The Dewberry Dinner Theatre Group performed ‘The Masked Musketeer’ on March 29, 30, and 31, at the Dewberry Hall.

According to Director, Cheryl Nawrot, the event has raised over $35,000 over the years which has contributed to several community events and activities.

Local cast members had been practicing since last year and many have said that they love being involved with all of the people in the theatre group and enjoy the feeling of achievement that comes when the play is finished and they hear the applause from the

audience.

Detailed set and costumes depicted a small, Spanish village and actors were able to incorporate comedy, action, r o m a n c e a n d mys te r y. Ad ve nt ur e ensued after the men had been called away, leaving the women and three boys to defend the village from bandits. “ We we r e b l o w n away w i t h t h e support and the number of people who attended. There would be no show if no one came to watch. We never know what parts people are going to react to, and we love that they enjoyed it. Mannville Co-op Celebrates 100 Years

“The Co-op in Mannville is part of the family in the Mannville District,” said Fred Wyard Scott.

Others felt that the Mannville Co-op began as a necessity for survival, and was built by the community, sustained the community, and became an anchor of the village.

Charles Stephenson was the first chairman of the board, and his great, great granddaughter, Amanda Baker, continues as a 4th generation team member.

Approximately 200 people had a blast at the David James and Big River – Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings Tribute on March 28, at the Vermilion Regional Centre.

Phil Hagen - drummer and Willie Nelson/ Kris Kristofferson vocalist, Allen Metcalf lead electric guitarist, and backup vocalist and road manager Todd Sacerty added to the show. The musicians cranked out hit after hit and David James interacted and tossed guitar picks into the audience.

Audience member Evelyn Webb said, “I very much liked the show, both the Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings portions.”

Immediately following the show, she said she could listen to it again.

James played lively music and memorable songs such as ‘A Boy Named Sue’ and told accurate innuendos. He even rocked two harmonicas during his rendition of the ‘Orange Blossom Special’.

After receiving a standing ovation, James returned to the stage and said, “I won’t leave you; it was just getting fun!”

He then had the audience singing along during ‘Ring of Fire’ “It was so much fun, almost like a Zen experience. If you are playing in a band or doing something you really love it’s like time doesn’t exist. It’s what keeps you young.

Islay Care Centre - Art Show And Sale

Approximately 100 people attended the Ar t Show and Sale at the Islay Care Centre on March 29, which raised $2,000 towards to Islay Comfort Fund.

Auctioneer Bruce Brock assisted in selling paintings, coasters, acrylic slides, etc. made by the residents. A door prize and silent auction were also held, and guests enjoyed visiting and refreshments throughout the afternoon.

Three hundred dollars was donated by the Marwayne Legion.

“The program we offer called ‘Art and Poetry’ is a form of expressive therapy that allows the residents an opportunity to express and understand their emotions. They get to be creative with their pictures in a number of different styles. This has been an ongoing project for a year now that Carolyn has facilitated and it has strong attendance and participation. By adding a poem to their picture it allows the residents an opportunity to reflect upon their inner selves. It

enables them to tap into a place they’ve never been before and we receive very positive feedback.

Lots of hard work and help was put into this event. A special thank you to Donna Watt, Dawn Franklin, and Bonnie Loewen, for donating art of their own for the silent auction; as well as the tile coasters created by the residents that Dawn facilitated. Thank you to Deanna Bendixon, her husband, son Anthony, and her mom and dad for all their help today and over the last few days, prepping/making food and getting frames ready. Thank you to all of the staff for helping out during the day of, and leading up to the event; the residents for painting and donating their pictures.

Vermilion Elementary School hosted a SoundKreations Hip Hop Dance Residency from March 25 - 29.

All week students had the opportunity to learn a hip hop routine from a program specialist, and at the end of the week presented their routines to the rest of the school and parents.

SoundKreations has been touring schools across Canada for the past 11 years assisting over 150,000 students.

W i t h t h e ir wor k , t h ey i ntr o d u c e children to the world of dance and poetry. Through their exploration of dance and poetry, they offer an engaging and socially encouraged method of developing a student’s physical literacy, mindfulness and appreciation for the creative process.

that was allowed after 6 very strict days was a mock ice cream, made of frozen bananas, thus fro-ban. I was amazed at how much the texture was like ice cream.

