Vermilion and area Remembers The members of the Vermilion Legion Branch #11, Vermilion Army Cadet Corp Loyal Edmonton Regiment #2645, RCMP, Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, local emergency workers, Fire School students and staff, local government and the public participated in a parade of colours from the Vermilion Legion to the Cenotaph in Vermilion to mark the start of the Remembrance Day ceremonies on Nov. 11. Because of the cooler temperatures, only eight wreaths were placed at the foot of the monument while the formal service had to be moved indoors to the Elks hall across the street. Nearly 80 wreaths in total were laid that day on behalf businesses, churches, local organizations and family members, for those lost during their time of service. See more on page 24.
