Busy Weekend For Little Royal Rodeo Karen Nedzielski Reporter Lakeland College’s annual Little Royal Ro d e o to o k p la ce this p as t weekend at the Vermilion Campus and there was no shortage of events to take in throughout the three-day event. Friday saw a number of competi-
tors in the Western Canadian Judging competition where participants from across the country judged a wide variety of animals and objects, placing them in order of quality according to each participant. A cattle sorting and ranch roping demonstration spurred spectators interests followed by a stock dog demo at the Equine Building. It would
be Erin Rooney from Veteran, Alberta with her dog Jake who would take the event, putting the sheep through the course in a time of 2:39 seconds. The evening was topped off with a ranch rodeo in the evening. The Saturday events included a steer and heifer show, slack rodeo performance, regular performance followed by the ever popular, rodeo

Sunday morning featured a second slack rodeo performance and the day ended with the final rodeo performance taking place at 2 p.m. The weather was fantastic which may have contributed to the great turnout.