Even though a banana is sweet, it only has 100 calories, and it is filled with lots of nutritional benefits. Here is that recipe for a dairy free, sugar free “ice cream”. It is a good way to use up some ripe bananas. If you have ripe bananas and no time to use them up, you can peel them, slice them and place on a cookie sheet to freeze and then into freezer bags. These frozen bags of sliced banana can be used for this ice cream treat, smoothies, muffins or banana bread Bananas, have a lot of health benefits, maybe that is why we love them so much.

In a small food processor, pulse the frozen banana slices, until it turns into a smooth constancy of soft serve ice cream. For smoother blending you may have to add 1 tablespoon of your favorite milk such as coconut milk or almond milk.

If you have a larger food processor you can use 4 frozen bananas. For a harder serve freeze the ice cream for a half an hour before serving.

Variations – add the additional ingredients to the frozen banana and then pulse until smooth and creamy. Below are 10 ways to enjoy your fro-ban For vanilla add 1 teaspoon of vanilla For chocolate add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder For strawberry add 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries For blueberry add 1/2 cup For matcha add 3/4 of a teaspoon of matcha green tea powder For peanut butter, add 1 tablespoon peanut butter For pina colada add 1/2 cup frozen pineapple and 2 tablespoons coconut milk For raspberry or blackberries add 1/2 cup frozen raspberries or blackberries.

This would have been an expressi o n, had it b een in vogue, that my parents (and their parents ad infinitum) could have used going back perhaps as far as you would be able to track these days in ‘Ancestry.com’.

You didn’t leave the house or the farm or the ranch…every hour you worked you were ‘at home’ already. Most of my adolescent years pretty much everyone I knew on a day to day basis except my teachers would fit that description too. There might be a few relatives here and there over time that had some other occupation, like blacksmith or policeman or teacher or shopkeeper, where you had to use 2 legs or a horse ride after getting up out of bed to be physically at work somewhere else.

Cue the stories of walking miles during -20 degree blizzards, uphill, and both directions. My wife Pam is related to pioneer doctor Dr. Mary Percy Jackson who travelled all over Northern Alberta from Keg River, from 1929 forward, on horseback administering pretty much every kind of medical treatment imaginable, so there certainly are extended family that would fit the bill there (and fact perhaps closer than fiction on the tall tales). But those would be the exception I suspect, not the rule, with the rule being you hardly ever went any where, ever. It would have lead to that feeling of isolation that Dad often used to talk about. These days it can literally be a change of rooms in your house…with slippers on and 10 seconds down the hallway and 15 seconds more to log in…and off you go, actively working. And what you are working on is a document or an application on a server on the other side of

the country or the planet. That idea, around a physical disconnection from where you performed your work, has not really been around an awful long time. A documentary by James Burke from the 80’s I just watched on Youtube this week was posing that exact question while (holding up a small microchip no bigger than his fingertip) around how everything would change in society if telecommuting were the case for most people. How would it influence things for you? At the time of the series no one really knew yet and neither did he, and watching it again and having spent 6 years consecutively doing actually that very thing, never leaving home but still sort of connected to ever ything…it does tend to influence how you look at the world. Obviously most people we are around, in these parts anyway, are still spending significant

time commuting to work in a vehicle, travelling further afield using a highway than just going across the road to a job site, or maybe via train to get to their workplace. But if you have experienced telecommuting (or have for some time), you no longer look at the world (or the time you would spend commuting to be physically away at work with coworkers) in quite the same way again.

I know for some, holding on to the ‘old ways’ means more than still using the threshing machine instead of a combine, and instead sitting back at a cubicle at work closely around people even though everything you worked on for the last week could still have been accomplished, either way. Is being around others something we’ve found necessary again…after the trials with telecommuting…to feel ‘at work’?

It’s a very good question.

T he Ver m ili o n & D i str i c t Rot ar y Music Festival Association held their 2019 Festival from March 25 - 29, with a Final Concert at Parkview Alliance Church on March 31.

Participants from all over the region participated in piano, strings, as well as speech and vocal arts. Adjudicators Dr. Bianca Baciu, Adele Bosse – Morgan, and Adam Rober tson gave par ticipants compliments and constructive criticism for each perfor-

mance.

