a donation on March 5. The donation was proceeds from the ‘Smile Cookie’ campaign that was held from SeptemNOVEMBER ber 14-20, 2020. The presentation was delayed due to COVID and Whitney said, “I was thankful for all the support
from Vermilion and surrounding areas; this isn’t possible without them.” He also thanked his staff for all the hard work they put into the campaign. DECEMBER KidSport Vermilion has been operating for more than 15 years and provides
grant funding up to $300 for children under the age of 18 to cover registration and/or equipment costs. Eligibility is based on the total income and number of persons per household,” commented Young.
January - Ainsley Lehne participating in the 1.0 M Jumping event. February - Vermilion Ridge Riders hosted its 4th Annual Snowmobile Drag Races. March - Councilor Robert Snow, Councilor Kevin Martin, 5 year-old Rayce, Divina Pandey, Bishnu Pandey, Mayor Greg Throndson, and Councilor Kirby Whitlock at DB Delicious Bites Ribbon Cutting. April - Tim Hortons donated the funds from its Smile Cookie campaign to KidSport Vermilion. May - Town of Vermilion Councilors and Mayor performed a ribbon cutting for newly opened Lakeside Pharmacy. June - The chuckwagon races at the Wainwright Stampede. July - Seekaskootch Singers and Pow Wow Dancers from Onion Lake Saskachewan who performed at Vermilion’s Celebration of Vermilion and Multiculturalism. August - The Northlands Legacy Agriculture Award was made possible by a generous $145,000 gift from Northlands officially presented to Lakeland College on August 17. September - Cornerstone Co-op held its Fuel Good Day. October - Heinsburg resident Dan Peterso’s life was forever changed after being presented with all-terrain track wheelchair thanks to the generosity of Neil Johnson, the owner-operator of North Star Outfitting and SaskAlta Waterfowl. November - Webb’s celebrated 90 years of success and community. December - Vermilion was once again entertained by the Nutcracker performance held annually at the Lakeland Alumni Theatre.
