ANNI DI BM sono un’occasione per festeggiare, per guardare al passato e ricordare la lungimiranza dell’Azienda di Soggiorno e Turismo di Bolzano, diretta da Roberto Seppi che già nel 1999 ha visto in uno strumento trilingue un modo nuovo per comunicare la città agli ospiti di Bolzano.

Multilinguismo inteso come apertura al dialogo e non come traduzione letterale. Infatti, quest’anno, nel rilanciare la rivista, con un restyling tanto dei contenuti, quanto della grafica, abbiamo voluto rinforzare questo concetto.

I primi vent’anni di bm costituiscono però anche l’opportunità per guardare in avanti e comprendere le grandi potenzialità del turismo nel capoluogo: una vocazione che prende sempre più forma e s’insinua con eleganza non solo nei tradizionali obiettivi turistici, ma anche e soprattutto fra le bolzanine e nei bolzanini, sempre più consapevoli della grande attrattività della propria città. Il contatto fra l’ospite e chi vive in città diventa così valore e calore, si rispecchia, finalmente, in autentica accoglienza.

JAHRE BM MAGAZINE: Das ist ein Anlass zum Feiern. Vor allem aber ist es eine gute Gelegenheit, die Vergangenheit Revue passieren zu lassen und an den Weitblick zu erinnern, den der damalige Direktor des Verkehrsamts Roberto Seppi hatte, als er 1999 ein dreisprachiges Magazin aus der Taufe hob. Und zwar mehrsprachig, ohne 1:1 übersetzen zu wollen, sondern im Wissen, dass auch unsere Gäste mehrsprachig und offen für den Dialog zwischen den Kulturen sind.

Die ersten 20 Jahre bm bieten aber auch die Gelegenheit, sich Gedanken über die touristische Zukunft der Stadt zu machen. Indem wir unser Magazin Anfang des Jahres innen und außen gänzlich erneuert haben, geben wir als Touristiker ein Statement ab: Die Boznerinnen und Bozner wissen um die Attraktivität ihrer Stadt, sie prägen mit den zahlreichen Veranstaltungen rund ums Jahr das Stadtleben mit, treten in Kontakt, öffnen sich der Welt. Sie wünschen sich, dass die Gäste dieses Pulsieren miterleben, dass sie sich neugierig einlassen auf das Bozner Leben und die Bozner Begegnungen.

It’s an occasion to celebrate and look back to 1999, when Roberto Seppi - then director of the Office of Tourism - launched this trilingual magazine for the many visitors to our province. bm Magazine has always been multilingual, although perhaps not in a conventional sense. Rather than translate articles verbatim for our oft-multilingual guests, we’ve looked instead to open dialogue between cultures.

Our birthday also offers the opportunity to reflect on the city’s future as a tourist destination, as visitor numbers continue to grow. The effects are felt not only by visitors, but also by the people of Bolzano, who know only too well how special their city is and who delight in sharing what they know with guests. With the complete revamp of bm Magazine at the beginning of the year, we want to show what’s on offer: from the natural warmth of Bolzano folk to the special events all-year-round, everything is permeated with a true spirit of welcome.

GOOD NEWS ANSTECKENDE VORFREUDE AEvventoalVintola ist zum Bozner Geheimtipp in der Vorweihnachtszeit geworden: Noch vor dem Auftakt des offiziellen Christkindlmarkts wird auf besonders authentische Weise auf Weihnachten eingestimmt und mit Bastelecken, Lernwerkstätten für Groß und Klein und Handarbeits-Anleitungen zum Selbermachen von Geschenken animiert.

Zum fünften Mal findet die erfolgreiche Privatinitiative statt. Vier Freundinnen haben sie initiiert, um auf einen kritischen Konsum hinzuweisen, mittlerweile hat sich der Kreis ausgeweitet. Das Jugendzentrum mit Innenhof, Turnhalle und Bühnenraum verwandelt sich zwei Tage lang in eine pulsierende Ideenwerkstatt. Die Zauberformel lautet: Ausstellung und Verkauf von Qualitäts-Handwerk und landwirtschaftlichen Produkten, Werkstatt-Impulse, Unterstützung von Projekten im Süden der Welt, Märchen und Erzählungen und eine Gastronomie-Ecke, die sich einer neuen Kochkultur widmet.

As part of the Bolzano Christmas Market, the Office of Tourism has organized a special exhibition devoted to the childhood memories of earlier generations, with antique toys from attics and display cabinets.

Included in the miniature worlds of "C'era una volta... giochi e giocattoli d'altri tempi" (Once upon a time… toys and games from another era) are model railways, Vespa scooters, tin aeroplanes, toy soldiers on parade, horse-drawn carriages and doll's kitchens - all from the period 1880 to 1950. These wonderful antiques will be on display at the Bolzano Museo Mercantile from 7th December 2019 until 5th January 2020. Bolzano's toy collectors have not only made their treasures available, but at weekends they will also reveal how these almost forgotten everyday objects work and the stories behind them. From toys to legends: their fascination with antique toys is contagious, leaving children, young and old, enthralled with what they’ve seen.

CORSA E BENEFICIENZA Scoprire il capoluogo di corsa: la Bolzano City Enjoy, parte integrante dell’appuntamento podistico BolzanoBozen City Trail 2019, non è una gara, ma un itinerario di sei chilometri che si snoda nel cuore della città abbinato alla degustazione di prodotti tipici.

Domenica 20 ottobre, famiglie, corridori e appassionati di Nordic Walking troveranno una città in festa durante il Green Event e contribuiranno con la quota d’iscrizione di 25 Euro a sostenere le due associazioni non profit locali “GEA - La casa delle donne” e “Haus der geschützten Wohnungen” che gesticono alloggi protetti a Bolzano per donne che hanno subito violenza.

Dopo la riuscitissima prima edizione dello scorso anno, la BolzanoBozen City Trail propone tre itinerari: il percorso impegnativo del City Trail parte in Piazza Walther, il “salotto” dei bolzanini, e conduce sulle Passeggiate del Guncina, di Sant’Osvaldo e del Virgolo – 28 chilometri e 800 metri di dislivello. Questo itinerario rende protagoniste indiscusse le tre passeggiate più amate del capoluogo, con un panorama sui tetti di Bolzano e sui vigneti che in ottobre brillano di mille tonalità. Oltre alla gara di distanza lunga, gli organizzatori, l’Azienda di Soggiorno e Turismo di Bolzano, il SC Neugries e l’Ecoistituto Alto Adige, propongono anche la City Run di 16 chilometri e 400 metri di dislivello (stesso percorso ridotto dell’ultima salita sul Virgolo) e la corsa non agonistica City Enjoy in centro città.

2009 verschlang der Neubau, ein technisches Juwel der Firma Leitner, an die 20 Millionen Euro. Zu den Hauptfahrzeiten fährt die umweltfreundliche Rittner Bahn alle dreieinhalb bis vier Minuten und befördert damit jährlich über eine Million Fahrgäste nach Oberbozen bzw. in die Stadt. Sie bewältigt mithilfe von sieben Fachwerkstützen einen Höhenunterschied von 950 Metern bei einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von sieben Metern die Sekunde – zur Freude der vielen PendlerInnen, AusflüglerInnen und Gäste, die nicht nur Nerven, Zeit und Geld sparen, sondern auch die Umwelt schonen und in den rund 13 Minuten Fahrzeit grandiose Ausblicke auf Stadt und Bergkulisse genießen.

10 anni de “I luoghi dell’Amore”: un viaggio nei sentimenti, fatto di tappe inconsuete, per recuperare l’attenzione verso le piccole cose riscoprendo grandissime emozioni. Così – dieci anni fa - è nato il progetto “I Luoghi dell’Amore” a Bolzano, inizialmente suddiviso in due distinti itinerari: il primo partiva dal centro città e proseguiva per botteghe e palazzi storici raccontando le storie d’amore celate tra le antiche mura. Il secondo itinerario si sviluppava lungo percorsi nella natura, alla scoperta di antiche leggende sull’amore custodite nelle chiesette e nei castelli dei dintorni.

Da allora, gli appuntamenti alla scoperta de “I Luoghi dell’Amore” bolzanini hanno arricchito il calendario degli eventi del mese di febbraio. Il programma si è rinnovato di anno in anno coinvolgendo non solo luoghi antichi, ma anche punti di interesse moderni e contemporanei, simboli dell’amore per la città di Bolzano.

In occasione del decimo anniversario, l’edizione 2020 tornerà con una edizione speciale.

