In 2021, the Sheriff’s Honor Guard attended numerous functions for the Sheriff’s Office, such as award ceremonies, funerals, badge pinning, promotional ceremonies, police academy and correctional academy graduations. One of the hardest moments for members of the team and our local law enforcement family was on May 20th, 2021. On this day, the Sheriff’s Honor Guard honored fallen Officer Luca Benedetti of the San Luis Obispo Police Department where the team conducted a 21-gun salute and flag folding ceremony for him.