“Congratulations to all of you on yo ur pre p ar at i o n for yo ur c o n c er t per for man c es. It is a family af fair today, which is fabulous!,” said adjudicator, Adele Bosse – Morgan.

She went on to encourage the youth noting their confidence and steady tempo, and suggested exercises and working on what their bow is doing by way of distribution or speed for consistency and preparing their third finger ahead of time for violin solos.

68th Annual Gideons Banquet

Approximately 100 people attended the 68th Annual Gideons Banquet, held at the Vermilion Regional Centre on March 25.

Special Guests included the Mighty Power Singers, an acapella group from Edmonton; Ministry Training Specialist Derrick Mueller from Guelph, Ontario; and Andrew Fewell, the provincial Gideons representative from Calgary. Vermilion chapter president, Karl Vidal emceed

the event and said, “It’s really heart warming how Gideons members are developing contacts and getting bibles out there globally. Locally, we continue delivering bibles to Grade 5 students at schools, hotels, and friends we make on the street.”

Resources were also shared with guests including bibles, magazines on projects around the world, and app cards.

Gideons came alongside and raised funds through banquets like this one and last year provided the last installation of bibles. We have since launched a new project of 350,000 more bibles to work with local pastors collecting names for their congregations in India. There are also other projects in Chile and Peru for 13,000 bibles.

In Africa, pastors share a bible with

the people in the community; the people that get priority are those who are sick.

One pastor noted that people fake being sick.

Tonight we are fundraising to give hope, change lives, and make a difference.”

Municipalities Speak Up About Impacts Of Bill C-69 On Families And Workers, The Local Economy, And Potential Unintended Consequences

Municipal Advocacy Solutions Submitted

Bonnyville, AB – The Coalition of Canadian Municipalities for Energy Action is speaking up with decisionmakers in Ottawa about their concerns of the impacts that Bill C-69 may have on their local municipalities across the country. As local leaders in their communities, municipal officials are on the front lines of any potential impacts, both intended or unintended.

“This coalition has come together in order to outline the many evidencebased concerns we munic ipalities share when it comes to Bill C-69”, said Gene Sobolewski, Mayor of Bonnyville AB and coalition lead. “The Bill proposes a suite of amendments to three different pieces of legislation, of which the proposed ‘Impact Assessment’ legislation includes fundamental

changes to how municipalities will oversee local infrastructure and other projects moving forward. It also does not provide the necessary clarity on municipal land-use planning, waterway use, and indigenous consultation or federal grants.”

The other components for the p r o p o s e d B i l l w i l l h ave p r o f o u n d changes as to how the energy resource industry receives approvals and the operations for projects which will effectively result in a broad loss of the industry. In doing so, the social and economic fabric of many municipalities in Alberta and across Canada will be devastated.

Concerns around the revised regulatory structure and its burden on municipalities have not had the comprehensive overview and dialogue necessary, with input from across Canada, before this legislation moves forward. Munici-

palities from large to small need an opportunity to review these proposed changes and for politicians in Ottawa to listen to feedback and commit to considering amendments that will account for unintended consequences.

“Aside from the direct impact to municipalities and their administrators, the Bill may also impact local families and workers, in addition to municipalities through its changes to Canada’s resource development sector and the surrounding economy”, added Sobolewski. “ We look for ward to having

members of our coalition appear before the Senate Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Committee on April 10th to outline these concerns, as well as to continue to engage with decisionmakers and the public in the weeks ahead on the need to adequately understand the impacts of this legislation.”

Farmer Participation Needed For Team Alberta Grain Conditioning Study

Alberta Wheat Commission Submitted

(Calgary, Alberta) March 28, 2019- Team Alberta is seeking farmer participation for a grain conditioning study that will assess on-farm energy consumption and efficiency of grain drying and conditioning systems.

The data obtained from the grain conditioning project will be a critical source of information for Alberta farmers regarding efficiencies, implementation or expansion of grain conditioning systems. Information gained will also be used for advocacy

purposes such as improving programs and policies that seek to reduce the cost burden associated with on-farm grain conditioning in Alberta.

Interested farmers can expect a threeyear commitment working closely with experts to install necessary measuring implements, perform data readings and manual logging throughout the drying periods. Participating farmers will have their energy-use monitored and gain valuable knowledge of their system’s efficiency rate, along with individualized

recommendations to make operational decisions to reduce costs of their grain conditioning practices.