Den runden Geburtstag hat die moderne Dreiseil-Umlaufbahn, die erste in Italien im öffentlichen Nahverkehr, am vergangenen 23. Mai gefeiert. Die beliebte Bahn, deren Talstation im Zentrum Bozens entlang der Eisenbahntrasse steht, ersetzt die alte Seilbahn aus dem Jahr 1966, die bis 2007 die Boznerinnen und Bozner in die Sommerfrische oder zum Wandern aufs Rittner Hochplateau brachte. Und diese wiederum hatte die Zahnradbahn Bozen-Klobenstein ersetzt, die 1907 als Errungenschaft der Mobilität gefeiert wurde und die erste Verbindung Bozen-Ritten schuf. Die historische Bahn fährt heute noch zwischen Oberbozen und Klobenstein.

ie langen Sommerabende sind bereits Vergangenheit, dafür beginnen die Gaumenfeste. Von Mitte September bis Mitte November kommt es in der Gegend um Bozen zu einem Stelldichein für die Sinne: ein farbiger Herbst fürs Auge, ein überaus genussvoller Herbst für Nase und Gaumen. Selbst die taktile Wahrnehmung ist in der Herbstkühle eine andere, wenn wir wieder zur Wollhülle auf der Haut greifen. Weinlese und Kastanienzeit sind in Bozen der Inbegriff für den Herbst.

Der Begriff Törggelen“ vom lateinischen torquere“ ” ” bedeutet winden, pressen und drehen. Gemeint ist das Pressen der Maische nach der Weintraubenernte. Nach der Ernte zogen die SüdtirolerInnen zu Fuß von einem Bauernhof zum anderen, um den Nuien“ zu verkosten. ” Daneben servierte man Traditionelles aus der saisonalen Bauernküche. Authentisches Törggelen geht also einher mit ausgedehnten Wanderungen in der herbstbunten Südtiroler Landschaft.

Nach Überlieferungen ist das älteste Südtiroler Törggelegebiet das Eisacktal, und so führt der Eisacktaler Kesch” tnweg“ in vier Tagesetappen von Neustift bei Brixen durch Kastanienhaine an den Hängen des Eisacktals bis

auf die Anhöhen des Rittens und hinunter in den Talkessel von Bozen. Der vierte und letzte Streckenabschnitt führt von Leitach am Rittner Hochplateau vorbei an der Burgruine Stein nach Unterinn, hinab nach Signat und ins Katzenbachtal, beim Gasthof Ebnicher vorbei und auf einem alten, teils gepflasterten Fußweg durch Mischwald

Letztere sind die Protagonisten vieler Veranstaltungen. So werden oberhalb von Bozen in Jenesien heuer die 5. Kasta-

Törggelen am Ursprung“ nennt sich eine junge Initiative, ” zu der sich 22 Höfe zusammengeschlossen haben. Sie erfüllen allesamt die Qualitätskriterien der Marke Roter Hahn.

Das Erkennungsmerkmal der teilnehmenden Buschenschänke ist der Buschen“, ein Strauß mit einem roten Band, der ” an der Haustür hängt. Start ist am 5. Oktober um 18 Uhr mit einem Festakt: Führungen am Bauernhof, im Kastanienhain und in der Imkerei, Wein-, Schnaps und Sußer“ (Trauben” most)-Verkostungen. Anschließend wird in allen teilnehmenden Betrieben das so genannte Keschtnfeuer“ entfacht, ” und die Bauern rösten gemeinsam mit den Gästen die allerersten Kastanien.

Die Erntezeit ist eine Festzeit. Den Erntedank feiert man in Bozen mit einem großen Bauernmarkt am Waltherplatz, der musikalisch von Böhmischer Musik und Schuhplattlergruppen umrahmt wird. Termin dick eintragen: Samstag, 12. Oktober von 8.30 bis 17 Uhr. Vertreten sind Direktvermarkter und Handwerkerinnen, auch landwirtschaftliche Verbände – die Kommunikation mit der bäuerlichen Welt steht im Mittelpunkt. Die Qualitätsprodukte der Marke Roter Hahn“ genauso wie die breite Palet” te der Produkte mit Qualitätssiegel Südtirol werden dabei angeboten. Das Green Event bedient auch die Kleinen, mit Heuhüpfen und einem Streichelzoo.

Die Weinlese 2019 hat bereits begonnen und wird gegen Ende September abgeschlossen sein. Warme Tage und kühle Nächte sind die idealen Voraussetzungen für eine gute Reife und Aromabildung der Trauben. Edel und würzig kommt er daher, der Lagrein, mit samtiger Fülle und weicher Säure - Bozens Aushängeschild bei den Roten neben der mengenmäßig ersten autochthonen Sorte des feingliedrigen und frischeren St. Magdaleners. Herbst-Raritäten Früher stand am Ritten vor fast jedem Bauernhaus ein Birnbaum. Die Birnen trocknete man am Dachboden zu Kloatzen“ (entkernt und ” gedörrt) und machte so die Sommersüße länger haltbar. Zucker wurde in Europa erst im 19.

Jahrhundert mit dem Anbau der Zuckerrübe verfügbar, in Südtirol süßte man hauptsächlich mit Honig oder getrockneten Früchten. In den letzten Jahren hat die Qualitätsküche die Kloatze“ wiederentdeckt und die entspre” chenden alten Rezepte aus der Mottenkiste ausgegraben. Mittlerweile ist diese Rarität sogar eine geschützte Marke.

RITTNER KLOATZNKRAPFEN ein Herbst-Geheimtipp zum Nachkochen Zutaten Teig

Zubereitung Teig

1 kg Weizenmehl (Typ 0“) und ” 200 g Roggenmehl 600 ml lauwarme Milch 50 g Butter 3 Esslöffel Öl 2 Eier etwas Salz ein Schuss Rum oder Schnaps

Mehl und Salz in einer Schüssel mischen, die zerlassene Butter, Öl, Eier, Rum/Schnaps und nach und nach die Milch dazugeben. Damit einen geschmeidigen Teig kneten. Diesen in zwei runde Laibe teilen und zu Kugeln formen. Sodann zugedeckt mit einem Tuch 1 bis 2 Stunden ruhen lassen.

600 g Kloatzn (gedörrte Birnen) 200 g Zwetschgenmarmelade 3 Esslöffel Zucker etwas Zimt und Nelkenpulver Fett oder Öl zum Backen etwas Honigwasser und gemahlener Mohn zum Garnieren

Kloatzn waschen und weichkochen. Anschließend mit der Zwetschgenmarmelade passieren und mit Zimt und Nelkenpulver abschmecken. Sollte die Füllmasse zu dick geworden sein, mit etwas Kloatznwasser (vom Waschen übrig) verrühren. Nun den Teig auf dem bemehlten Nudelbrett dünn austreiben, die Hälfte mit Fülle bestreichen, zusammenfalten und an den Seiten gut andrücken. Mit dem Krapfenrad Rechtecke ausradeln und diese im heißen Fett schwimmend backen.

“Törggelen” deriva dal latino “torquere”, torcere, spremere, il lavoro che il torchio fa con le uve. In Alto Adige il Törggelen si rifà a un’antica tradizione, secondo cui i contadini si recavano a piedi di maso in maso per assaggiare e confrontare il vino nuovo, accompagnato dai tipici piatti autunnali. Sulle stesse orme si può oggi seguire il bellissimo Sentiero delle castagne che si snoda lungo la Valle d’Isarco, da Bressanone fino alla conca bolzanina. All’iniziativa “Törggelen Originale” partecipano 22 masi contadini dell’Alto Adige che si fregiano del sigillo di qualità Gallo Rosso: festa inaugurale sabato 5 ottobre, alle ore 18, con visite guidate, degustazioni e la preparazione delle caldarroste insieme agli ospiti. N PANTRY SHELVES AND IN THE CELLAR: CHESTNUTS, NEW WINE, FRUIT, VEGETABLES AND SMOKED MEATS. THE HARVEST SEASON IS A GREAT FESTIVAL FOR THE BEST IN FOOD AND WINE. With the long summer evenings already fading fast, so begin the celebrations of the palate in and around Bolzano, with new wine and chestnuts as our autumnal anthem.

Törggelen (from the Latin torquere, meaning winding, pressing and turning) is an age-old South Tyrolean tradition. Originally referring to new wine production, it became an opportunity for South Tyroleans to wander from farm to farm, to try the best of the seasons newest produce, including food. Today, it’s synonymous with leisurely hikes in the autumnal scenery.

Törggelen am Ursprung, with its Roter Hahn trademark, is a quality new initiative.

Autumn Delicacies In days gone by, there was a pear tree on almost every farm in Renon. The pears were dried in the loft, prolonging the sweetness of summer. Recently, there has been a revival of traditional recipes using dried pears and below is one particular classic.

