Easter Celebrations Marked With Re-Enactment Of Holy Walk
On Good Friday, April 18, the numerous religious denominations in Vermilion and area participated in the re-enactment of the path Jesus walked according to the Bible. Church leaders and members took turns carrying the cross. This year’s walk with the cross started at the First United Church and proceeded to the downtown area, making stops along the way for readings from the Bible, meditation and prayer. This is the fifth year for the walk and event organizer Keith Marsh said despite the walk taking place so late in Spring, there has never been so much snow. The snowfall from the previous day did not dampen the spirits of those participating but Marsh said it is, however, the smallest number of people attending the walk.