Team Alberta is seeking farmers who may be drying in the spring for a pilot project that will start in April 2019. For the study launch in July 2019, Team Alberta requires 40 systems and is seeking farmers who operate with one or more systems.

All information collected in the study will remain confidential and only aggregated data will be used in final reports.

Build Safety For Your Farm Visitors

Visiting a farm is not without risk.

Injury is a possibility when people come in contact with animals, farm equipment or other hazards.

While many farm operations are accustomed to regular visitors, it is in a farm’s best interest to provide these visitors with a basic orientation when they first enter the property. Regardless of whether the people visiting are suppliers and contractors, or friends and family members, producers are responsible for their safety.

The good news is that developing a visitor orientation does not have to be a difficult task.

Start by assessing and documenting any safety risks before visitors come to your farm. Are there areas that are off limits – such as bins, crop protection storage areas, lagoons, etc.? Are there areas of your farm that are fine for adults to visit, but not for children? Are there areas on the farm that are accessible to contractors and suppliers but not friends and family?

These are all great questions to think about before visitors set foot on the property.

Take into consideration a visitor’s limitations. Walking through grassy areas with ant mounds or gopher holes might not seem too risky. However, falls – especially for older adults – can lead to serious injuries and other complications. Other limitations might include lack of training or awareness on the operation of farm machinery or equipment. Keep that in mind before allowing any visitor to perform farming tasks.

Personal protective equipment is also a consideration. Depending on the safety risks you have identified, any necessary personal protective equipment should be provided during the orientation. If you have taken the proactive step of asking visitors to bring their own equipment, then you are already ahead of the game. It is also a good idea to lead a walkthrough of certain areas so that visitors get a visual understanding of where they can and cannot go, as well as an awareness of the safety risks.

Remember to lead by example during the orientation, and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.

While some of these farm hazards may seem obvious to those who are

around them every day, it’s important not to assume that other people will already be aware of the associated risks. Even if signage is in place on the property to identify any hazards, make sure to explain the risks during the orientation. Take time also to highlight the key points of your property’s Emergency Response Plan, like where the designated meeting/muster point is, and who to call in the event of an emergency.

Once the orientation is complete, make sure it is documented and signed off by both the visitor and person providing the training.

Even though creating and implementing a visitor orientation takes a bit of work, it is well worth the effort to protect the wellbeing of every person who visits. And that is an important priority for all Canadian

producers.

The 9th Annual Art Show and Sale will be hosted by the Vermilion Community Art Club at the Vermilion Regional Centre from April 12 - 13.

On April 12, from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to view the work of over 50 artists, meet the artists, and enjoy music by the RGB Trio along with wine and appetizers. There will be a $200 Art Bucks door prize to be used towards the purchase of artwork at the show. On April 13, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., the sale will take place with demonstrations including cold wax and oils, alcohol ink, water colours, and poured acrylics being done throughout the day.

Art Show chairman, Sandra Miller, said that one of the commitments that the art club has is to bring art to the community.

“Along with workshops, paint ‘till you faint days, and supporting mural projects around town we try to be involved in the community; and this has become a big

part of it. You can hardly say enough about how well the community has supported it and that people now anticipate the show.

When asked why art is beneficial, Miller said, “Art in itself is an expression, it’s a meditation; there is much to do in art.

Connecting with family and friends through the internet and social media applications provides a convenient way to keep in touch. We share photos, videos, and exciting life events. However, we also share a lot of information that can be saved by individuals without our knowing. To keep ourselves and our families safe online, there are many helpful online resources that are updated regularly.

MediaSmarts is a Canadian not-for-profit organization (Website: mediasmarts.ca).

MediaSmarts states “Our vision is that children and youth have the critical thinking skills to engage with media as active and informed digital citizens.” The website includes helpful resources for parents and highlights specific media-related topics, such as body image, gender representation, and intellectual property. It also includes many games for children and youth that create a fun format for learning about how to be safe online.

This website includes a lot of helpful information not only about online safety but also ratings of popular movies and television shows. National Online Safety is an online safety training provider created by three fathers (Website: nationalonlinesafety.com). It is based in the United Kingdom and seeks to empower internet users with resources about safety guidelines. A helpful section of this website includes Platform Guides for popular social media apps and common games children and youth use. These guides provide a lot of great information and tips on how to talk to others about online safety.