1 kg wheat flour (type "0") and 200 g rye flour 600 ml lukewarm milk, 50 g butter 3 tablespoons oil, 2 eggs, some salt a dash of rum or schnapps

For wine connoisseurs, the 2019 vintage can be sampled, especially at the Vinarius Wineshop (www.kellereibozen.com) or FreiRaum Mumi (www.griesbauerhof.it)

Soak the dried pears then simmer until soft.

Add the plum jam and season with cinnamon and clove powder. If the filling has become too thick, mix in a little water (left over from soaking). Next, thinly roll out the dough on a floured surface, add the filling to one half. Then, fold the other half over and press the sides down well.

Use a wheel cutter to cut out rectangles and fry in hot oil.

Layer the drained Krapfen in a bowl, drizzling the honeyed water and ground poppy seeds over. WINT ER ST RB each layer.

uando si muove nel punto vendita della cooperativa Artigiani Atesini, Monika Piok pare proprio a casa sua. La sua è una scelta di vita: artigiana della ceramica, prima è entrata nella cooperativa come socia, poi, da 15 anni, ne è diventata presidente, oltre che direttrice del punto vendita dal 2008. Piok elenca come un mantra quello che l’artigianato artistico locale riesce a trasmettere alle menti curiose: la filosofia di un luogo, la bellezza dei suoi dettagli fatti di colori, paesaggi, visi, costumi, le tradizioni della manualità di una certa regione. Parlare di souvenir, per Piok, quindi, non solo è riduttivo, ma addirittura fuori luogo. Lei e le sue colleghe in negozio vendono pezzetti di “storia”, ovvero rappresentazioni dell’immaginario collettivo atesino, creatività di origine contadina o borghese legata al territorio.

Al momento sono 42 i soci della cooperativa, quasi tutti Maestri Artigiani. Il posto è limitato e si vuole poter mostrare uno spaccato delle opere di ciascuno, dal libero professionista alla media impresa, dalla giovane leva all’azienda con tradizioni centenarie, dalla cartolina o ninnolo che costano 2-5 euro alla scultura che ne vale 5.000. Unico rammarico di Monika Piok: “Mancano i giovanissimi, l’artigianato artistico è un settore difficile economicamente parlando, non si diventa certo ricchi realizzando e vendendo articoli artigianali, anche se unici. Noi possiamo promuovere la vendita nel nostro negozio, ma questo è solo un canale, accanto ai vari mercatini dedicati, e l’artigianato artistico va rilanciato anche con politiche che mirino a conservare le nostre tradizioni.” I soci della cooperativa si aiutano a vicenda tramite il negozio con consulenze sul packaging, sulla gestione imprenditoriale (fatturazione, calcoli estimativi, analisi del prezzo), oppure con consigli sulla lavorazione, dal prototipo alla serie. .

Anche le bolzanine e i bolzanini – un 40 per cento dei suoi clienti - scoprono a poco a poco le proprie radici tramite l’artigianato locale, vengono alla ricerca di un regalo o di un oggetto che racchiuda l’atmosfera dei propri luoghi d’origine. E chi entra nel negozio sotto i Portici n. 39, scopre comunque non solo un concentrato di Alto Adige fatto a mano, ma anche uno straordinario tesoro architettonico della città di Bolzano poco conosciuto: il cortile a lucernario del Palazzo Mercantile, con i suoi annessi verso i Portici. Un palazzo settecentesco che ora ospita il Museo Mercantile (entrata da via Argentieri) e racconta la storia economica di Bolzano. Questa fu, infatti, la sede prestigiosa del Magistrato Mercantile, istituito nel 1635. La Camera di Commercio, proprietaria dell’immobile, affitta questi spazi agli Artigiani Atesini, affinché facciano conoscere il meglio della produzione dell’Alto Adige.

DAI MANGA ALLE TIROLESINE Ester Brunini, bolzanina, classe 1981 Maestra Artigiana Vetraia, socia della cooperativa Artigiani Atesini da 3 anni, vicepresidente.

La sua passione per il disegno è nata da piccola, ammirando e imitando sua sorella maggiore che oggi lavora in un ufficio. Dopo la maturità pedagogica, frequenta un anno di Design e Arti alla Libera Università di Bolzano, ma molla, perché trova l’approccio un po’ troppo teorico. Scopre per caso il materiale vetro tramite un’amica, segue la formazione biennale professionale offerta dalla fucina artistica di Vetroricerca, a Bolzano.

Ester ha iniziato con piccole figure da collezionare ispirate ai manga giapponesi, trasformate a mano a mano in divertenti e originali tirolesine da appendere o fissare con calamite. Un suo pezzo forte anche i Portici di Bolzano in vetro, sempre da collezionare, piatti e ninnoli, bottiglie fuse ad uso di vassoio, lampade oppure intere vetrate variopinte per abitazioni, commissionate da architetti o proprietari di case amanti del vetro.

Poliedrica e aperta alla novità, Ester ama crescere con i suoi lavori, si definisce un’artista camaleontica, perché le piace essere “contaminata” dalle richieste artistiche dei suoi clienti. Chi entra nel suo negozio, con atelier sotterraneo, si perde fra forme e colori dalle sfumature ricercate, schizzi su carta, cocci e polvere di vetro, contenitori pieni di materiali di scarto da riutilizzare: la sua forma di upcycling. Il suo sogno? Creare uno spazio laboratorio-vendita comune con vari artigiani e materiali complementari: vetro, legno, metallo – per contaminarsi a vicenda.

“HEIMISCHEN” Le origini del negozio soprannominato "Die Heimischen" (in italiano “nostrani, autoctoni”) affondano le proprie radici alla fine dell’800, da un’intuizione del collezionista e storico d’arte austriaco Alois Riegl che coinvolse il noto commerciante bolzanino Arnold Amonn a far partire nel 1897, nei medesimi locali di oggi, la prima “Esposizione di Opere di Artigianato Locale” creando un luogo dove custodire, tramandare e commercializzare il bello e la tradizione della Città di Bolzano. Nemmeno i conflitti mondiali hanno interrotto questa attività, se non per un breve periodo attorno al 1945.

RACCONTAFIABE ALL’OPERA

Si nota subito: dalla scelta delle stoffe, ai sarner lavorati ai ferri con lana di pecora, agli scarponcini di lana cotta, alla scopa di raffia. Le streghe di Anna Pasqualin sono nate e cresciute in Alto Adige, anzi, a Don Bosco, quartiere a sud di Bolzano, con vista sullo Sciliar, cima simbolo delle Dolomiti e allo stesso tempo mitica, perché ha dato vita a moltissime leggende sulle streghe.

Anna gestisce la storica merceria in piazza Don Bosco, punto di riferimento del quartiere, un progetto di espansione edilizia recente, con l’italianizzazione dell’Alto Adige negli anni Trenta voluta dal governo fascista. La famiglia di Anna ha radici operaie e ha abitato una delle casette “semirurali” poco lontane.

La scelta della merceria e di rimanere in zona è stata dettata da un lato dall’abilità di Anna con ago e filo, prima solo hobby, ora anche mestiere, dall’altro dal senso di responsabilità sociale – la merceria infatti è divenuta un punto di riferimento per la comunità del quartiere. Madre sarta, marito artigiano, Anna ha realizzato la sua prima strega una decina di anni fa.

Assieme al marito, oggi ne producono ca. 150 all’anno, un po’ in negozio, durante i periodi morti, un po’ a casa, la sera, invece di guardare la TV. Quando rimane del tempo, costruiscono anche burattini da spettacolo.

Il suo sogno nel cassetto? Lo sta tirando fuori in vista della pensione: girovagare con i propri burattini e raccontare storie, un’eredità sociale e culturale da valorizzare.

YEARS OF LOCAL CRAFTSMANSHIP: SUPERLATIVE ARTISANS WORKING IN WOOD, CERAMICS, GLASS, TEXTILES AND WAX. Monika Piok is right at home here, at the outlet for the Artigiani Atesini cooperative. She has been the cooperative’s chairperson for 15 years and has run the historical arts and crafts shop under the Bolzano porticoes since 2008. For her, what is available here is a taste of local philosophy and a mirror of the local cultural landscape. The 42 members, from all parts of South Tyrol, love their roots and their craft. Little pieces of history are available here over the counter, with each piece telling stories from the rural and urban traditions of the province.

These craftspeople have been around for well over a century. In 1897, Linz art historian Alois Riegl opened the cooperative shop here, in partnership with the Bolzano businessman Arnold Amonn. But there’s a cause for concern: “Today there is a lack of young talent in arts and crafts, as the sale of these goods does not make you rich. Politicians should create better conditions for young people to enter this professional niche.”

