LETTER from the President
In the four short months since I was offered the opportunity to join this world class organization as part of the senior executive team, I have been amazed by class, professionalism and the warmth I have received from each VERICO member with whom I have had the absolute pleasure to meet. The VERICO culture has been predicated on growing its business in concert with its network of mortgage entrepreneurs to help them grow their respective businesses and it is this culture and our core beliefs by which I will continue to lead our network in 2017. 2016 was an exciting year for VERICO. We continued to grow our network by clearly demonstrating our value proposition which starts with strategies directly lifting your

bottom line and first class services and support from our Sales and Membership teams. We were named Canada’s best network of the year for the third time in four years – a recognition that doesn’t happen by accident. We finished the year as a network that collective closes $16 Billion of total volume – 20% of the broker channel business. You, as VERICO members, are at a distinct advantage over all other brokers. You have all the tools and support backed by the power and size of a leading Canadian network at your fingertips – while still operating, and succeeding at, your own entrepreneurial vision.
What we have is something that has not been duplicated in the marketplace. Have we inspired imitation? Yes – in fact plenty over the last 11 years. But VERICO remains the original and the best network supporting your business with award winner tools, systems and services. In 2017, I and the entire team at VERICO Canada will continue to ensure that we remain agile, industry leading and on the cutting edge – so that imitators remain only as such; and we continue to help you succeed. Shortly after the holiday season we will be announcing exciting launches and initiatives around software platforms that that will deploy key deliverables such as payroll, compliance, marketing, workflows, and more. In addition, Verico will be expanding and enhancing
regional events as it relates to networking and professional development sessions in major markets. Stay tuned. Over this holiday season, I hope you spend time with friends and loved ones and have an opportunity to reflect. While it was a challenging year in terms of regulatory changes and market conditions, we are a resilient industry and there are many positives and opportunities worth celebrating.