It is important for adults to monitor their own use of the internet and social media apps. Modelling healthy balance in online activity is key to raising youth as digital citizens. A helpful video by Common Sense titled “5 Social Media Rules for Teens and

Tweens” suggests important tips for everyone to remember: 1. Always use privacy settings - Remember that these settings might change from app to app, so double check your settings every now and then. 2. Think before you post - Once it is out there, it is out there.

Make a habit of slowing down before you post. 3. Never post mean messages or embarrassing photos - Cyberbullying is a rising issue in our global world. Talk about this guideline and issue with your children and youth. 4. Turn off your location - Online lurking can be a frightening topic. Increase your safety awareness by turning off location for all apps.

5. Don’t spend all day online - Online activity can become addictive. Set clear boundaries for your own use and your children or youth’s use and stick to it.

Animal Science Technology Program Introduces Four Majors

(Vermilion, Alta.) More specialized courses, additional student-managed learning opportunities and the introduction of equine into the program are among the benefits of Lakeland College’s restructured animal science technology program.

Starting this fall, students will enter the two-year diploma program in a specific major: beef science, equine science, dairy science or livestock science. Based at the Vermilion campus, the animal science technology program prepares graduates to work in the private sector or service side of the livestock industry in the areas of production, management and technical support.

“This new structure allows students in the beef, equine and dairy majors to take additional courses specific to that animal species. For those who want to learn more about multiple species, the livestock science major is their best choice,” says Geoff Brown, associate dean of Lakeland’s School of Agricultural Sciences.

Lakeland is no longer accepting applica-

tions to its one-year western ranch and cow horse certificate program.

“With the equine major in the animal science technology program, students will take horse training and cattle handling courses as well as more science-based courses focused on equine production.

Graduates of the animal science technology program have the option to transfer their diploma credits towards a degree program at another post-secondary institution,” says Brown.

The second year of the animal science technology program includes two studentmanaged farm (SMF) courses. Students manage a livestock enterprise on the college’s Student-Managed Farm – Powered by New Holland at the Vermilion campus, explains Bevin Hamilton, program head of animal science technology.

“Right now we have purebred beef, commercial beef, dairy, sheep and livestock research SMF animal science units. We’re going to create two additional SMF units for students to lead,” says Hamilton, noting the two new units haven’t been finalized but they

Currently, Kelly is an Alberta Advantage Party Director and the CFO for the AAP Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville, CA. Think For Actions Says Bill 21 Will Lead To The Marginalization Of Religious Minorities

Submitted Calgary, AB - On March 28, 2019 Coalition Avenir de Quebec (CAQ) tabled Bill 21, ‘An Act Respecting Laicity of the State’.

This secularism bill will leave minorities and especially Muslim females as secondclass citizens. The bill proposes to ban the wearing of the hijab, kippah and turban for public servants including teachers, school administrators, Crown lawyers, police officers, correctional officers and others.

While Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland told the United Nations on Thursday, March 28 that white supremacism and Islamophobia are among “the gravest threats facing the world”, she further said “this is ultimately an international problem and we need to act collectively to address it.”

“Think for Actions is deeply disappointed by the tabling of Bill 21 by Coalition Avenir de Quebec (CAQ),” said Dr. Mukarram Zaidi, chairman of Think For Actions.

“These kind of bills increase racism and discrimination by providing futile grounds to white nationalism, Neo-Nazis, and white supremacists.”

Think For Actions is a non-profit organization focused on youth empowerment and education. Think For Actions aspires to be a research institute and rewards young people under age 25 with scholarships as they present ways to end racism and discrimination.

Terror attacks by Muslims receive 357% more press. Terrorist attacks committed by non-Muslims (or where the religion was unknown) received an average of 15 headlines, while those

committed by Muslim extremists received 105 headlines, research by the University of Alabama has stated. (The findings are based on all terrorist attacks in the US between 2006 and 2015).

Grade four to twelve students started practicing for St. Jerome’s Annual Gymnastics Day last week. This year Gymnastics Day will be held during the afternoon of Thursday, April 18. Gymnastics Day sees the three houses, Cartier, Fraser and Mackenzie, battle for bragging rights, as they entertain family, friends and alumni with their military-like Swedish Drill routines, spectacular Pyramids and amazing individual routines and skills. Good luck to all of our students as they prepare for this exciting day.