According to Monika, 40% of the clientele are Bolzano folk, who have recently rediscovered local handicrafts. Even these locals enter the shop from via Argentieri in amazement, with its view onto the inner courtyard of the architectural jewel of Palazzo Mercantile, with its museum. It truly is at the very heart of the commercial history of Bolzano.

FROM MANGA TO THE WOMEN OF TYROL Ester Brunini, born 1981, Master glass maker, vice president of the Artigiani Atesini cooperative

They are immediately identifiable: from the choice of fabrics, to the sarner knitted with sheep's wool, from the boots in boiled wool, to the straw brooms. Anna Pasqualin's witches are born and raised in South Tyrol, or rather, the Don Bosco district in the south of Bolzano. Don Bosco has a view of Alpe di Siusi, the symbol of the Dolomites, with its long history interwoven with legends and stories, especially about witches.

Anna runs the historic haberdashery, a landmark in the neighbourhood. The area was developed during the 1930s by the Fascist government, in an attempt to Italianize South Tyrol.

Together with her husband, they now produce about 150 a year, when there is time left, they also put on puppet shows. Her dream, now retirement is in view, is to travel around with her puppets, telling stories, so that all that social and cultural heritage can be safeguarded, valued and passed on.

Ester’s passion for drawing began as a child. By chance she discovered glass working through a friend, afterwards following a two-year professional training course at Vetroricerca, in Bolzano. Initially, she made Japanese manga-inspired collectable figurines, gradually progressing to original, comic Tyrolean figures to hang or fix with magnets. One of her best subjects has been the porticos of Bolzano in glass. She also makes entire stained-glass windows for homes; especially-commissioned by architects or homeowners who love glass.

Multifaceted and open to innovation, Ester loves to grow and move with her work. She defines herself as a chameleon, because she likes to be “infected” by the artistic demands of her clients. Her dream? To create a common workshop-sales space with various craftspeople using complementary materials: glass, wood, metal – with each inspiring the other.

Monika Piok ist hier zu Hause: Die Keramikerin ist seit 15 Jahren Obfrau der Genossenschaft und seit 2008 auch die Frau, die den historischen Kunsthandwerk-Laden unter den Bozner Lauben führt. Für sie ist das, was hier verkauft wird, Botschafter einer lokalen Philosophie, Spiegel der hiesigen Kulturlandschaft. Im Handwerk der 42 Mitglieder aus allen Südtiroler Landesteilen steckt Liebe für die eigenen Wurzeln. Hier wird Geschichte verkauft, Geschichten aus der bäuerlichen und bürgerlichen Tradition dieses Landes.

Die “Heimischen” gibt es seit über einem Jahrhundert: Der Linzer Kunsthistoriker Alois Riegl hat 1897 zusammen mit dem Bozner Geschäftsmann Arnold Amonn bereits in diesen Gemäuern den Genossenschaftsladen eröffnet. Einziger Wermutstropfen: “Im

Kunsthandwerk fehlt heute der Nachwuchs. Mit dem Verkauf dieser Ware wird man nicht reich. Die Politik sollte bessere Rahmenbedingungen für den Einstieg der Jugend in diese Berufsnische schaffen.”

Seit kurzem haben auch die Boznerinnen und Bozner – 40% der Kundschaft – das lokale Kunsthandwerk wiederentdeckt, weiß Piok. Sie betreten den Laden staunend, denn in diesem Laubenhaus öffnet sich der Blick auf den Innenhof eines architektonischen Juwels, ein Palast, der über Jahrhunderte die Handelsgeschichte Bozens gestaltet hat: das Merkantilgebäude mit seinem Museum, das über die Silbergasse betreten wird.

Die Bozner Hexenfachfrau Anna Pasqualin, Jahrgang 1961 Die Schlern-Miniaturhexen aus heimischen Materialien sind in ihrer Kurzwarenhandlung am Don Bosco Platz geboren und während langer Abende zu Hause fertiggestellt worden. SIGMUND FREUD’S HAVEN The Freud Promenade, Freud Hikes, Freud Conferences, even a cake with his name! Renon: the 1911 summer resort destination of the founder of psychoanalysis. A current rediscovery.

fter a period of convalescence at the spa town of Karlovy Vary, Sigmund Freud joined his family for a summer holiday at Collalbo/Renon, in July 1911. He was just beginning work on his book Totem and Taboo, on the psychology of religion. The plateau above Bolzano provided the yearned-for peace and quiet he needed. Writing at the time to his colleague Carl Jung, Freud said that he’d found “a room where I can be alone and a forest nearby". The founder of psychoanalysis spent six weeks at the Hotel Post, now Bemelmans Post, where he celebrated his Silver Wedding anniversary with his wife Martha and their six children. He took long walks on the Renon plateau, alone or with his family, often with his young daughter, Anna, finding creative inspiration in the Dolomite landscape.

A VIP guest inspired by the peaceful oasis The promenade at Renon was opened in 2006, tracing the footsteps of Sigmund Freud, on the date of his 150th birthday. It is the first and only path in the world dedicated to the Viennese neurologist and father of psychoanalysis. It’s a one and a half hour walk from Soprabolzano via Stella to Collalbo (approx. 5 km). Mountain trail no. 35 meanders through the forest and meadows and is even suitable for pushchairs. If you’re feeling a little tired on arrival in Collalbo, you can return on the Renon narrow-gauge railway. In 2016, 13 artistically designed benches were added to the Freud Promenade. Each has a thought-provoking quote by Sigmund Freud, to

encourage a daydream or two while taking a rest along the way. Together with the Renon Tourism Association, the municipality of Renon has become a memorial to the great European thinker from the turn of the 20th century. The project was developed by Francesco Marchioro, a Bolzano historian of psychoanalysis and co-founder of Imago-Forschung: the association for applied psychoanalysis in Bolzano.

Collalbo 1st September 1911 Not only Freudians at Renon The early Rittnerbahn, an electrically operated rack-and-pinion railway, brought tourists from Bolzano to the high plateau from 1907 onwards.

By the beginning of the 20th century, summer resorts and hiking in nature had become highly-fashionable for the middle-classes.

Since 1993, international conferences and seminars on psychoanalysis have been held at Renon, in memory of Sigmund Freud's holiday. In addition, every second year sees an international competition held with the theme of Master and Traitor of psychoanalysis. Freud hikes are also organized in summer/autumn, guided by Bolzano’s expert on psychoanalysis, Francesco Marchioro. This autumn there are two themed walks. On Wednesday 11th September topic is Art and the Unusual; on Thursday 10th October it is Bliss and Discomfort in Culture, with a tasting of some Martha's Guglhupf cake as the crowning finale.

Martha Freud's Guglhupf Recipe

You don’t have to be in Renon to bake Martha Freud's Guglhupf !

Butter a Bundt cake tin. Place a layer of thinly sliced apples (peeled and lightly soaked in lemon juice and rum) in the bottom of the cake tin.

To prepare the dough, mix 2 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/3 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 2 teaspoons grated orange peel, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/3 cup butter, 1 egg and 1/2 cup milk.

When the dough is soft, add 1/2 cup raisins. Pour the mixture over the layer of apples. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. Turn it out onto a grid, let it cool then dust with icing sugar.

einhalb Stunden von Oberbozen über Lichtenstern nach Klobenstein (ca. 5 km). Die Markierung Nr. 35 schlängelt sich durch Wald und Wiesen. Der Weg ist kinderwagentauglich. Wer in Klobenstein müde ist, kann den Rückweg auch mit der Rittner Schmalspurbahn antreten. 2016 wurde die Freud-Promenade mit 13 kunstvoll gestalteten Sitzbänken ergänzt, die Aphorismen von Sigmund Freud als Denkanstöße liefern und beim Ausruhen zum Tagträumen anregen. Die Gemeinde Ritten hat gemeinsam mit dem Tourismusverein damit dem großen europäischen Denker der Jahrhundertwende ein Denkmal gesetzt. Das Projekt stammt von Francesco Marchioro, einem Bozner Historiker der Psychoanalyse und Buchautor.

Seit 1993 finden im Gedenken an Sigmund Freuds Urlaub immer wieder internationale Kongresse und Seminare zur Psychoanalyse am Ritten statt. Außerdem jedes zweite Jahr ein internationaler Wettbewerb unter dem Motto Meister ” und Verräter“ der Psychoanalyse. Auch geführte Freud-Wanderungen werden veranstaltet: heuer noch am Mittwoch, 11. September zum Aspekt Das Unheimliche und die Kunst“ und am Don” nerstag, 10. Oktober zu Die Glückseligkeit und ” 32

das Unbehagen in der Kultur“. Auch im Winter werden Freud-Wanderungen angeboten.

