FUN FAIR FUN FAI R Dear Verdala Community - Parents, Students, Teachers, Staff, and Friends across Pembroke and Beyond, Welcome to our Golden Jubilee Family Fun Fair!
It is with immense pride, gratitude, and joy that I welcome you all to the start of our 50th Scholastic Year at Verdala International School. Reaching a Golden Jubilee is a monumental milestone. As our 50th anniversary slogan reminds us, Good Things Take Time - and building a lasting, world-class educational institution requires patience, dedication, and steady hands. Since opening our doors in 1976, VIS has spent a half-century fostering global citizenship, academic excellence, and a warm, vibrant community on our Mediterranean campus. This landmark year is a celebration of our history, a symbol of our resilience, and a launchpad for our future as we transition toward becoming Malta's first IB Continuum School. Today, as we kick off our celebrations for this historic year together, we invite every member of our community to celebrate how far we have come, and where we are headed next. A thriving school relies on a strong, connected community, and the relationships we nurture here prove that good things truly do take time to build. That is why I want to take this opportunity to invite you to join BRIDGE, our Parents' Organisation Organisation!! BRIDGE works hand-in-hand with the school to build a friendly, supportive environment by connecting families, teachers, and staff. Whether you want to volunteer at events, mentor new families arriving in Malta, or simply meet other parents, joining BRIDGE is the best way to make a difference in your child's school experience. Stop by the BRIDGE Information Booth today near the central courtyard to learn how you can get involved! A Year of Renewal and Unity A golden jubilee offers a powerful opportunity for renewal. Like any close-knit family, our journey over the decades has included moments of transition, but this milestone year serves as an open invitation to turn the page, extend an olive branch, and embrace a fresh era of collaboration. True unity doesn't happen overnight, but through shared effort, we know that good things take time to flourish. By modelling the IB Learner Profile - acting as open-minded communicators, reflective thinkers, and principled leaders - we can ensure that Verdala International School remains a nurturing, joyful environment where every student thrives. Thank you for your enduring dedication, energy, and trust. Let us make this 50th anniversary year a chapter defined by unity, celebration, and shared success. Enjoy the Fun Fair! Warmest regards, Davina McCarthy Head of School
