Cobalt is used in applica ons where fric on and heat wear out general purpose HSS quickly. Cobalt improves normal and hot hardness. High speed tools made with the material last longer. Vermont Gage manufacturers a standard line of Cobalt Drill Blanks. Each Cobalt Blank is heat treated to 65/68 Rc and precision ground to standard frac onal inch sizes.