Freud arrivò a Collabo nell’estate del 1911, alla ricerca di un posto tranquillo “in cui possa essere solo e di un bosco nelle vicinanze” e vi trascorse sei settimane, con la moglie Martha e i sei figli, alloggiando all’Hotel Post, oggi Bemelmans-Post. Stava lavorando a “Totem e tabù”, un’opera sulla psicologia della religione, e qui trovò pace e ispirazione.

Nel celebrare i 150 anni dalla nascita di Freud (1856), il 6 maggio 2006 venne dedicato al padre della psicanalisi il sentiero principale nr. 35 che va da Soprabolzano a Collalbo. La "Freudpromenade", realizzata su progetto dello storico della psicoanalisi e autore bolzanino Francesco Marchioro, in collaborazione con il Comune e l'Associazione turistica di Renon, insieme all'Associazione Imago Ricerche di psicoanalisi applicata di Bolzano, è il primo e unico sentiero al mondo dedicato al Maestro viennese. 2019 ist ein wichtiges Gedenkjahr für Bozen: Der Kirchturm des Bozner Doms wird 500 Jahre alt. Ebenso gefeiert, mit einer Ausstellung auf Schloss Runkelstein, wird Kaiser Maximilian I, dessen Tod sich zum 500. Mal jährt.

Am Wochenende 21.-22. September feiern Stadt und Diözese gemeinsam die 500 Jahre seit Bestehen dieses markanten Kirchturms, und sie tun dies, indem sie an die Geschichte und den kunsthistorischen Wert des Bauwerks erinnern - am Samstag mit einer internationalen wissenschaftlichen Tagung im Pfarrzentrum, mit einer Heiligen Messe mit Bischof Ivo Muser um 18 Uhr und mit Turmbläserweisen am Abend. Am Sonntag hingegen wird am späten Vormittag eine koordinierte Schauübung von Bergrettung, Weißem Kreuz und Feuerwehr im Turm eine Rettungsaktion simulieren, während Märchen, Sagen und Bastelworkshops angeboten werden.

Übrigens stammt aus derselben Zeit die spätgotische Kanzel aus Sandstein mit seinen berühmten Reliefs. Diese wurde bei den Bombenangriffen der Alliierten gegen Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs teilweise zer-

stört und erst 1949 wiederaufgebaut. Der Kirchturm hingegen überstand die Bombardements weitgehend unbeschadet und wurde erst in den 1970er-Jahren renoviert.

Wer sich für die sakrale Kunst des Bozner Doms interessiert, findet in der Domschatzkammer eine gute Möglichkeit der Vertiefung.

ie gotische Kathedrale der Diözese Bozen-Brixen, der Dom Maria Himmelfahrt, war bis vor wenigen Jahren durch seinen 65 Meter hohen Kirchturm mit Turmhelm aus Sandstein ein beliebtes Postkartenmotiv. Heute ist der spätgotische Kirchturm ein beliebter Hintergrund für Selfies und ein fast konkurrenzloses Instagram-Motiv für Bozen BesucherInnen. Das Kirchturm-Projekt stammt von Burkhard Engelberg aus Augsburg, einem Star-Architekten und Stadtbaumeister aus dem zu Ende gehenden 15. Jahrhundert, überregional bekannt für seine Steinmetzwerkstatt. Verwirklicht und 1519 vollendet wurde der Kirchturm allerdings von einem Konkurrenten, dem schwäbischen Architekten und Bildhauer Hans Lutz von Schussenried, damals jung und von den Bozner Steinmetzen argwöhnisch beäugt, wie eine Bozner Sage bezeugt. Der Schwabe wird in eine Falle gelockt, doch die Aktion endet tödlich für den Fallensteller, so dass die Bozner der Zeit glauben, der Teufel habe beim Kirchturmbau seine Hände im Spiel.

MAXIMILIAN I. UND SEINE BILDERBURG RUNKELSTEIN Wer in seinem leben kain gedachtnus macht, der ” hat nach seinem tod kain gedächtnus und desselben menschen wird mit dem glockendon vergessen, und darumb so wird das gelt, so ich auf die gedechtnus ausgib, nit verloren“ Dieses Zitat wird Maximilian I zugeschrieben, der am 4. November 1501 Runkelstein besuchte und ein 38

Schlüsselerlebnis hatte, als er die prächtigen Fresken sah, die Helden und Rittergeschichten der Zeit darstellen und von der bürgerlichen Familie der Vintler in Auftrag gegebenen worden waren. So sah er in den Triaden des Sommerhauses Darstellungen von König Artus, Gottfried von Boullion, Karl dem Großen, Cäsar und Theoderich. Diese Figuren waren für Maximilian nicht nur Vorbilder, sondern legendäre Persönlichkeiten, die er im weitesten Sinn zu seinen Ahnen rechnete.

des Sarntals. Zwei Räume in der Bilderburg, und zwar eine Kammer und eine Stube, wurden ausdrücklich für die Besuche Maximilians reserviert. 1513, nach dem Sieg des Landsknechts Jörg von Frundsberg bei Vicenza, belohnte ihn der Kaiser mit der Pflege von Runkelstein.

Für die Darstellung der Recken auf Amtsgebäuden, wie dies Maximilian in Bozen und erst 42-jährig an seinem Grabmal plante, war es unerlässlich das für ihn nicht verständliche hell” denpuch an der Etsch“ abzuschreiben. Unter einem Heldenbuch verstand man damals eine Sammlung von Heldenepen und Ritterromanen.

Offenbar war es damals schwierig, das Mittelhochdeutsche des 12. und 13. Jahrhunderts in eine maximilianische Sprache zu übertragen.

Schließlich fand Maximilian im Bozner Zöllner Hans Ried den geeigneten Mann, dieses Rie” senbuch“ in allgemein verständlicher Sprache zu transkribieren. 1515 übergab Ried seine abgeschlossene Bucharbeit, die als Ambraser ” Heldenbuch“ zu den wertvollsten Handschriften der Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek gehört und neben dem berühmten Nibelungenlied die beiden Lieblingsgestalten des Kaisers, König Artus und Dietrich von Bern enthält.

500ESIMO ANNIVERSARIO PER DUE SIMBOLI CITTADINI IL CAMPANILE DEL DUOMO E L’IMPERATORE DEL SACRO ROMANO IMPERO MASSIMILIANO I D’ASBURGO

La cattedrale tardo-gotica della Diocesi di Bolzano Bressanone, il Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta, è uno dei monumenti più fotografati di Bolzano. Il suo famoso campanile filigranato, alto 65 metri ed eretto su base quadrata di origine romanica, è stato costruito nel 1517 dall’architetto svevo Hans Lutz von Schussenried, ai tempi molto in voga e per questo, si dice, molto invidiato dagli scalpellini di Bolzano. Secondo la leggenda, infatti, questi ultimi cercano di attirare in una trappola il giovane straniero.

Ma la persona incaricata di tendere il tranello cadde e morì.

I bolzanini si convinsero così che nella costruzione del campanile ci fosse lo zampino del diavolo.

Nel fine settimana del 21-22 settembre, la Città di Bolzano e la Diocesi festeggiano insieme i 500 del campanile, con un ricco programma di eventi.

MASSIMILIANO I E IL SUO MANIERO ILLUSTRATO RONCOLO Il 4 novembre 1501 l'imperatore Massimiliano I fece visita a Castel Roncolo, dove vide gli splendidi affreschi eseguiti attorno al 1400 su commissione della famiglia borghese dei Vintler: le avventure di cavalieri ed eroi e, soprattutto, i personaggi delle triadi lungo la Casa d'Estate. Le immagini di Castel Roncolo ebbero un profondo impatto sull'imperatore e sulla sua cultura della “rimembranza”, diventando modelli per opere letterarie e figurative. In occasione del 500esimo anniversario dalla sua morte, Castel Roncolo lo celebra con una mostra temporanea.

Legend has it that Schussenried finished the tower by dubious means, leading to rumours that the devil had lent a hand!

Celebrations on 21st and 22nd September include an international academic conference, Bishop Ivo Muser saying mass, and music afterwards.

On Sunday, the emergency services will stage a mock rescue operation in the tower. Guided tours are available.

MAXIMILIAN I AND CASTLE RUNKELSTEIN Maximilian I visited Runkelstein in 1501 and was in awe seeing the magnificent frescoes depicting King Arthur, Godfrey of Boullion, Charlemagne, Caesar and Theodoric the Great. They had lasting impact on the young Maximilian, later inspiring his rule as emperor.

Il Corno del Renon, a soli 20 km di auto da Bolzano, è raggiungibile anche in autobus o con la funivia che porta a Soprabolzano, poi con il romantico trenino del Renon fino a Collalbo e la linea dell’autobus 166 per Pemmern (stazione a valle della cabinovia del Corno del Renon), rinunciando all’auto e sostenendo il turismo responsabile. La ricompensa? La vasta area montana da esplorare: alture che salgono dolcemente, boschi innevati da fiaba e sentieri panoramici con vista mozzafiato.