April is a very busy month for our Spartan Badminton teams. The Sr. team participated in a tournament in Lloydminster last weekend, while the Jr. High team were in Kitscoty and Wainwright during the week

The Grade four students have been creating dioramas after their study of the Indigenous people of Alberta. The students worked with a partner to represent either a village or a hunting ground of the first peoples of Alberta.

Elementary March Happigrams were celebrated on Friday, March 29. Mrs. Lysons’ grade two students entertained the large crowd gathered with a St. Patrick’s Day Poem and the song, “I Will Follow You, Jesus!” The students gave a wonderful performance with lots of joy, expression and clear voices. Congratulations to all the Happigram winners for this month for their hard work, great friendship skills, and continued achievements.

On Friday, April 5, elementary students, led by the grade four class, will be hosting a bake sale to raise money for children from underdeveloped countries to have a life-saving reconstructive cleft surgery.

The organization they will be donating to is called “Operation Smile”. All baking will cost $1.00. Help make a difference in a child’s life.

The Grade six class will be fundraising for their field trip to Drumheller, in May, by selling Ice Cream Floats. The kindergarten class will get them Wednesday, April 10, and on Thursday, April 11 kindergarten

students to grade five will have the opportunity to purchase floats for $2.00. On Friday, April 12, grade 6 to 12 students will be able to purchase larger floats for $3.00.

Elementary students have started to collect money for the Heart and Stroke Fund. They will be holding their “Jump Rope For Heart” event on Friday, April 12, from 12:45 - 1:45 pm.

St. Jerome’s will be following the Alberta election closely and students in Grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 will have the chance to participate in the “Student Vote” on Monday, April 15, during the noon hour. Thank you to Mrs. Clark for organizing this important event.

Our Roots of Empathy classes c ontinue to be a highlight each week for our Grade 2 students.

2A anxiously awaits the visits from Baby Tenley and Mom, Dallis, every three weeks, while 2B does the same for their visits from Baby Bea and Mom, Mrs. Throndson. Through these visits and the specialized lesson plans that precede each visit, the Grade 2 students are learning empathy. By observing the baby and reading the cues the baby gives as to how she is feeling, the students are learning to understand how other people feel - they are learning empathy.

Roots of Empathy is an evidence-based program that has shown dramatic effect in reducing levels of aggression and violence among school children while raising social/ emotional competence and increasing empathy. We are very thankful to Vermilion Rotary Club and County of Vermilion River FCSS for their financial support of this important program. Most importantly we are very thankful to our tiny teachers, Baby Bea and Baby Tenley and their families.

The practicing, hard work, and fun paid off on Friday when the entire school gathered for a performance where each class had the opportunity to showcase their routines. This was an opportunity for students to develop their physical literacy, mindfulness, and appreciation for the creative process through the exploration of dance and poetry. SoundKreations made our gymnasium a safe place for students to take risks and succeed. We had a blast.

We are excited to say that before we leave on our Easter break this year we will be having a school wide breakfast for staff and students. On April 18, we will all sit down together to enjoy a healthy breakfast catered by Mrs. J’s Catering. The Alberta Nutrition Grant which we received this year, and which funds our healthy breakfasts every morning at school, is what will be responsible for this amazing opportunity. We are thankful for the chance to connect as a school family and learn about nutrition and healthy eating.

Alber ta Agriculture and Forestr y (A F ), A l b e r t a H e a l t h a n d A l b e r t a Health Ser vices conduct a sur veillance program for ticks. The program monitors the type of ticks that attach to companion animals, livestock and humans, and also those found in the environment.

C e r t a i n s p e c i e s o f t i c k (s u c h as Ixodes scapularis and Ixodes pacifi-

cus) are considered to be possible carriers of Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacteria that causes Lyme disease. These ticks will be tested for the presence of the bacteria to better understand the risk of Lyme disease in Alberta.

If Alber tans find ticks on their animals, they should contact their veterinarian. Veterinarians can submit ticks found on companion animals or livestock in Alberta year-round, at

no cost. The results of testing will be reported back to the veterinarian and to the Office of the Chief Provincial Veterinarian.
