemonade stand from Amazon. com, students took turns as a buyer and seller. Angela Nelson, our math specialist provided play money, so they had actual “dollars” and “quarters” to pay for their lemonade.

I was inspired to do this part of the lesson from the continuing education class I am taking this year offered by Tanya Rasmussen and Kip McKee in conjunction with USF. The class features the book Made to Stick, by brothers Chip and Dan Heath. They cover six characteristics that they believe are key in helping people remember concepts. In association with the acronym SUCCESs, the authors argue that ideas should be: Simple, Unexpected, Concrete, Credible, Emotional, and have Stories to help us remember them.

Our goal as teachers is to teach a lesson on these six ideas and then report back to our classmates on how it worked. In Made to Stick, the authors speculate as to why Asian students outperform American students in math. Referring to a 1993 research study, they found that in their math classrooms, the Asian “teachers are explaining abstract mathematical concepts by emphasizing things that are concrete and familiar—buying school supplies and playing ball (Heath & Heath, 2007).” Buying and selling the lemonade was a way to make this lesson more concrete.

A third component incorporated into this lesson was technology.

Our computer integrationist, Marta Hoffman, is always available to help when we add technology components to our lessons to make sure everything runs smoothly, whether we are using iPads, the Interwrite board or one of our mobile computer labs. While one group practiced counting change at the lemonade stand, another group played a math game app on the ipads: “Gracie and Friends: Lemonade Stand.” This was a great “fun” way to practice math skills as well. One thing that was particularly nice about this app is that it uses the mobility feature of the ipad. Students separate ice cubes into cups by tilting the ipad and having the ice cubes slide across the screen into the cups—something you can’t do with your desktop computer! This offers practice in counting and even early multiplication concepts. The students would also get to “pour” the lemonade from a pitcher once they got the correct answer by tipping the ipad pitcher!

Mayor Visits Journey 3rd Graders CORINNA FEELDY, 3RD GRADE TEACHER AT JOURNEY ELEMENTARY Third graders at Journey Elementary recently had a visit from the Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Heuther. The students have been studying local government and the roles and duties of our leaders in the community. Mayor Heuther gave an excellent message to the students about never giving up on your dreams, having goals in life and his duties as the mayor of Sioux Falls. The students had a great time!

1st, 3rd And 5th Grade Music Triple Header MRS. SARAH LAWSON, JOURNEY ELEMENTARY MUSIC SPECIALIST On Thursday, March 12, Journey Elementary 1st, 3rd and 5th grade students presented their annual music program at the North Middle School Auditorium.

The concerts were a great success with catchy themes. The 1st grade classes presented Kidtasia; students and their classroom teacher wrote and illustrated original stories while in music class, adding music to make the stories exciting, scary, or happy! They also finished their concert with three Celtic pieces in honor of the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday.

3rd grade students showed their skill in Water Music. The students played and sang pieces that encompassed water or frozen water. They also wowed the crowd with their show-stopping light show to Gary Allen’s, Every Storm Runs out of Rain.

5th Grade musicians also presented a top-notch concert! They performed CRASH, a concert based from STOMP. The students played buckets, dowels, pots and pans, brooms and even dustpans! The students created skits to go with each piece and showed they could not only perform music, but also act!

Overall the concerts were a success and having three concerts in one night was a hit! Great job 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students!

The Common Core Goes Green MRS. SABRINA POWELL, 1ST GRADE TEACHER, JOURNEY ELEMENTARY Students in Mrs. Sabrina Powell’s first grade class at Journey Elementary assembled festive green hats in honor of St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, 2015. After reading several fiction and nonfiction texts, the students worked in table groups to sort and graph the marshmallows found in a small sample of Lucky Charms cereal. All students were familiar with the Common Core Math Standards involving organizing and graphing data, and this was an engaging way to practice and enhance those skills. Students worked individually to create graphs of the marshmallow shapes they had sorted, and then worked in pairs to answer questions about their graphs.

This year, Liberty had a great Science Fair to share with the community!

Third through fifth grade students participated. Science Fair Participants stated their hypothesis and followed the scientific method when preparing their project to share. Good Job Liberty Students!!!!

Liberty Participates In The SDSU Elementary Festival Honors Choir SDSU Elementary Festival Honor Choir Participants February 12th, 2015 Kaitlyn D. & Payton P. Students that chose to audition for the SDSU Elementary Festival Honors Choir went through the audition process. The process included sending their recorded audition into SDSU where they would make the decision of who would get to perform in the SDSU Performing Arts Center in Brookings, SD. What a great experience for these two Liberty students!!!

Dr. Seuss- March 2nd Birthday ELIZABETH JOHNSTON, CHRISTINA SIEBER, DUSTIN VOGEL, BECCA PECHOUS, ESTHER IVERSON, PAM GUNNER, & ANGI CABLE February and March have been busy and fun at Liberty Elementary! We observed Dr. Seuss' birthday by having dress-up days and completing fun activities. Dress-up days included students dressing up as what they want to do for an occupation, pajama day, hat day, and green day. Many classrooms did writing activities centered around a Dr. Seuss theme, such as taking care of the environment, what students would do as Thing 1 and Thing 2, and what students wanted to be when they got older. Classrooms also had special snacks, such as "Lorax tree lollipops and green eggs and ham.” We also read many Dr. Seuss books and students brought in their favorite books to share with their class.

Liberty held their K-5 Talent Show on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Liberty has lots of talent!!! That is for sure!!!! There were comedy acts, dances, jump roping acts, piano solos, cup stacking, soccer & basketball skills, sign language and a variety of music/ song performances. Each and every one of these talented Liberty students really took some time and effort in making their act ‘performance ready!’ Watch out!!! Liberty can definitely ‘rock’ the school with talent!!! We can’t wait to see how their talents shine in years to come!