L’inverno sul Renon è l’ideale per chi è alla ricerca di ecoturismo alla portata di tutti e di vacanza a misura di famiglia.

Trekking e gite sugli sci La gita più alla portata di tutti, e una delle più belle in Alto Adige, è il giro panoramico che parte dalla Cima Lago Nero, a 2.070 m, a monte della cabinovia, e segue la marcatura “Sentiero panoramico” raggiungendo il Tavolo rotondo, una piattaforma su cui sono indicati i nomi e i profili delle cime circostanti. Da qui si gode un panorama a 360° tra i più noti delle Alpi, con i colossi di ghiaccio dell'Ortles ad ovest, il leggendario mondo delle Dolomiti a est, le Alpi dello Stubai e dello Zillertal a nord, la Presanella e l'Adamello a sud. Durata: ca. 1h, escursione facile.

Il primo sentiero premium certificato d’Italia si trova proprio sul Corno del Renon e fa tappa anch’esso al Tavolo rotondo, proseguendo poi in direzione Corno di Sotto. Durata: 2h 45 min. Anche questa è un’escursione facile. Dal Corno del Renon partono

molti altri sentieri in quota di facile e media difficoltà.

Escursioni guidate con le ciaspole da dicembre a metà marzo entusiasmano gli appassionati, la stessa cosa vale per lo sci alpinismo. Ogni mercoledì sera e nelle notti di luna piena le piste di sci del Corno del Renon appartengono agli scialpinisti. Chi normalmente scia sulle piste e volesse avvicinarsi a questa disciplina, ecco l’occasione giusta per provarla, salendo a piedi con gli sci attrezzati di pelle di foca a lato delle piste, o nella neve fresca, e utilizzando le piste per la discesa.

Viene dal freddo Canada e subisce il fascino degli specchi d’acqua e dei laghetti gelati (in inglese “pond”). Questi fungono da campo di gioco per partite di hockey tra gruppi più o meno numerosi: minimo equipaggiamento e massimo divertimento.

Il Pond Hockey riassume la forma più pura di questo sport, con marcamenti e slapshot vietati, esaltando le abilità dei giocatori nel pattinaggio e nel maneggio del bastone.

Sul Renon, i bastoni da hockey vengono branditi sino dagli albori del 20° secolo. Ogni inverno, gli appassionati dell’altopiano si riunivano sul Lago di Costalovara dove, nel 1928, è stata fondata la prima squadra professionista di hockey d’Italia. Ben presto, però, il lago non fu più sufficiente e, poco dopo il termine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, sul Renon venne realizzato il primo palazzetto del ghiaccio.

Oggi, gli irriducibili dell’hockey possono dare sfogo alla loro passione sulla pista di Soprabolzano, sul Lago di Costalovara e al Palaghiaccio Arena Ritten di Collalbo.

Capitomboli nella neve: sci di fondo e slitta Due sono le piste naturali perfettamente battute per lo sci di fondo, entrambe soleggiate: una pista per principianti, lunga 5 chilometri, e quella per fondisti esperti, lunga 10 chilometri e in quota, denominata “Corno del Renon e Alpeggi di Villandro". L’incomparabile vista panoramica sulle cime delle Dolomiti si gode da qualsiasi punto delle piste.

Tra gli sport invernali che riscuotono più simpatia da grandi e piccini si colloca l’intramontabile slitta o slittino. La pista naturale di slittino sul Renon, lunga 2,5 chilometri attraverso alpeggi e tratti di bosco, parte dalla stazione intermedia della cabinovia e raggiunge la stazione a valle Pemmern. Le slitte possono essere noleggiate presso la stazione a valle. Si consiglia un corso introduttivo all'uso dello slittino, per imparare la

tecnica di manovra e frenata (vedi calendario www.renon.com) e di slittare solo dove consentito.

Trekking, Schneeschuhwandern und Skitouren: Der Panoramarundweg (1 h, leicht), der Panorama TourPremiumweg (2,45 h, leicht), die Rosswagenrunde (1,5 h, mittelschwer) und die Lodenrunde (2,5 h, mittelschwer) laden zur Selbsterkundung im Schnee ein, geführte Schneeschuh- und Genusswanderungen werden zwischen Dezember und Mitte März vom Tourismusverein angeboten. Jeden Mittwochabend und in Vollmondnächten gehören die Pisten auf dem Rittner Horn den Skitouren-GeherInnen, ebenso die Gasthäuser rundum.

Familiengaudi auf der Rodel: Kufen packen, festhalten und ab geht’s. Eine 5,5 km lange Naturrodelbahn, bequem mit der Rittner Horn-Bergbahn erreichbar, ermöglicht Rutschpartien für Groß und Klein.

POND HOCKEY Hier besinnt man sich auf die Wurzeln der schnellsten Mannschaftssportart der Welt. Im Vordergrund stehen Ästhetik, Freude am Sport und Kollegialität.

Möglich ist das auf dem Eislaufplatz in Oberbozen, auf dem Wolfsgrubener See und in der Arena Ritten.

Trekking, snowshoe and ski tours: the Scenic Trail Tour (1 h, easy), the Premium Panorama Tour (2 hrs 45 mins, easy), the Tour of Cavallo/Roßwagen (1 hrs 30 mins, medium difficulty) and the Tour of the Loden (2 hrs 30 mins, medium difficulty) are fantastic routes for exploring on your own. Guided snowshoe and pleasure hikes are offered by the Tourist Association between December and mid-March. Every Wednesday evening, and on nights with a full moon, the slopes on the Corno del Renon are full of ski tours, with inns along the way offering refreshment.

Family fun on the toboggan: grab your sled and away you go! A 5.5 km long natural toboggan run, easily accessible with the Corno del Renon mountain railway, makes tobogganing possible for young and old alike.

Cross-country skiing: Two manicured nature trails: the 5 km-long beginner's trail and the 10 km-long high-altitude trail, for experienced cross-country skiers, offer hours of memorable fun in the snow.

aniel, wie kommst du zum Eiskunstlauf?

Ich habe immer viel Sport betrieben, neben Tennis habe ich mit Hockey begonnen. Da war ich sieben. In Meran teilte man sich dabei die Eisfläche mit den EiskunstläuferInnen, und so habe ich einen Einblick in diese Sportart bekommen. Und bald damit geliebäugelt, mich dem Eiskunstlauf zu widmen. Mit acht habe ich dann das Training aufgenommen, zuerst bei der bulgarischen Lehrerin Ludmila Mladenova in Meran, dann bei Lorenzo Magri in Neumarkt.

Was liebst du am meisten auf dem Eis? Ich mag es abzuheben und mich in der Luft um die eigene Achse zu drehen. Fürs Springen braucht man Technik und Geschwindigkeit, beides habe ich drauf. Dafür bin ich kein Muskelpaket, Krafttraining ist nicht meins.

Du gehörst zur Senior Elite der YGA. Wie können wir uns deinen Alltag vorstellen?

Ich lebe mit meinen Eltern in Meran. Sie begleiten mich in der Früh nach Neumarkt zum Training, das um 8 Uhr beginnt, dann Mittagessen dort und Schulbesuch. Ich besuche mit zwei Kollegen die Oberschule der Akademie, drei Stunden am Nachmittag mit Privatlehrpersonen, bevor ich um 18 Uhr wieder nach Hause fahre. Dort warten die Hausaufgaben und mein Bett auf mich. Samstags habe ich vormittags noch Training und erhole mich am Nachmittag von der dichten Woche. Der Sonntag gehört meiner Familie, wir spielen gemeinsam Tennis oder gehen ins Schwimmbad. Meine Eltern haben mich von Anfang an unterstützt, spielen Taxi, Feuerwehr und Rückendeckung.

Was machst du, wenn du nicht eisläufst?

Das kommt selten vor. Lacht. Du meinst, wenn ich nicht schlafe oder esse? Ich verbringe etwas Zeit mit meiner Familie, meinen Eltern und meiner älteren Schwester, oder besuche Eiskunstlauf-Freunde in Neumarkt.

Hast du einen Traum?

Ja, Olympiasieger zu werden. Auch wenn bereits die Teilnahme an den olympischen Spielen ein Riesenglück ist. 2021 findet die Weltmeisterschaft statt, wenn ich mich dort gut platziere und 2022 die Saison ohne Verletzungen erlebe, dann habe ich gute Chancen nach Peking zu kommen. Was ich nach meiner hoffentlich langen Sportkarriere machen möchte, das weiß ich auch schon. Mein Traumberuf heißt Eiskunstlauf-Trainer. Ich bin einfach glücklich, wenn ich eislaufe, da fühle ich mich frei.

DANIEL GRASSL 2002 in Meran geboren; wurde mit 16 Italienmeister, es folgten ein 6. Platz bei den Europameisterschaften in Minsk und ein 3. Platz bei den Juniorenweltmeisterschaften in Zagreb.

Seit 2014 besucht er die Young Goose Academy (YGA) und trainiert mit einem der renommiertesten italienischen Eiskunstlehrer Lorenzo Magri in der Eissporthalle “Würth Arena” in Neumarkt. Neben Eiskunstlauf im engen Sinn bietet YGA auch eine private schulische Ausbildung (Mittel- und Oberschule), Unterkunft und Betreuung in WGs in Neumarkt, Tanz, Yoga, Physio- und Psychotherapie, auch individuelle Ernährungspläne für ihre ca. 100 internationalen AthletInnen. Derzeit besuchen Kinder und Jugendliche aus Italien, Frankreich, Norwegen, Schweden, Deutschland, aus der Schweiz, sogar aus Südafrika die Akademie. Nicoletta Ingusci ist Daniels Managerin. Die einstige Eiskunstläuferin aus Bozen ist heute Präsidentin der YGA und fühlt sich als zweite Mutter ihrer zahlreichen Schützlinge in Neumarkt, nur 20 km südlich von Bozen.

Je früher Kinder mit dem Eislaufen beginnen, desto größer die Chancen, das Eiskunstlaufen zum Beruf zu machen. Die meisten AthletInnen haben mit zweieinhalb bis drei Jahren mit diesem Sport begonnen.

“Daniel ist ein Ausnahmetalent. Er wird wahrscheinlich bald Teil der Sportgruppe ‘Fiamme Oro’ (Polizia di Stato), dann wird er nicht mehr für unseren Club Wettkämpfe bestreiten. Trotzdem wird er bei uns trainieren und bleibt Teil unseres Teams.

Der Bozner Trainer Lorenzo Magri über seinen Schüler Daniel: “Daniel ist einer meiner acht Buben unter rund 100 EiskunstläuferInnen der YGA. Ich begleite ihn seit fünf Jahren: Er ist extrem motiviert, ehrgeizig, fleißig. Und wartet auf den großen Tag, auf seinen Durchbruch. Er ist astrologisch gesprochen ein Widder, und als solcher leidet er sehr unter Niederlagen, steht aber auch schnell wieder auf, lernt von Fehlern, ist resilient. Er ist einer, der sich langweilt, wenn er an der Ästhetik der Choreografie, an technischen Feinheiten feilen soll. Dafür liebt er es, von der Eisfläche abzuheben, zu springen, egal in welcher Form.”

Ho iniziato a otto anni, prima con l’allenatrice bulgara Ludmila Mladenova a Merano, poi con Lorenzo Magri a Egna.

OPEFUL FOR THE 2022 BEIJING OLYMPICS, 17-YEAR-OLD DANIEL GRASSL IS ALSO THE FACE OF THE BOLZANO PASSION GALA AND THE ITALIAN FIGURE SKATING CHAMPION. Daniel, how did you get into figure skating?

At seven I started with ice hockey, moving to figure skating a year later.

What do you love most on the ice?

To take off and spin in the air - it requires technique and speed.

What’s your dream?

To become an Olympic champion! If I do well in the 2021 World Championships, I have a good chance at Beijing. After my competitive career, I really want to become a figure skating coach.

Vielleicht kennst du meinen Namen. Aber kennst du auch meine Geschichte? Mein Vater ist der Berg, groß und mächtig. Meine Mutter ist die mediterrane Sonne, sie wärmt und behütet mich. Mein Lehrer ist das Wetter. Ich bin kein gewöhnlicher Apfel, ich bin Marlene®, Tochter der Alpen.

Das einzigartige Klima Südtirols verwöhnt mich mit über 300 Sonnentagen im Jahr. Kühle Nächte und warme Sonnentage fördern meinen besonderen Geschmack und mein fruchtiges Aroma.

Rund 5.000 Obstbauern, die Mitglieder des VOG-Verbandes, geben jeden Tag ihr Bestes, damit ich zu einem perfekten Apfel heranwachse.

In Südtirol haben wir rund 10.000 Hektar Apfelwiesen, die von unseren Obstbauern mit Sorgfalt und Respekt für die Umwelt gepflegt werden.

Ich bin jung und extrovertiert, eine Freundin von allen, die auf Wohlbefinden achten und einen gesunden Lebensstil haben. Eine Freundin von denen, die es lieben, im Freien zu sein, Spaß zu haben, und mit Geschmack fit zu bleiben.

INCANTESIMI D’AVVENTO ISPIRATI ALLA TRADIZIONE NATALIZIA ALPINA Notti magiche e momenti suggestivi durante uno degli eventi più attesi dell’anno: artigianato e musica, un calendario straordinario di cultura e tradizione. Dal 28 novembre al 6 gennaio, Bolzano e dintorni respirano un’atmosfera magica e suggestiva.

rofumi speziati, luci fioche, sfumature colorate di ogni tipo, sapori decisi della cucina tirolese con tendenze al dolce, note musicali e suoni ovattati… sono poche le occasioni di questo tipo.

Inconfondibile è lo spirito dell’Avvento a Bolzano, la prima città in Italia a dedicarsi al periodo natalizio con un proprio mercatino, ispirato alle tradizioni nordiche. Dalla Germania, di preciso da Norimberga, il capoluogo altoatesino ha importato la cultura del “Christkindlmarkt” (il mercato di Gesù Bambino) e ora quello di Bolzano rappresenta il più antico e più grande mercatino di Natale di tutt’Italia.

L'idea di realizzare un mercatino natalizio a Bolzano nacque alla fine degli anni Ottanta, quando alcuni organizzatori del Nürnberger Christkindlmarkt proposero di creare un mercatino locale alle porte delle Dolomiti, proprio nella città di Bolzano, con la sua vocazione all’incontro tra Nord e Sud. Il Mercatino di Natale di Bolzano, giunto alla sua 29a edizione, prende il via giovedì, 28 novembre, alle ore 17 (e chiude il giorno della Befana alle ore 19), con una festa di inaugurazione al suo centro, in piazza Walther, alle spalle del Duomo. Il mercatino degli artisti artigiani, invece, parte integrante del Mercatino di Natale bolzanino, è ancora più datato.

Viene organizzato dal 1970 e lo si trova nella sua nuova formula a Parco Stazione.

Da qualche anno l’evento si presenta nella sua veste verde, la certificazione di Green Event per la sua sostenibilità, la genuinità dei suoi prodotti locali a basso impatto ambientale, per il risparmio energetico, l’efficace gestione dei rifiuti, la scelta di ridurre la plastica. Anche gli ospiti sono invitati a separare i rifiuti in contenitori dedicati alla differenziata e a privilegiare negli acquisti prodotti a chilometro zero.

Dove? Il cuore dell’evento resta il salotto della centralissima piazza Walther, lo affianca il mercatino solidale di piazza della Mostra ed infine il Parco di Natale allestito davanti alla stazione ferroviaria, con la magia degli artigiani e operatori del proprio ingegno.

Da segnalare anche il fine settimana prima dell’avvio ufficiale del Mercatino, 23-24 novembre: in programma l’AEvventoalVintola, un mercato dell’artigianato di qualità con piccolo angolo contadino, laboratori, progetti solidali, racconti e cibo presso il Centro Giovani Vintola 18 in centro.

Bolzano vanta una gastronomia senza paragoni: la cucina tirolese, con ricette di tradizione alpina, accanto a specialità della cucina mediterranea. La tradizione locale del Natale è quindi molto ricca. Non mancano dolci e dolcetti, dai Lebkuchen (pan pepato) alle frittelle di mele, ai biscotti, ai mitici dolci Zelten e Stollen. Quest’anno, per la prima volta, anche la specialità contadina “Scheiterhaufen”, uno sformato di pane bianco, uova, latte, mele, uvetta, cannella e burro. Da accompagnare con una tazza di vin brûlé, di cioccolata calda o di succo di mela caldo.

Quali sono gli eventi cornice di quest’anno? La città ospita una nuova edizione della rassegna letteraria “Un Natale di libri” che porta a Bolzano autori di bestseller italiani e le loro opere. Hanno confermato la loro presenza per quest’edizione Massimo Cacciari, Dacia Maraini, Ferruccio de Bortoli, Mario Giordano, Dino Messina, Paolo Morando, Andrea Purgatori e Alberto Mattioli.

Molti i musei da scoprire in città, inoltre, una mostra rétro dedicata al Natale, con balocchi antichi e il racconto della cultura dei giocattoli dal 1880 agli anni ’50, a Palazzo Mercantile (vedi pag. 6). Un appuntamento da non perdere è la Lunga Notte dei Musei bolzanini, venerdì, 29 novembre 2019 (dalle ore 16 alle 01) con tanti appuntamenti nei singoli musei (www.lunganotte.it). Inoltre, in programma una simpatica caccia al tesoro: chi trova traccia del mercatino in uno o più musei di Bolzano durante tutto l’arco di tempo del Mercatino partecipa a un concorso a premi.

LUCI SULL’ALBERO DI NATALE IN PIAZZA

L’attesa del Natale viene resa ancora più magica con i concerti nelle chiese e nelle piazze cittadine, canti natalizi, suonatori di corno alpino, bande musicali, melodie tradizionali e concerti d’organo, specialmente nei fine settimana, e le atmosfere della Corte delle Stelle (all’interno del Palazzo Mercantile) e della Corte delle Campane (nel cortile interno del cinema Capitol). Per i bambini anche la giostra e il trenino in piazza Walther e la pista di pattinaggio sul ghiaccio del Parco della Stazione.

Nella parte sud del Mercatino di Natale, in piazza Walther, si possono ammirare le opere dei soci della cooperativa Artigiani Atesini, fra cui anche le streghe di Anna Pasqualin e i vetri lavorati di Ester Brunini (vedi pag. 18-21). Nella casetta degli artigiani, inoltre, saranno all’opera dal vivo proprio i soci, secondo un fitto programma di appuntamenti.

Come gadget “cult” del Natale, si afferma la tazzina del Mercatino di Natale, un oggetto disegnato quest’anno dall’architetta Veronica Pacchiarotta - nata a Napoli, bolzanina per scelta - e che racconta ogni anno in forma diversa lo spirito del Natale a Bolzano. C’è chi la colleziona da anni.

TRENATALE A RENON 12 a edizione per il Trenatale del Renon: ben due mercatini, collegati dal treno, all’insegna del Natale in montagna per un intero mese, con un’atmosfera particolare legata ai luoghi magici e alla tradizione.

Il mercatino di Natale del Renon tocca due località, il centro di Collalbo e Soprabolzano, con artigianato di qualità, specialità del posto, nonché un ricco programma di intrattenimento con concerti, un presepe vivente, gite in carrozza, momenti fiabeschi per i bimbi. A fare spola tra un mercatino e l’altro il trenino del Renon con i suoi due capolinea: un tragitto di 6,5 km per godersi il paesaggio invernale dell’altipiano dal finestrino di un treno costruito su modello svizzero in voga nella Belle Époque.

The gentle, variegated lighting, the background music and buzzing yuletide hubbub as serenade, the Christmas spices that perfume the air and the sweet seasonal delicacies – specialities from traditional Tyrolean cuisine – all joyfully conspire to create a very special Christmas atmosphere.

The Bolzano Christkindlmarkt Christmas market, from 28th November to 6th January, is the oldest and one of the most northern in Italy. The inspiration arrived from the Nuremberg Christkindlmarkt, when Bolzano was twinned with the city in the late 1980s. However, the Bolzano Christmas market has added its own unique twist: it has become a point of encounter between North and South, as it has with so many other things here down the centuries.

For several years now, the Bolzano market has been proudly certified as a Green Event for its sustainable approach.

Organizers have sought continually to innovate and bring something new, something different to the Bolzano Christmas market. Piazza Walther is the beating heart of the market, which radiates out to include Piazza della Mostra and Parco della Stazione. The diversity of thoughtfully created events makes this more than just a place to buy something 70

special for that someone special. There is a literary festival; an evening with the city museums open until 1 am (29th November), in which you’ll find many special events; and a Christmas-themed exhibition on retro toys (from the 1890s to the 1950s, see page 6). Throughout the market period there’s also a family-orientated treasure hunt with prizes, and a rolling programme of concerts in the churches and piazzas, with Christmas choirs, alphorns and brass bands.

La mostra verte sulla scalata del Gasherbrum IV nel 1958 e racconta l’avventura degli scalatori che con i suoi 7925 metri è una delle più maestose ed impervie del pianeta. Fu un'impresa piena di rischi e un'indimenticabile pagina di alpinismo e di umanità.

Mostra in occasione del 50esimo anniversario del primo allunaggio. La mostra “Pazzi per la Luna” racconta come un sogno si è trasformato in realtà, mettendo in luce le conquiste tecniche e scientifiche necessarie per la missione, ma anche la bellezza della luna stessa.

Die Ausstellung betrifft die Besteigung des Gasherbrums IV im Jahr 1958 durch eine italienische Spedition.

Sie führte über einen der unzugänglichsten Grate des pakistanischen Karakorums und war eine besonders anspruchsvolle Leistung.

Vor 50 Jahren betrat zum ersten Mal ein Erdbewohner einen anderen Himmelskörper. Die Ausstellung ist eine Reise durch Zeit und Raum, mit Blick auf die herausragende technische Meisterleistung und die Vorgeschichte der ersten Mondlandung sowie auf die Schönheit des Mondes.

Nei suoi lavori Marguerite Humeau rivisita il passato in chiave fortemente contemporanea con approccio interdisciplinare e speculativo. Al Museion l’artista espone un gruppo di sculture in bronzo, che esplorano le relazioni tra le forme scultoree delle figure preistoriche della Venere e i contorni dei cervelli umani.

La mostra personale di Peter Wächtler è la seconda commissione che la Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare affida ad un artista emergente e che occupa tutto il piano terra degli spazi di via Rafenstein.

Die Einzelausstellung von Peter Wächtler ist die zweite Produktion, welche die Stiftung Antonio Dalle Nogare einem aufstrebenden Künstler anvertraut, dem dafür das gesamte Erdgeschoss des Gebäudes zur Verfügung gestellt wird.

In ihren Arbeiten setzt sich Marguerite Humeau unter betont zeitgenössischen Vorzeichen mit der Vergangenheit auseinander. Im Museion stellt sie eine Gruppe von Bronzeskulpturen aus, in denen sie die Bezüge zwischen den skulpturalen Formen der frühgeschichtlichen Venus-Figuren und den Umrissen des menschlichen Gehirns auslotet.

Un’interessante fotografia della storia dell’archeologia dell’Alto Adige prima del 1919.

Die Sonderausstellung beleuchtet spannende Funde aus dieser Anfangszeit der Archäologie, untersucht die ersten Grabungen und erzählt von frühen Museumsgründungen.

Dabei kommen die Pioniere und Protagonisten dieser Anfangszeit zur Sprache. Die Ausstellung widmet sich dieser Zeit des Umbruchs und vermittelt ein spannendes Bild der Archäologiegeschichte Südtirols vor 1919.

Die neue Videoarbeit von Philipp Messner beruht auf seiner Performanceaktion „CLOUDS” in München, bei der er die Wiesen vor der Alten Pinakothek mit Farbnebel flutete.

Die Videoarbeit erzählt nicht nur von der Aktion, sie wird selbst zu einem „medialen Gemälde”.

The new video by Philipp Messner is inspired by the performative installation “CLOUDS” in which the artist filled the lawn in front of the Alte Pinakothek in Munich with special coloured snow.

Il 4 novembre 1501 l'imperatore Massimiliano I fece visita a Castel Roncolo dove rimase impressionato dagli splendidi affreschi. Le immagini di Castel Roncolo ebbero un profondo impatto sull'imperatore e sulla sua cultura della “rimembranza”, diventando modelli per opere letterarie e figurative e ispirando infine il celebre cenotafio di Innsbruck.

Am 4. November 1501 besuchte Kaiser Maximilian I Schloss Runkelstein und war von den mittelalterlichen Fresken beeindruckt. Die Bilderwelt von Runkelstein sollte sich entscheidend auf Maximilians Gedächtniskultur und Selbstdarstellung auswirken und nicht nur Schlüssel zu literarischen und künstlerischen Werken sein, sondern auch Vorbild für ein Grabmal in Innsbruck werden.

QUIZ: soluzione da pag. 7 a) Le tipiche castagnate altoatesine nacquero nei masi, a vendemmia terminata. La gente e i vicini passavano di maso in maso ad assaggiare il dolce mosto, vino novello, castagne arrostite e krapfen dolci. Il ritrovo aveva luogo presso il torchio (lat. torquere – sudtirolese Törggelen). Nelle tipiche locande (Buschenschank) fuori Bolzano e in Valle Isarco ora vengono servite in aggiunta pietanze tipiche della cucina contadina e tutta una serie di “peccati di gola” della zona. Passare del tempo in compagnia e mangiare bene dopo aver fatto un’escursione autunnale in montagna oggi è il senso del “Törggelen”.
